TYRES I was wrong. You can change your tyres without it effecting your warranty. You can choose any brand you like. However, they have to be the same size. Hope that clears things up a bit 👍

Iam a fellow fiesta owner, had the previous MK8 ST2 and I see conflicting KZread reviews, when there is a comparison with the 120 and to the Ford, I think they can be subjective. I have a new ST-3 8.5 and I would say Ford have improved it, the engine definitely has more pull and seats are better than the pre-face lifted car, I love my car, it's a keeper 👍🔥

Just curious if what you think of both cars, I haven't had the chance to have a go in a 120, seen one a few weeks back in the hero blue colour looked smart, but I think it would attract a lot of unwanted attention 🤦 but having a Race Red car probably sticks out just as much😅

I ve got a I30N and absolutely LOVE it had it just over a year, cheap insurance and tax, only thing is it does like a drop of the old V Power.😉

I am hopefully collecting my i20 N next week....l sold an Abarth competizione a few years ago, and have regretted it ever since....After driving both the ST and N the Hyundai, to me aleast seems to have the same drama and sense of occasion as my little abarth, can't wait to pick it up. Great review particularly in regards to what is affordable, l am a working class guy on a modest wage, there is no way on earth that l could get behind the wheel of a Yaris !!!

They’ve done a great job coming out of nowhere and taking the fight to the establishment names. Nicking Albert Biermann was a bloody good move.

The GR Yaris is in a different league, but in cost, as well.😮

That is a smart looking car. I think if I had to buy one I would buy a second hand Mercedes’ A45 tho. That Mini Amg also looks hip.

To be fair it would be more in line to compare this Hyundai with Ford Fiesta Performance Edition because of their specs but at least with the ST3 with a RRP OF £25,500 plus and very importantly the extra 2 year warranty. The 0 to 60 is 6 seconds - the 100 kph/62mph is 6.2 seconds- it’s the UK being it’s usual rollover and tickle my belly soft arse approach to everything!! Great review / great car / great warranty 👍👍

Yeah prices were too high on my m240i for me to say no. Had the car for 22 months and did 10k miles then sold it for more than I bought it for. Was a no brainer for me

Rational, though I’m not sure about the speed one. Round a track, the i20n is so focused that I think it would surprise and I doubt it’s too far behind the i30n even…

I’d go i20n if I was in the market for a small hot hatch. I’ve got a 140 myself though and for the money I don’t think you can get more car. It’s just insurance, servicing and running costs where I imagine the i20n is a lot cheaper

Interesting that you give it a 2 for speed - it's quicker 0-60 that the FIST and would absolutely demolish the Polo around a track/twisty bit of road with it's weight advantage and LSD.

The GR Yaris is a rally rep and not a traditional fwd hot hatch. The i20n and fiesta st are modern day versions of the williams,205 gti,r5 turbo..and imo a FWD light hot hatch is a whole lot more fun!!

Hi mate, loved the video and your opinions on the i20N! I'm just curious as to where you got the information regarding the warranty being void if the tyres are changed to something other than the P Zero HNs? I own an i30N and there was a lot of controversy around the same thing. Turns out it was dealerships misinforming customers and as long as the tyre size is identical then the warranty remains in tact (almost everyone despises the p zeros in the i30N world and quickly replaces them for Pilot Sport 4S's). Maybe Hyundai have taken a firmer stance this time round with the i20N and have restricted the change of tyres, which I believe is a serious let down and maybe applies to the facelift i30N and new Kona N too! Be great to hear where this has come from as it'll no doubt cause a lot of controversy again😂😂 Keep up the good work pal👍

My dad has an Astra GTE growing up as well, and whenever we talk cars he says I should get a hot hatch, but I keep saying theyre too much and the insurance is a nightmare if i ever want to retire before the age of 112. On the topic of the GR yaris, was sat behind one yesterday and honestly I dont like the look of it in person. Its a cool car but its not what I'd call pretty, or what id like to spend my money on right now

I have a Fiesra ST I am trading it in for a 120N

The hyundai is only given 2 for speed while the ford gets 4 because it's mostly sensation of speed vs actual speed. The hyundai is a 0-60 is 6 seconds car and while you will do that In a couple of attempts you'll be struggling well into 5+ attempts and settling on 6.3 seconds if you're lucky from the fiesta.

What happened to the Gr Yaris?

is it worth getting one without LSD? How often do you actually use the benefits of LSD on public roads? I am tempted because its way cheaper.

You can't buy one in the UK without the LSD fitted unless you drop down to a normal i20

To be fair, if you ordered the GR before they sold out the finance was pretty good at nearly 0% finance. I put £6k down and its £320 a month. The Hyundai i20n with the same deposit is £288 a month. My first car was an Astra GSI , it was 5yrs old (60k miles) and was £163 a month loan and £140 a month insurance back in 1997. Cars were expensive back then, no cheap finance, car insurance sky high. Now I see young lads in brand new Golf Rs and Focus STs with performance stats the same or better than an Escort Cosworth.

Yes but you will never own it ....PCP deals are a rip off....you would be better of leasing with an all inclusive service deal....If you can afford £320 a month and lose your deposit good on you.

@@TheFatboyslim61 Lose your deposit on a GR Yaris? They are £6k above list price. I've always had PCP deals, never bothered me. Leasing is a pure loss of money. Initial payment +36 payments and you have zero equity. My last car was £20k with £4k down and I just sold it for £18k, final payment £14k so got my £4k back. It does depend on what you buy and a bit of luck with the market. If you intend to keep the car, PCP is a good way of getting a car you can't afford with a straight Hire Purchase.

It would have been nice if they had about 250bhp stock. Putting it more in line with a JCW or GR Yaris, power wise. Hot hatches have doubled in weight so in my head need to have twice the power. 1 reason they won't do that. The i30n 😅

GR is another kind of car... Is not the same of Polo Gti or St or Fr or 208 Gt ecc... Is a different traction and funny car in every conditions. I20 n is a perfect hothatch so ... Mh let me think .. 27.ooo € or 40.000 ? For the same segment.. I 20 n owner...

I20 vs Fiesta I'd go I20 all day long - it is however so far behind a GR Yaris its untrue. I dont see the appeal of the I20 however, if you really want a Hyundai just buy the I30, it will atleast then tick most boxes for a hot hatch buyer. Any owner of the I20 best hope they dont see a GR out on the open road - the feeling of regret will be most painful. GR at 34k is a steal - you can't create such a special machine for peanuts. You also wont have to worry about depreciation on the GR!

It's silly to compare this to the GR though because it's in a different league of price. You can buy an FK8 Type R for the price of a GR which is arguably the king of hot hatches and a class higher. Likewise, the i30N is a C segment car, again a different league in terms of size and price.

And the Polo is an absolute shed - surely nobody still buys a Polo GTI - the least sporty car money can buy

Yeah, I actually think it is too now. Not 100% sure where I got that information from or why I included it without checked during the edit. Maybe it was the track day insurance on the i30n it affected... Hold my hands up on this one - I fudged up.

Hyundai i20N is definitely more practical than GR Yaris. 1. There is a reason why there's not many Yaris's are made. It is designed for certain people only. Most people live in city and don't do burnout drifting around the block on tar roads. So why would you overpay for a small hatch designed for rallying? 2. The Yaris has no leg room or space at the back for passengers. Are you really getting the car to take people around and use for everyday or showing off? So for people to get a Yaris and say it suits them for everyday, they are lying to themselves. You can't drive a GR Yaris how it was meant to be driven, so how is that practical? You can try and probably be fined or have your car impounded for hooning.

0-60 and top speed combined average Admittedly 100-200 times should have been used aswell. Probably would have beaten the polo in 2/3 areas bumping it up to 3rd place, however I could just go on and on and on with data 😅

Giving the Polo a higher score on speed is weird. Top speed? Because off the line, if you go custom N mode with traction off, the i20n is WAY faster than the Polo GTI. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Sorry. It doesn't come close to the GR Yaris. It's slower, the GR Yaris standard does 0-60 in 4.6 in real world tests. It's FWD with 1 x LSD, the GR is permanent AWD (not fake 4WD, like Haldex systems seen in the likes of the Golf R), and the GR also has 2 x Torsen limited slip differentials, front and rear. The GR has much, much better breaks. The GR has to be built by hand in a specialist factory, where as the I20N is made on a standard production line. I enjoyed to video, but the GR's price tag is worth every penny.

@@lookship it's not just the performance to factor in, it's the sum of its parts - carbon roof, aluminium, 2 LSD's and a £6k set of forged wheels all add up. Also consider the values, say 3 years down the line - I reckon a 3 year old I20 could be 15k, the GR could well still start with a 3! 10k loss on the Hyundai vs virtually free motoring in the GR. Keep the cars 20 years and i think we all know what's going to happen with GR values........ 🚀🚀🚀🚀
