The Canon 80D has an EF/EF-S mount, so that's the first thing you need to look for. Next step is to find your lens' filter thread size, which is usually printed on the front of the lens. The Canon 50mm 1.8 STM has a 49mm size, meaning your reverse adapter should be and EF/EF-S mount with a 49mm filter thread size. E.g. a Canon 50mm 1.2 has a 72mm filter thread size, meaning you'll need a EF/EF-S mount with a 72mm filter thread size. Hope this helps!

I’ve used and changed many Canon cameras, the 600d included, but my 50mm 1.8 stm has always been with me ;)
i mean it is cheap, light (compared to 1.2 50mm L) and very good... using it with my old 5d mark iv.

I compared the 2 lenses in another video, and although the 1.4 is faster, it’s rather poorly built. I’ve later sold the 1.4 ;)
Its most definitely NOT the best lens ever! Its just a basic 50mm 1.8 thats good. The only reason why it sells so well is because ITS CHEAP. Every other camera maker has their 50mm 1.8 thats just as good or if not better than the Canon stm, and they're all cheap. Its a sad situation for Canon when their most popular lens is the cheap 50mm 1.8, because in other brands what is popular is something else or a series of other lenses.

In my experience, the Sony 50/1.8 is sharper at 1.8 than the Canon; I owned both and used them heavily (5DIII, A7II)

The lens is trash. Its only real benefit is the price and that it's 1.8.

It’s light, small, has good colours, accurate focus.. it’s sharp. Bokeh is acceptable… Can take professional looking photos… Trash??? Canon 50 1.4 can’t even beat it in most areas!
