I'm assuming the reason why move decay is a thing is that you check do infinite check cycles on the king and there is no 50 turn rule and in general stalemates are very easy to reach

Ngl I’m ready for him to review every single piece in the entire game because it’s epic

Morale is balanced. Whenever you pay Morale, indenture a piece. If you lose 5 indentured pieces, you lose.

This stuff about piece value is so weird, because it causes stuff like it's actually not worth it to trade pieces even though there might be a positional advantage, because piece value actually matters in win lose conditions

yeah lol, sometimes in OOCBA the morale mechanic makes it not worth doing massive material sacrifice to get the king like losing 2 queens or something and it's just disappointing

i'm kinda tempted to ask (since you're looking for video ideas) that you make an army that's just 'how do i make this chess fight so stall-y and boring that the opponent quits from boredom?' like killing exactly one piece, then just swapping 2 pieces around waiting for the opponent to die from moral bleedout.

Big fan that you open all videos by throwing shade at the spaghetti monster.

I have vague memories of playing old old CBA on Kongregate and then quitting after a few games because it takes 15 minutes only to match against a bot. Chess battle advanced

There's old chess battle advanced, and new chess battle advanced, both spinoffs made by people sick of the developer

Ive started playing chess evolved because of you and I like (even with the bad decisions of the creator)

I'm assuming that move decay is the developer's way of limiting the viability of stall-out set-ups, i.e. a set-up comprised of mostly pieces which do nothing but make it impossible for your opponent to enter your position.

...move decay is the thing that makes stall setups viable, lol (like otherwise the game would take hundreds of turns and theoretically not end. it doesn't make them any less viable)

​@@godlyvex5543 Makes sense, discussing a competitor of a game on that games' own forums will absolutely detonate a certain orifice, cause a category D meltdown, and ultimately be the most unfun experience ever. So keeping info on a need-to-know basis is reasonable when the end goal is a fun game.

"Nuanced" is anytime a piece is instantly invalidated by another, which happens so frequently the community started saying "It got nuanced" to shit on the dev.

If 1 Ng5 Then 1 Rb8 2 Kc7 2 Rxg8 and if not then 1 Kc7 1 Qxe5 or just 1 Qe7 (numbering starts with black)

​@@nevorotem6819 looking at just the fork, Ng5 stops it icely was talking about queen forks, the follow up moves aren't the point of that segment of the video but if you want to include the entire position, it's better for black to block the skewer with a king move and white can take the knight, but then Rb8 first was better than forking

Morale is a great mechanic, for its purpose, which is to speed up the game.

lol I said morale decay was a symptom of failure and not necessarily the failure itself (it's also not very speedy to take 100 turns to end a repetition vs. classic chess)

@IcelyPuzzles That is very true, there are ways to boost morale in the game and outlast the opponent. I am guilty of using dryads to go 20+ over 100 in morale and repetition my way a win. I just know that the morale works when the game is hyper aggressive, drags out when used my way.

I used to play this game, and part of the discord. I would run an all armor army, with aquarius+ and a medusa and a ranger++. I left because everyone else was just better than me after not playing for a bit. Also p2w and the amount of bullcrap that i feel i'm expected to know for my elo (which was 3000) that got to me and i left. The dev of this game (if i can even call him one) is an actual joke tho ngl.

I like how upgrading can make pieces worse lol

I feel like adding the stuff about the owner being crypto addicted in videos that don't explain the currecy system, is going to make people think the game has crypto, which is a bit misleading. You should probably keep that to the first video, and the one where you're going to go over all the terrible stuff the developer does.
