I get why Jojo Siwa is having this moment. Alt aesthetic is an expression of not feeling like you belong, not knowing who you are at first, and feeling different from other people. When I was in school, I'm sure my classmates saw me pretty similarly. She's still expressing her childlike wonder, which is something that her branding has encouraged her to do. She really threw herself into something new, something she doesn't understand yet. She's in her rebellious phase, it's sad that she doesn't have a choice but to share her awkward phase where she's still unsure of herself, we all got to keep ours secret.

I’ll admit, I didn’t watch Dance Moms in its entirety, but from what I understand Abby Lee Miller in general I think just hated the young girls she worked with outside of a handful. Jojo's rebrand from child star to adult star should have been her changing her name to separate her child star self to her adult self. Jojo is her child nickname. Her real name is Joelle Joanie. Jojo Siwa is a name that is synonymous with her child star image. Leaving that name behind to leave that old brand behind would've been a good idea.

okay i’ve got a couple of comments- so i used to be a jojo siwa fan. and to be honest, this feels like the kind of thing that somebody who is surrounded by yes men would do. she grew up a star, and i doubt that jojo ever learned what was socially acceptable and what wasn’t, because she was never put into situations where she would learn that. if you went back in time and threw 14yo jojo siwa in a public highschool, i doubt she’d ever do something like this, because she’d be in an environment where she’d learn that something like this messy rebrand wouldn’t have a positive reaction, it wouldn’t have people take her seriously, wouldn’t make her appear to be more mature-it just does the opposite. she seems extremely desperate to make herself appear to be more grown up. she doesn’t want to be all rainbows and sparkles forever, but her team probably dragged it out as long as they could before she was able to do this rebrand, which might be a reason why people aren’t taking this seriously. she was the personification of pinkie pie well into her late teens and then all of a sudden became some edgy, gene simmons wannabe? basically, i think everyone can tell how forced this is. she’s admitted to doing this strictly to ‘turn heads’, and we can all tell that that statement is the truth. on top of that, she seems very full of herself, saying that she’s the first one in her generation to do something like this when she very clearly is NOT, comparing herself to Miley and Gaga, trying to say that people will see this as badass in like 10 years because “that’s what happened with Miley”, but jojo doesn’t understand that she will never be the person that she’s trying to pretend that she is. people wont see this as badass in a few years just because that happened with Miley and you think that you and Miley are similar-Miley did it because she wanted to, because she wanted her music to represent her as a person, and she didn’t want to be “stuck in a cage”, as others have said. and she certainly wasn’t boasting about herself, saying that everyone would love her in a couple of years like jojo is. Miley was authentic, and jojo is not. i wish that jojo could stop forcing all of this, and just do what she wants because she wants it, and not to turn heads, or be the best of the best. just do what’s good for herself and her own health. or even better, just do what will either benefit hers and others health, or something that won’t negatively affect it. she’s not being herself, she’s being the only person she knows how to be-the image of herself that’s been crafted by her team to make the most money.

I think that her being bullied and ostracised on Dance Moms as a child and that never really stopping once she left because she then started being bullied by the internet, sort of adds to her feeling like she has something to prove. I agree that she needs to start doing things for her and health.

She didn't steal the song, the rights were signed over to her, but the real issue is she claimed over and over that she wrote the song before it came out and now people discovered the original and they know she very much did not write or even help write the song. lol

She didn't really claim she wrote the song. I don't like Jojo but I also hate spreading misinformation. Its literally a rumour and people interpretting her sayings. Because she owns the song she basicly was "working with her own music". Look it up, you can't find anywhere that she's saying "I wrote the song karma". Also because she owns the song she can interpret it however she wants, and she's just projecting it with her experiences. Also don't doubt a secod she worked really hard on the song, since her vocal range literally can't reach the original. She literally can't sing it. She's singing off-key all the time.
