Such a funny way to explain loved it 😊
Thanks for the detailed comparison. I will keep using my iPhone for videography😀
Hi! would you recomend an RGB tube or the Weeylite? i want to iluminate backgraunds for videos and maybe some product photography.
I have been a photogrpaher for 4 years now. I have used lenses worth as much as $5,000. The Nifty Fifty is the most versitle. Light weight, not obnoxious, great bokeh, sharp. You can always move around and get closer as needed. Definitely the best for Portraits and street.
Brilliant. God bless you brothet
Hi should I do this every time Im about to upload a video or just if I have copyright claim? thanks
🔥🙂↔️
Thanks bro. But 500 grand is a way too expensive for a plug in.
This is very helpful, thank you for explaining
wow I totally didn't see Apple working for Apple. Who would have thought :O
With DNR, 'generate proxy media' can be used. I've had mixed results and avoid it myself. Shutter Encoder program with 'DNxHR' codec works great.
I’m using this lens on a Canon EOS M50 Mark II, any tips on how I should deal with the flash shadow that happens when using the built in flash, because this lens is too big? Do I just need to get a mounted flash or is there something else I could do
Hello Paul, can you please send the link for the light behind you on the table(yellow light that look like a lamp)
Hey! It's from IKEA and it's called TÄRNABY table lamp.
This is actually scaryyyy
Lol! Scary good ;)
What is the lens hood for the Yongnuo 52mm lens?
I'm getting more and more claims on music used through my Motion Array subscription. instead of creating, I now have to chase these spurious claims... I have used their 'fast' resolving system and it does not work.
I've just bought a LaCie Rugged Pro thunderbolt SSD for my 2018 Mac Mini, after upgrading the RAM to 32GB. I've tested the LaCie's speeds, and I'm getting over 2,600MB for read and write. I've now set up the Properties and Project Settings on Resolve to use the new SSD for render files and proxy files. I keep original media on a separate, slower Sandisk SSD (read & write speeds just over 1,000MB). The LaCie drive has been my best investment so far. Using thunderbolt you can achieve much higher speeds than USB-C. If you optimise the Properties and Project Settings, you can get on with your projects without even noticing the rendering that's going on in the background.
Thank you so much now i can go get a 50mm
You will not regret it ;)
Very good! Thank you
Glad you liked it!
I could see it but only when looking at your eyes
Yeah, I can see it in the eyes and beard ;)
Hi! Would you recommend the tamron 24-70 f2.8 g2 or the canon ef 24-70 f4? Which one is sharper? Which one is better overall?
Hey! I like a faster lens (f2.8) as I can get a blurrier background and it's MUCH better in low light. The Canon might be a bit sharper, but overall the Tamron is imho better overall. Hope this helps ;)
@PaulHeimlund Thanks it does! 😊
I use a mac w fcp and drop my footage w/o transcoding or proxies the cut and playback w/o rendering. Unless i add noise reduction. What am i using?😂Thank You
My trouble is that DaVinci Resolve 19 doesn't support the H.264 High L5.2 video file. Could you help me? THANKS!
A CMOS sensor labeled as 1080p (1920x1080 pixels) may not deliver true 1080p resolution. This is because each photosite captures only one color (red, green, or blue) using a Bayer filter. The process of demosaicing interpolates missing color information, which can reduce effective resolution. Our eyes cannot see more than 1080p pixel resolution at a normal viewing distance, whether it's cinema, TV, or smartphone. However, it is important to capture more than 1080p pixels because 1080p is not "true 1080p."
A static studio test between FHD and 4K will show nothing on a capable camera with high bit rate. Outside, on a park: that's another story.
Yeah! That’s what I found out as well ;)
Differences were easy to spot, but I wouldn't skip any video with good information/relevant information in 1080 or even 720p.
Well done! Did you watch it on a phone or a bigger screen?
@@PaulHeimlund macbook pro 14
I know this video is a little old but I stumbled across it. Aside from ram and ssd the factor that is affecting your playback, rendering, etc is your gpu. You have a 4gb Radeon in there which isn’t terrible, but I’d def recommend at least an RX 580 or more for editing 4k smoothly. Thanks for the video!
You talked about bitrate being the culprit between the 4K and the 1080p on the Canon 1DX, i want to correct you and sayd that you are wrong. The bitrate is more than enough for 1080p, the problem with that Canon camera is that it took an image sensor reading of about 800 lines for 1080p (at least this is what my 5D MK3 did iirc), while the new cameras usually down sample from 4K to 1080p, that's why the new cameras have very good 1080p compared to older ones. Even my Sony A7III has a poor 1080p mode, not as bad as the Canon but still noticeable. Down sample is the key word on the new cameras, as for watching content on mobile some will not even be able to pick between 720p and 4K ...
Very good point! Down sampling in newer cameras is definitely making 1080 and in many occasions 4k look very good. Although, bitrate is also very important, especially when color grading and fx work, but I think that’s a video in itself ;) Thanks for sharing!
A7III does 1080p by reading the whole sensor area and skipping "lines" of pixels making the image look soft with aliasing ☠️
@@anssiaatos Not good… :-(
I'm watching on a 27inch iMac 5k monitor at full screen and I don't think there is that much of a difference in image quality. I shoot corporate video with Sony FX30 and G lenses in the lowest 4k setting, 4:2:0 8bit and then scale down to HD to edit and export. I have loads of room for the basic colour grading I need to do, the video quality is 100% as far as I can see, clients are happy and file sizes are manageable. Still worth shooting 4k over HD as it gives more options with cropping when you're editing. Might be a different story if I was making content for TV or Cinema (or maybe if you are doing something very creative which requires some sort of extreme colour grading), but for standard web and social were it will mostly be viewed on mobile, there's no point slowing your workflow dealing with big files just to get a very small increase in quality that only photographers and creatives will notice - unless your client is a photographer of course.
Lol regarding the client being a photographer! Absolutely true! ;) I was surprised to see how easy it was to grade 4:2:0 (in my case 10bit which helps), and editing, exporting, and delivery is a dream this way. And yes, unless your video is for tv, “lower” quality definitely works. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the vid! Should I upload my music video in 4k or 1080p? Will the compression be worse with 4k?
Most footage looks better if uploaded in 4k, even though it’s only filmed in 4k. You can also upload some tests and make the videos private to see for yourself ;)
Is the crop because of image stabilation?
Yes ;)
As Always Paul, great video, and watching in my iPhone 14 Max Pro, I did not see a huge difference, however in my iMac 27" can clearly see a difference, thanks a lot 👍🏼😉
Yeah, on a phone it’s really hard to see any difference. A 27” iMac or tv will help a lot 😜 Cheers! 🙏🏼
Love your content. Helps with this "4K vs 1080p" should I or should I disaster in my head!!
Thanks man! Glad you found the video helpful :)
Thank you for this video. I watch KZread on PC, so i was able to see it. I'm not a god, but i knew all of them. But it is easy if you know what to see. You have ton's of detail in your hair and beard. That's why it was easy to see. But i think if it's just a 1080p video, no one would know.
Yeah, the devil is in the details, as they say 😉 Completely agree with you: no one would notice or at least react to a video uploaded in hq 1080p.
@@PaulHeimlund And we could even trick them to edit on a 4k timeline and export and KZread would recognize as 4k. 😆
Your videos look so pro
Thanks!🙏🏼
"...Your videos look so pro" - that might be down to Paul being an actual professional; just a thought... :-)
@@derekchapman5167 Hahaha! Thanks man ;-)
There were times when I had passion but no money. 20D + 50mm, 30D + 50mm.. It taught me a lot. Apsc making it 80mm was a challenge. Zooming with my feet stopped being an issue after a while. Then I got 5D Classic and 50mm STM. I own it 9 years. I got used to ff+50mm so much that I cant put it away today. 5Dc is still a pretty competitive camera even though it is from the year 2005. However, the need of a video and a wish, a dream to make a progress in gear, made me make an order for R6ii+rf50. Picking it up this friday. Cant wait for the new opportunities out there. Lacking the expensive gear made me realize and proved it is not about the gear. Ps - luv ur vids!
Congrats on your new kit! I’m sure you’re gonna love it! Thanks for sharing :)
Thanks for this! I already have published it hopefully it will still work.
Thank you so much Paul for this insight, please what do you say about the Aputure Amaran 100ds Day-light Balance as a key light. What affordable background lights can I pair to it? Secondly, between the Ifootage Key light and Aputure Amaran key light, which do you recommend to be a stronger and better daylight balance video light. I await your feedback, thanks.
Hey! Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. Both Aputure Amaran and iFootage are amazing lights. Personally I use iFootage. In most cases, if you film indoors, a 60w light is sufficient as a key light and I'd go for the SL1 60DN, as it has the most accurate daylight on the market. Remember to use a softbox! The background lights depends on what look you want. I've made several videos on KZread setups. Check those out to get more tips. Hope this helps! ;)
I dont think you understand what are you doing... No disrespect, but anyone who tells me you cannot make good photos with kit lens, just doesnt understand how image works... Also the kit lens from 80s and 90s, or 70s. Are frekin amazing!!!! like 28-135. ZEISS 50. And so on...
You’re absolutely right! It was meant as a joke ;) However, the kit lens I got with my Canon T3i was really bad, and the kit lens I got with my Lumix GH6 is amazing!
@@PaulHeimlund Thanks for the comment. Keep going :)
Not even gonna show it working? F
Great video thanks. I have the Canon eos m50 , I use the viltrox speedbooster, Im planing to buy this 50mm lens, do you think its possible to flip around the lens and use it for macro as you said, take in mind i have to use the viltrox speedbooster.
Can I use this device to send video from my Tricaster to other monitor(s) within range? Or is it only meant to transmit video from a camera directly?
I had to stop watching. You kept on saying "SDD", I just couldn't tolerate it anymore.
Thanks for the video
May I ask what the 10 times more expensive slider was? I just want to avoid spending money!
It's a motorized Edelkrone slider with a motorized head. It's more professional, but not worth the money, as it's noisy and constantly stops and disconnects. Their newer versions might be better, but if you need a motorized slider without the need of tilting the camera, the Toprig 60 is fantastic!
You change so many creators life with this video! Thanks man
Happy to hear that!
Honestly, looks better without either filter. Better off with a variable polarization filter and then do all this post using color finale or equivalent
Who to download those sound effect in mobile
great video thanks
Thanks for the video, does it have remote control?
You can control the slider with your phone. The Accsoon app works with both iOS and Android.
