The Tokina Cinema 25-75mm T2.9 zoom lens is one of the only cinema zoom lenses to offer a focal length coverage in the industry standard range of 24-70mm that you see any many other zoom lenses like the Sony 24-70, Sigma 24-70 and Canon 24-70. This is one of 3 cinema zoom lenses that make up a complete set from Tokina, the other two being the Tokina Cinema 11-20mm and Tokina Cinema 50-135mm.

Hey Chadwin! Quick question. Does the Tokina 11-20 vignettes at 11mm when paired with smallrig mini mattebox 3196? They would make such a great compact pairs! Thanks!

Nope, it doesn’t vignette with the SmallRig mini mattebox at any focal length from 11-20mm. However, if you have the top flag on and down, it will show up at your widest angle. I usually use my matteboxes without the top flag for this reason

Yeah man, it’s a very nice lens, great quality! It’s a decent size investment up front though…💰
Unrelated to this video but I think you should try doing an experimental rig where you attempt to built out a DJI RS2 into a form factor similar to the new Ronin 4D. I've been trying to build mine into a similar formfactor for a while now and I'd be interested to see what you come up with

haha that would definitely be a fun challenge. I was thinking about that yesterday since the release of the 4D, but I'm not sure yet what it would even look like. maybe you've already got a good head start on this rig build?!

@@chadwin I wouldn't say I've gotten a great head start lol. So far I have the rs2+ tilta power base attached to some rods with a V-mount battery. I have the battery mounted horizontally on the rods so it doesn't knock into the gimbal, and I put the tripod base of the RS2 on the bottom of the battery cheese plate so the whole thing can still be set down without tipping over. It could definitely be more compact and I'm still looking for a decent Z-stabilization solution which I think is a pretty important element

Does the matte box cause vignetting?

No, it doesn’t cause any vignetting. If you’re shooting really wide and have to top flag on, you will see it if it’s not tilted up enough though.

The 11-20 on the Komodo.
I would rather get the DZO Pictor Zoom 50-125mm -for half the price!

the Pictor Zooms are certainly much cheaper! what I will say, having shot on both now, the pictors are much softer and tend to bloom more, which some people may prefer!
I’ve thought about this lens… looks good!

yeah, it's a really nice lens! pretty heavy but solid.
