Why are Knight, Bishop, and Rook so horribly balanced in this chess variant?
Chess Evolved Online, also known as Old Old Chess Battle Advanced, is a game created by a crypto-addicted Spaghetti Monster. In this episode, we will discuss the clown balancing of the pieces, as the set value for the pieces (0, 6, 10, 12, 21) is super far off from classic chess (1, 3, 3, 5, 9) - in classic chess the Knight is supposed to be equal to the Bishop, but for some reason in this variant the Bishop is costed much closer to the Rook.

EXTRA NOTES:
- Forgot to mention swappers can also fix Bishop's colorboundness. I kinda mention it, but it's not really that worth mentioning (colorboundness vs pawn chains is a FAR bigger deal in oldoldoldoldcba than oldoldcba)
- Rook used to have a really pathetic upgrade tier of ++ getting only 4 moves instead of those 4 teleports, and +++ having those 4 teleports. It was later changed for +2 getting range 3 diagonal and +3 getting range 5 diagonal, and then changed into the current swapfetish version.

Ive never played this variant of chess but the actual rating for knight and bishop vary throughout a normal chess game. They are approximated as equal but the bishop is stronger in most open positions and endgames and the knight is stronger in closed positions and the opening. Basically the knight starts at about 3.5 and becomes worth about 2.5 late game. Averaging 3. Bishops start a little below 3 and end around 4 or 4.5 depending on the methodology. Averaging about 3 or 3.5

That joke did fly right over my head (like the planes). But it also didn't age well (like the pilots). So it doesn't really stand the test of time (like the towers). I don't know whats worse.

Vert invested in this series. I have not played CEO but the game is quite similar to an idea I had years ago, so it's very interesting to see how it was done in reality.

I never use rook, Paladin and Chastity+ are good, but I normally use paladin, it's way easier to move, more defensive, and overall just better And where do I find the chess music also NO WAY THEY CALL THE CHASTITY-KING CORNER THAT

Hard countered by champions and pretty much useless in endgame, value falls off real hard. Also decent number of minions w/ 2+ range attacks
