I figure probably another 1000 to get them installed I need to call around to local shops to get estimates then I will make my decision on if I want to go ahead and pull the trigger or wait till I have a bit more money

Do you guys appreciate it more when people are honest with you or when they tell you what you want to hear or what sounds good? I was considering having Katskin replace the leather for my Mercedes SUV, however, although I like some of the color combinations used in the samples on the wall... but you guys don't make the leather tight enough. When I look at my seats from the factory, they (almost) seem like the seats were sewn together with the cushions underneath. One of the people who commented in this section said something about there not being any wrinkles... I'm guessing they didn't see what I saw.

In my area the have to have a mobile teck out, now will he have a steamer on board and a stapler like in a shop

I have a 1996 f250 with to buckets and center council that becomes a seat. Do you have a kiit for this? It's a super cab also for rear fold down seat

how much did it cost to replace the fabric?

@@josurquilla Don't have an exact price yet. Options came to $7700 and I'm guessing the new msrp is gunna be around $124k so maybe $132-133k? Plus all the taxes and license so I've budgeted as high as $140k, kinda silly money for a car but it fits all our wishes..:)

A few years ago I bought my wife an Outback for her 50th birthday. I’ve always had leather seats and I had ordered her an Outback with Leather, but she insisted that she wanted cloth, so I changed the order. Three months after buying the Outback she came to me and said that I was right and that she should have gotten leather. So for Christmas, I bought custom 2 tone Leather seats for her Outback. She was completely shocked. Her Outback is Cinnamon Brown Pearl with Ivory interior. Her new seats are medium brown on the outside bolsters and Ivory in the center. She carpools and has had so many compliments on her interior. That was 2 years ago and they still look like new. My 23 Tacoma TRD Off Road, double cab, 6’ bed with Premium and Technology pkgs has Black Leather interior and I HATE Black or Grey, so I’m saving up the money to have Katzkin make TRD Red Leather with black trim and stitching for my truck. My truck is White and I’ve had in 2 toned in Barcelona Red metallic, following the body lines of truck. The Red Leather with Black trim and stitching will really set it off. I sold the black leather to a friend who also has a 23 TRD, but his truck has grey cloth interior. He’s super excited about getting my black leather.

After having them installed for a bit do u think they are higher quality than factory leather from Toyota? From what I've seen the wear from getting in and out doesn't show up on the side of the seat in wrinkles or unusual wear.

Toyota doesn't use leather anymore. They use softex which is synthetic leather.

Yes, they certainly can. However, we charge a little more as we have to remove more of the interior trim pieces to install them and we have to lengthen the wiring harnesses.

No, they will charge a little extra and will install your heating elements

Increase the value about $1,000 and seat covers and installation costs $2,000 is a good deal

I didn't get my seats upholstered with leather just for financial value. Leather seats takes your vehicle to another dimension and the smile on my face every time in get in my car and smell that leather is priceless.

Yes and no. It does go over your existing seat, but it's a lot more intricate than your standard AutoZone seat cover. It's the same exact type of upholstery they use from the factory. We remove the cloth (or old leather) and attach this brand new leather using the factory listings, hog rings, and other attachment points. Let us know if you'd like to upgrade to Katzkin!

A lot longer than factory ones. They have more leather content than factory leather and the quality is better too. Katzkin offers a 3 year/36k mile warranty and we back our installs with the same warranty. But we've seen Katzkin replace leather well beyond that period as they take great pride in their quality!

Got a question: I currently have a Toyota Tundra with leather interior, but it's stiff as hell. Wondering if I can swap out for a softer leather?? There’s no need to use the steam on the seat cushions for covers that are crafted to fit like Katzkins… And he used way too much steam, which is why he stretch the leather too much, and it’s a bit baggy at the end, making it look more like a universal fit cover. I wouldn’t take my car there. 😬

I went with the leatherette as I believe they might hold up longer. Plus no one other than me is really in the vehicle much and I don’t drive it much, so we’ll see.

Hey LazyBrosVidz, thank you for leaving a comment. Our Katzkin kits have higher leather content that factory "leather" interiors and also use higher grade leather. They attach to the seats the same way the factory leather does using all of the factory listings and hog ring attachment points. If you see any wrinkles in the video, it was probably footage from right after the kit came out of the shipping box, and before we were finished with the install. At Autoplex, we take extra steps to ensure a wrinkle-free install. We steam the leather to remove wrinkles and make the leather more pliable and stretchy for the install. Then we sit the seats under infrared heat lamps to tight up the leather (not shown in this video). After a few days of sitting in the sun, the leather will shrink even more, creating an extra-tight fit. Out leather will outperform factory leather in durability and style, guaranteed! 😁👍

@@darylyoung7675 - Leatherette is vinyl, and doesn't hold up as well as real leather. It provides more stretch, but long term durability of vinyl is inferior. Like factory "leather", Katzkin kits use leather on high contact areas, and vinyl on areas that need more stretch for better fitment. But in most factory kits, the OEM cuts costs by using vinyl on high contact areas that should be leather. This is what make Katzkin the superior leather interior option!
