On Feb. 25, 2020, Sarah Boone, then 42, was arrested by Orange County deputies after detectives said 42-year-old Jorge Torres Jr. died after being zipped into a suitcase and left inside for hours. The incident reportedly happened at the couple's Winter Park home, near Aloma Avenue and Goldenrod Road. According to investigators, Boone told them that she and Torres had been drinking wine and playing hide-and-seek, when she claimed she went upstairs and passed out in her bed. She said she woke up hours later to her cellphone ringing multiple times. She then reportedly realized her boyfriend was possibly still inside the suitcase, and when she unzipped it, she found Torres unresponsive and not breathing. Boone called 911 and deputies arrived to find Torres dead.
The Behavior Panel comprises the world's top body language and behavior experts: Scott Rouse, Mark Bowden, Chase Hughes, and Greg Hartley. They analyze behavior and body language in videos of public interest. This non-partisan group aims to educate and entertain, focusing on nonverbal communication, deception detection, behavioral analysis, statement analysis, interrogation, and resistance to interrogation. Through careful examination of gestures, expressions, linguistics, and cultural context, they reveal truths and deceptions. I saw this interrogation days after it was available and the first thing that stuck out to me was how poorly it was done. To me, the worst of it was the vibe that the female interrogator was giving off. She was rude, defensive, belittling, sloppy (battery died), and accusatory from the very beginning. At one point, her left leg starts bouncing in a nervous manner...odd. I know that her cough is out of her control, but I found it distracting. Factor in the alcohol, it's very realistic to think she made a bad judgemental call and also passed out before assuring he got himself out. I do NOT think she ever wanted or thought he would die nor did she intend to fall asleep. Alcohol however, had a different plan with her and that's on her for being careless.

I met detectives who wanted the title ‘detective’ who shouldn’t have been detectives. These two just don’t have ‘it’. I was a street cop for 28 years, I knew where I was meant to be, I was skilled in other areas with regards to street duties and stayed there. She was quite clear right from the beginning (outside her house when she was talking to the police and eventually the detectives), that she locked him in the suitcase, and found him dead the next morning, so there was no "confession" for the detectives to elicit in this interview. She had already admitted that she had caused the man's death (whom she proclaimed later to have loved) - but when did you see any tears or remorse for having caused his death?? The man died, she was responsible for it, and she should answer for it. She is one of the most irritating people I have seen interviewed - she made it all about HER, and she should be convicted of involuntary manslaughter, at the very least. Just because you didn't MEAN it to happen, it doesn't mean that you aren't responsible - she admitted that she left him in the suitcase maliciously, to make him suffer - only in her drunken state she miscalculated what the result would be. I disagree with putting blame on the detectives - this was a very difficult and irrational woman to deal with, and her behaviour since has proved her to be so. I believe she is now on her 7th defence attorney, because she is so difficult that none of them will work with her, and they still haven't managed to have a preliminary hearing!!

The thought that the case was just starting to take a more serious turn came to mind. Like they got the video last moment before she came in and all the facts weren't in. Like the timeline of those, she said something about 11 min. But in reality there was almost 3h in between those (if to go by report she filed later that day). It might have not been first priority in the lab an these things only got there previous night. Then Boone made a last call before midnight, not asked about at all. Feels like they just didn't know most of the compromot before hand and then went in hot with the new video, thinking it was a slam dunk. Not sure if they had time to go through those to make 100% what you can and can't see. Maybe that's why she was so willing to shut it down when Boone asked, then went back to play it again, personal curiosity, to see if her "I left 2 inches" could be proven. Should have postponed the interview.

I think one of the problems is that the two cops don't like each other, or are tired of working together, or have differences of opinion regarding some other crime.

Guys, I feel your frustration. It’s all so bizarre. 1. Playing ‘Hide & Seek’ where you hide the person you’re seeking?!? 2. Feeling comfortable zipping a person into a suitcase?!? 3. Laughing at and ignoring their call for help?!? 4. Walking away?!? 5. Going to sleep?!? (Yet you claim you’re not intoxicated). My god! The thought of zipping someone into a suitcase gives me chills and she says it so easily. Like ‘so what’?

No it's not because she is a battered woman and their mental State can be so fucked by an abuser. She references that abuse on the audio. My guess is they will use BVS as a defense. I have no idea if it applies here fully we will see I suppose. So many people are so easy to see what she did but not willing to wait to find out what may have got her there. This is a man who according to court records violated a Judges order busted down her door while she slept and beat her. His bond of course was revoked. I think the alcohol played an affect and she was in a black out State. That explains why she forgot all about the videos she made.

Wow, every time the female officer opens her mouth, I feel instantly angry and annoyed. If I was the one she was questioning, I would have already told both of them to find someone else to talk to me because they're not listening and the female rubs me the wrong way! Does anyone else feel this way or is it just me?

I agree totally. I would say to her "are you gonna keep checking your phone, or talk to me properly with eye contact?" Like this woman detective has no idea how to interrogate and the man also. But the woman kept coughing over and over, i would have said, "excuse me, can i get out of this small room with you coughing all over everyone, and get someone else to talk to who is not sick like you!!" Ffs both these detectives should go back to school

The videos of Jorge begging Sarah and telling her that he can't breathe makes me so sad. What a horrific way to die. She had every INTENTION of killing him. Whether her INTENTION was before or after she got him in the suitcase really doesn't matter. Edit: "Its all backfired on me!" What she really said was "I thought I would get away with it." At least that's what I think.

Ive been following this case for 4 years, and Sarah Boone is now representing her personality disorder murderous self at trial. So that's going to be Darell Brooks wild. But what actually amazes me the MOST is that Sarah Boone is not a 20 something... she is a 42 year old woman. I'm in my 40s and I can't imagine arguing with police over how I left my bf smothering in a suitcase while drunk. Its sooooo crazy.

I'm no interrogator but this one drove me insane. Between clunking to get the laptop to work, the constantly coughing lady cop and the male cop with no plan. I just couldn't stand to watch it all the way through. The coughing alone would have been enough for me to put a stop to the questions if I had been in the room.

Every time she insisted what her plan was NOT, they should have asked what her plan was, or let her keep talking, but they interrupt to argue with her over stuff that didn't matter, like 5 minutes versus 20. What was her plan? If she had been allowed to speak, we would know.
