Im irish and supported the Soviet Union. Soviet Union was the only country to recognize us during the war. That being said, what russia is doing to ukraine is disgusting and ukraine deserves help!

I am watching from San Diego, CA, I am amazed that you guys are not wearing hats when it looks so cold outside! I would love to visit Lviv, what a beautiful city!

After the war is over, you will be complaining about too many tourists 😉 we all want to visit your beautiful country. Lviv will be our first destination. Can‘t wait to see it! Slava Ukraini!!!!

And developers. Obviously that's part of what the "war" is about. Tribal competition over who gets to control and develop the real-estate and then heat all the wooden McSlave box-houses they'll build.. They will ruin Lviv's ecology just like they did in Colorado.

@peterberg4457... Lviv is not a Ukrainian city. This city was built by Poles. Its beauty and monuments that adorn the city were created by Poles. It is sad that Ukrainians boast about other people's achievements and culture. You should know that although Lviv was founded by Prince Galician, naming the city after his son Lev, the city belonged to Poland from 1346 until the attack of Germany and the USSR on Poland in 1939. The shape and architecture of the city is the work of Poles, not Ukrainians.

I’m in San Diego California. Every time you’ve shown Lviv, it makes me want to see it all the more. I can’t wait to see it in person.

Great video guys. Having travelled extensively in central Europe I would have to say for cafe culture , culinary options & even bars Lviv is the number one city of Central Europe. I have seen that you have many talented artists. At around 10:00... Oh dear, you are really making it sound like indulging in a citybreak to Lviv would be a virtuous thing... Exactly what I want to hear! You have no idea how many times, especially during the pandemic, I have dreamed about all the restaurants in Lviv I want to visit again... And of course cafés - there's probably no city that takes coffee more seriously. As a teenager in the 80ies I visited Vienna, and was very very disappointed by the cafés. Only when I came to Lviv (first time in 06 or 07) did I finally experience the kind of café-culture I had read about in old books about Vienna or Prague. Pilgrimages to Svit Kavy and Veronika are mandatory for any tourist in Lviv!

We are in America. This video makes us want to come visit. Would Ukranians want American tourists to come visit Lviv and Drohobych for a few days as tourists, or would that be rude and insensitive? We want to support those who work in tourist industry and spend dollars buying local crafts. Should people come in April 2023?

I've met no one who thinks people doing tourism even in these times is insensitive. It is the other way around - people see it as a good sign that the world isn't getting tired of us. We are always glad to welcome new friends :)

Pausing at 3:54: NO! Lviv does not look similar to ANY city in Europe. Lviv has parts, buildings, even streets, that might look similar, but no other city has the totality, the wholeness of Lviv. (Lublin's old city might be a tiny bit similar, but Lublin doesn't have the liveliness of the oldest part of the city, it is far smaller, and Lublin doesn't have the 19th-20th century town surrounding it...) Haven't visited since before the pandemic. I miss Lviv so much!

Lviv, is the city of my earliest traceable ancestor from the 16th century. I love the cobblestoned streets, are they all old and original, or are most of them relatively new? I'm considering coming to live in Lviv for six months in the summer.

I think this is hard to answer, because what do you mean by "new"? Lviv was never (heavily) bombed during the wars of the 20th century, so you don't have the situation that you have in many German or Polish towns. So in that sense it is old and original. But, just as visitor between ~07 and 19 I can tell you that the quality of streets in Lviv has really improved just in that time. Even as recently as 07 (ish) there were many more potholes, the stones were much more uneven etc. To the degree that the scared tourist might even be afraid to drive some places fairly central... (this was of course partly due to all the road works going on.) Cobblestoned streets do require some upkeep :-). Not least because the cars of today are much heavier than anything 2-4 hundred years ago.

Thank you both for the fantastic tour of Old Town L'viv. It has been five years since I was there and I will never forget what a wonderful and magical city it is. I walked all of the streets many times and enjoyed everything I saw there. I love Ukraine and the Ukrainian people. I especially love the beautiful women like Marta who manage to smile and think positively all the time. I know things are very difficult now and hope the war is over soon. There is no doubt in my mind that Ukraine will when this war, recover all of your territory, and put a stop to Putin's tyranny forever. Best wishes to both of you and Slava Ukraini. What a lovely couple! Well, i will definitely visit Ukraine soon. To be honest resistance of Ukraine and Ukrainians in general impressed me a lot. You've been exploited by Russia and Oligarchs since 1993 (apparently Janukowicz [im sorry, i have no idea how to write his name properly in English/Ukrainian/Russian, so ill just stick to Polish] was stealing over 5% of total Ukrainian GDP each year!) but you didnt lose faith in better future. Now youre fighting for freedom again (which is also part of DNA of Polish people)... All the best from Wrocław, Poland.

@@lymphocytetueur8189 I came back last week, all is safe. All is open, there is no more powersuplly in the street. There is a couvre-feu around 11pm. (I feel more safe in Lviv than France)
