I've had my 1200X for 3 months and I'm very happy with it, road use only. I had a Street Scrambler which I also really liked but often thought a 1200 version would be perfect for me. Enter the 1200X which is, basically, much closer to a SS than a 1200XE. The XE/XC never interested me, never gave them a second look. I just don't get so called "off road" bikes that weigh 220+Kg. My enduro bike is almost 3" taller than a XE so seat height is a non issue for me. It's also 100+kg lighter!👍 Premium badges mean little to me so the "loss" of Ohlins and Brembo doesn't really bother me. The brakes and suspension on the X are more than up to the job, remember, this is primarily a ROAD bike with very limited off road ability. I was a bit disappointed with the dash though, not because it isn't full TFT but I think the styling is all wrong for a retro styled bike but it wasn't a deal breaker. The XC was just a cheaper XE so is the X just a cheaper XC? No, it's a new bike with a different focus.😀

I have met Willie in person and he allowed me to ride off into the forest on his RE Classic 350. I got lost and was gone for about 20 minutes! When I finally found my way back, Willie was all smiles and as cool as a cucumber. A great bloke in my book. The big arrogant, narcissistic, lanky git! 😂😂😂

Some years ago, somebody tried an attempted a character assassination on me, which I found was somewhat difficult to handle. Looking back in hindsight, hiring Willie would have been the ideal person to respond to those who backstabbed me. Anyway, it's good to hear Willie's articulate & assertive style in how to deal with complaints. I feel better listening to him.

Regarding the X, they purposefully removed several premium and performance features to make it more what they advertise as 'approachable' to more riders. It's the same reason they stopped making my Thruxton RS after this year, the majority of the market who buys bikes right now has shifted to wanting less intimidating bikes, reason for the lower seat height. Also the same reason why the 400s and REs are all selling like hot cakes the past year. It's unfortunately as I prefer a big premium all bells and whistle 1200+ cc bike but I doubt theyll make many new ones in the next 5-10 years if this stays the course.

@2wheeledwillie395 they completely downgraded parts on the XE as well this model year compared to prior, they advertise as updated brakes and forks but essentially they ditched brembo and ohlins in some areas for lesser/cheaper parts . If you search in the specs you'll see. Most people who didn't keep up with the models through the years won't notice and think they're buying the same XE from last year

Richard was quite the Dick. I think we all have a bit of the narcissist in our personality but we can blend it with other aspects of our personalities to be well adjusted people that play well with others. The 1200 Scrambler X, I think it is a more affordably built motorcycle than its predecessors. At 5'8" I'd like to take one for a ride but I'm afraid I'd get smitten and there'd be another bike shoehorned into the garage. 😁
