I think those people forget that some people like eating alone. Older people could be eating alone not because they’re family died or they don’t have anyone, but for the simple reason of not wanting to be around anyone

I’m not an old person but I really enjoy eating alone. I like just sitting there and listening to music by myself whenever I go somewhere, walking by myself and enjoying the nice weather, or sitting outside with my lunch and having a picnic with myself. Old people eating alone isn’t sad. They’re probably just enjoying the simple pleasure of spending time with yourself.
