Arent those like $300+ scales? Not trying to be negative at all. Ive gone through the configurator tons of times making crazy combos. Its always cool to actually see them realized.

I’m not sure what they charge for just the scales but with mammoth and Damascus, this knife was not cheap.

And I didn’t take it as negative. It’s kind of a crazy amount to spend on a fixed blade but considering the materials it is actually priced pretty well. There is another mammoth and Damascus knife I want that’s at least $100 more than this one. I haven’t been able to justify this other knife to myself though since the handle is a little small.

That's a sweet knife. Mine is the raindrop impala with red liners. I really like the liners and mosaic pins on mammoth scales. The knife really fits my hands (S-M). My sheath was tight, and I worked it open with a wooden spoon, and then carefully, and repeatedly moved the knife in and out of the sheath. First only a quarter of an inch in and out at the well. Eventually the well opened up. I also pushed it in and out with the blade up, aiming the tip of the knife to the base of the sheath. The sheath fits very well after ten minutes of careful, and deliberate work. Thanks for sharing. p.s. DLT got the knife to me in Australia in one week with their standard shipping. I appreciate they charge just for shipping and not for handling.

Thanks for the great tips. The wooden spoon is a great idea. I’m a little concerned the grommet on my sheath is a mm or so in the wrong spot. The sheath is fairly worked in now but the grommet is causing the very back part of the blade to dull so I think there is some contact or compression on the edge. I’ll keep working it and see what happens. Either way, I am loving the blade. Impala is nice and red is a great choice for liners against the black impala.

Consider buying one premium knife you can have for the rest of your life; in the long run, a $400 knife (PSK EDC Burly Maple with Liners and Mosaic Pins) becomes affordable.

I'll never buy another bark river. 5 years ago they were awesome. They got too big in my opinion. Too many amazing custom makers who can get even bevels and email you back.

I think they are still great but their competition is much stiffer now for sure. Companies like White River Knives have incredible designs and consistent fit and finish and smaller makers are producing quality products at great prices.

I think as far as quality and consistency, tops have never let me down even though I don't agree with some of their design choices. Lately I like wachtman...again with popularity goes the quality it seems...I dunno...small makers who still have the passion is where it's at.
