You should do a follow-up video after having them for six months, and maybe the one year anniversary. People could see if those wrinkles settled out, and I'd be interested about sun fading on the leather versus the vinyl panels. Plus anything else you have learned over the six months.

I had it done and three weeks later I have a piece of metal sticking out of the front seats. Now Katzkin and their installer are giving me the runaround.

My installer has done it same day on 3 cars. Never had had issues on any car. Life long katskinz Customer. My hellcat and last car are both canary red with black inserts and black diamond/quilted stitched with door panels and center console done. Paid $1750 cash for the hellcat and last car. Car before was plain OEM stitching with single canary red color for $1200. I also don't believe they use any vinyl it should be 100% leather. Like you said wrinkles disappear within a couple days/weeks

I paid $1,800 for Katskins in my 20/20 Toyota tundra. Thought I was getting leather seats. Little did. I know there's only a little bit of leather down the middle. The vinyl on the sides is shit. I had them warranty to replace both my front seats and the driver seat is trashed again already that is after I bought Caltrend neoprene seat covers to go over them to try to protect the leather for some longevity but they ripped underneath it. It's unbelievable how cheapfully they're made. They're nice and soft. Don't get me wrong and they're beautiful at first but they're cheaply made. They're not very good quality. Please don't make the same mistake. I did 1,800 a lot of money for vinyl seats that don't last. That is a very true review. All these other people blowing smoke up their ass or they haven't used their vehicles very much. They do not like being used a seats because they don't last cloth. Would have lasted longer. I shouldn't have to buy $300 seat covers to cover my $1,800 leather that still gets trashed underneath the seat covers. MY REVIEW IS THE TRUTH! SO MANY PEOPLE JUST LIE THESE DAYS

I don't understand why the installation cost so much usually that should be a lot cheaper. The custom leather does cost a lot so I understand the price for making them but installation yea no I'd rather do it myself

Appreciate ya input. I figured these werent 100% leather which i knew it wouldnt have been from the get go. I dnt see myself paying tht much to redo my seats in a 06 silverado. I wonder though if there's any company tht does sell actual leather...

Most of the economy GM vehicles are like this. My 14' Chevy Sonic LT is the same way.

I am glad I came across your video. I was just looking at using Katzkin. I am disappointed they actually mix vinyl in their upholstery. You did not say they informed you they were going to mix in some vinyl. I would have an issue with that if I weren't told ahead of time since they do advertise as "Katzkin Leather Seats". You are such a chill guy you don't even mind the hanging threads they left behind for you to trim yourself. It is a sign of sloppy workmanship. The leather smell, I am not looking forward to because it is probably toxic, but it will eventually dissipate. The wrinkles I do not mind very much. I think they add character to the leather material. Your video is a year old so I probably have to pay more. I just sent them my information via email. I should find out how much they cost by tomorrow or Monday since it is the weekend. Thanks for the informative video.

The place that did it already sent me back to Katzkin, who told me that thay need to take a look at it before they decide what to do. So my happiness ladted three weeks.

@amarria tate total was $1800 and they finally fixed my issue. Glad I did it. It really does upgrade the look and feel.

Man, I just got katskin in my truck and the total was 1200$ with the install and they will do my carpet if I bring it with the truck.

Wow looks good. I wonder if they could do that for my 84 Mercedes or are these proprietary?

Thanks! I think any local upholstery place can probably do it. Also, I think Katzkin has a network of installation partners so you might be able to local one in your area by calling Katzkin or their website. I'd also google Katzkin and your zip code to see if you can find a local place listed.

Peter, looks good. I just did a katzkin cognac interior too. Just a heads up. Your katzkin retailer can order katzkin vinyl by the yard. Its like $25 a yard. If you get 1 yard, maximum 2 yards. You'd be able to do all the trim in the doors that's black to cognac vinyl. And it'll pop even more. And wrap the armrest. If you wanted to make it even more nice

My guess is that the front passenger seat back was plastic to begin with. Generally, kids sit on the passenger side backseat and like to kick the seat in front. Or we can just let PVP answer himself.

FYI....it will void your vehicle warranty if you still have warranty. Also your side airbag from your seat will not fully function or deploy in an accident.

Do you mean that changing your seats would void any warranty on the seats, or that the manufacturer would refuse to honor power train and emissions warranties? The latter would be illegal under US federal and some state laws. Disabling airbags would also be illegal if they were part of the original vehicle certification. Please clarify what you mean.

I paid like $1,200 to get my PT Cruiser reupholstered back in 2019. They wouldn't let me install it myself and I don't think it's real leather.

You definitely can. There are lots of videos that generally show how to install leather seat covers. I don't think it's "hard" per se, but it looks like a lot of work.

If this was leather just for it it would’ve like a 1000 because you need like 3 hides Leather is sold by hide not by yard

They aren’t t full leather. It’s ridiculous how much they charge for vinyl with some leather. My buddy has them on his Tacoma. This product is a joke.
