Is it time to ‘uncancel’ Kevin Spacey? | Dan Abrams Live

We, the fans, should have a choice whether or not to watch any film starring Kevin Spacey, says WABC radio host Frank Morano. But author Liz Plank says the public has already said “no.” She cites a film released since Spacey’s sexual assault allegations came to light that did not do well. She tells “Dan Abrams Live” being rich and famous is not something one is entitled to - it has to be earned.

Why? He's proved his innocence over and over. Rapp even had to pay Kevin for bringing a false charge. Has Kevin been lily white in all his dealings? Acted inappropriately at a gathering, said a wrong thing to someone at a party or after a cocktail or two? Most probably...more likely definitely. Haven't we all done something stupid at one time or another? Perhaps flirted with someone who didn't reciprocate in kind? Especially when we were younger? I know I have. NOTHING Kevin has done has risen to criminality. Every accusation has proven untrue or unprovable. This man has had his life ruined just due to innuendo and rumor. I hope those in your life who you have wronged whether your fault or not, show just a wee bit more compassion.

Truth is this Kevin is or was sort of a monster He got a taste of what being famous offered him, an endless variety of young eager men to take advantage of and advance on. Were this men innocent? Not really. But Kevin clearly had it had little self control and knew his behavior was morally off but didn’t care. Is this criminal, prob not. Is he still a major creep for constantly grabbing young interns private parts and exposing his own often to them? It’s a sickness at the very least. Buyer beware. This is why Hollywood will never get better or music probably cause of this gatekeeper scenario some seem to be saying “it’s just the way it is” Bs, screw Kevin and those that support his behavior legal or not. He is and was a serious predator, even if only numerous sexual advances, he knew his position would allow him to carry on like that. And now he’s admitting it openly, but hoping that it was never technically illegal that everyone will be like “oh ok, he didn’t actually break the law” Dear God is that the threshold for society now? That we just skirt close to illegal activity but just far enough away?

Spacey is notorious, as all of us in the industry knew for years prior to his "cancellation". He's not getting another chance, no matter how many PR campaigns like this he pays for. His lack of convictions may spare him from jail, but it won't make anyone want to work with him given his longstanding reputation.

Feel so bad for Kevin. Did he act inappropriately at times (haven't we all at one time or another in our life), almost sure of it...but criminally? So hard to believe. One of the most incredible actors of our time, had his career ruined over rumour, inuendo or unproven allegations. As also a gay man, I feel for his struggles on when to come out and totally understand why he didn't. It was his secret to tell, nobody else's. Every time I see Anthony Rapp now on screen I want to vomit. He was a no name actor before all this came out with a few bit roles and perhaps a few performances on Broadway. He sabotaged another's career to elevate his own...period. Absolutely no respect for the man. I truly hope one day Kevin makes it back to a great career one day. Hey if Johnny Depp survived Amber Heard after having his career tank from her ludicrous allegations...then there's hope for Kevin. actors were always known as weirdos and deviants, going back to Shapespeare, the Middle Ages, the Ancient Greeks, etc. The new purity tests are too much. I just want to see them act, I don't really care about who they are privately. The whole point of acting is to become someone else... when we watch a performance, we do not judge the actor as a person because they are literally playing a character.

Netflix should sell the Gore Vidal movie Spacey did if they don’t feel it’s worth it for themselves. It’s wrong for these corporations to just sit on completed projects if they don’t know if they will fail or not. Disney sold Sound Of Freedom, which was originally made by 20th Century Studios when it was still part of Fox, to a Christian film studio and it ended up being a sleeper box office hit for it.

Let's be honest, Spacey was never really cancelled. Even the dramatic coverage of a "fallen star" not working on films since 2017 is not entirely true. He even worked in a Hollywood film although an indie one. I think we are dealing with the man - an Oscar winner - smeared like other Oscar winners like Dustin Hoffman or Morgan Freeman, who until recently dealt with his "PR crises" far worse than the aforementioned other two and many others in Hollywood. No interviews for years, no explanations outside the courtrooms, almost no denials until now, cringe-worthy criptic Christmas Frank videos... I think, we may finally have an explanation for all that. It seems Spacey deals with serious depression and anxiety problems. Maybe part of the deal with MRC and ongoing insurance case was that he is to undergo a treatment after medical examinations to be fit for a potential jury trial... Anyway, he seems to be feeling much better, but is he able for a big prestigious demanding Hollywood role? From a medical point of view? Nobody knows, I guess.
