@@MBballer2 Technically it would actually increase your credit score to finance as long as you make the payments...That said I'll only ever pay cash for cars because it's a better value to buy an upscale model depreciated which the bank will be less likely to finance.

jake lami generally true, but a lot to be said for a longer term loan. The recent quarantines and business shutdowns will have economic reverberations for a very long time. The dollar’s purchase power will necessarily decline. In other words, the dollar has more power now then it will in 48, 60, or 72 months from now.

@rockhopper01 With the low interest rates the the Fed is giving the banks as a measure to help mitigate this financing could actually be more viable now than ever. That is assuming you can qualify at a decent lender. (Not a loan shark) That’s because cheap money tends to cause inflation which means the principal of the loan will be worth less in the future than it is today while the car itself depreciates separately from the value of the dollar. That’s not to say the car will go up in value but it may be cheaper to pay in weaker “tomorrow dollars” than the comparatively stronger “today dollars” The paradox is that lenders are less certain about how to adjust right now and tend to be tightening up in the mean time as a precautionary measure.

I went looking for a V6 Challenger and drove a 10 red, RT home. Now have 159,000 miles on it! No beefy look! It's old school looking. The 10 has reverse light is between taillight just like the 70 Challenger. 2010 was a great year

I think a V6 challenger is worth it. It all depends what you want. They have a very peppy V6

I have to get you credit. It seems your videos dont get a huge amount of views considering the number of subscribers you have. However you really are passionate about your channel and trying to make it work because you definitely are constantly making and posting videos day and night and I know it's a lot of work yet you dont seem to get discouraged and keep the content coming. So I applaud you for your efforts and hope big things come to you. My channel is super small but hopefully in time it will grow but if not then so be it since it's not a source of income for me by no means.....Good Luck in the future

James, what you just said it pretty much true about what I'm trying todo with my KZread channel. Its the only source of income my family has at the moment so I'm trying to push out as many videos as possible while hoping a few of them will get some hits. Its kind of like fishing I guess, but if your not working with the right bait and the pond your fishing does not have enough fish your going to go hungry. This is one Big Ass Pond I'm fishing in, but getting the right cars on film is a bit difficult in my City. I'm not really sure what todo to make this successful, but I'm trying to not give up. The only problem at the moment is we're running out of cash flow and the Wife is starting to look at me like I'm crazy. She has always been super awesome about supporting my dream of being a KZreadr, but the last few months have been really hard and we've lost everything over the past 18 months and I mean everything. Just today we had to sell some of the kids toys just to get some food. No joke I'm for real. I really don't want to go back to be a Car Salesman, but if the views don't start rising soon this dream is coming to a end and its back to the drawing table.

However the needs of your family have to come first even if it means doing something you dont like such as going back to a salesman. I'm an owner operator truck driver and things are just as tough out here on the road. Depends on what you want the car for? I love Classic Fords but my Daily driver is a 2016 Challenger sxt plus. The 6 cylinder is fine for my needs. I drive my kid to school and back in it basically. When I want a real sounding V8 I drive my 66 Tbird with it's 390 😁. The Challenger is a very smooth riding car and looks awesome. Drive whatever makes you happy.

I'm a huge v8 fan myself but drive a titanium 2009 Dodge Challenger SE completely bone stock with 138k miles (brought it with 120k miles). I brought my Challenger last year for $9,500 and I'm also the 4th owner of the car. The reasons why I brought a v6 over the v8 was mainly for insurance. I am a college student working part time as a restaurant waiter so I had a very tight budget. I only drive the car from home to school to work and back. The last place I want my Challenger to be at, is at a drag strip racing against Shelbys, Hellcats, ZL1s, etc., I'm very happy with my car. It's comfortable, big and it grabs attention from everyone around.

@Sidney Celeste smart decision, nothing wrong with sxt and second car v8 cool...i like your thinking process on this. I plan on that myself i could of got a V8 but at the time wasnt good for me just to show off but be struggling to pay hefty gas pricing and insurance i ended up getting a sxt plus package with similar option of a r/t. its base HP was at 305 and did some modification so im probably at 330 in HP now.

Depends on your budget really... If you are younger and want a less expensive but still nice car sure get the V6 if you got more money then a R/T will deliver plenty of fun but at a more costly price...

I owned a 2010 base it was about 23000 new. My 201 I traded in on was about 31000 but that was the sxt plus with 100th anniversary package. My new 2020 challenger AWD was about 32000 with blacktop option and tech and cold air group. so not bad

I just got a great deal on a leftover 2019 Challenger SXT V6. Was 31K and I got it brand new for 21K. With the 8 speed transmission instead of the 5 speed in your older model, and 305 HP, it goes great!! Very happy with it!

I recently paid about the same for a 2018 black/black sxt plus with 30,000. Happy with it the way it is but slowly starting to add performance mods. Not trying to make it into a race car, just enjoy making it slightly faster and more fun to drive

I think this is nice looking muscle car and thanks to Dodge come up with the new generation car covered up with old classic style body.

I have one modified with true dual exhaust with Flowmasters , lowered, a cold air induction system, a 93 octane tune, so 300 hp and 275 foot pounds of torque. In 2024 it has 94,000 miles and the only problems I had was a bad door lock actuator and a battery. It has been a great car.

The challenger is the best looking out of the 3. The mustang was always ugly to me and the Chevy went backwards in design.

I was sitting in the barbershop when I caught a quick glimpse of the first Mustang in town, summer of '63 I think. I loved Mustangs from that minute on. I was a fan of them thru the '73 models and Cougars too, which were really Mustangs with different outside sheet metal and styling. All those cars were attractive and popular, but rode like skateboards. There were 6 cyl and small V8 models and along the way some very stout engines joined the lineup. The Mustang ignited the pony car era and AMC, Chevy, Pontiac and Mopar joined in. The pony car was capable of strong legal speed endurance and faster sprints of short endurance. They were not built to feel comfortable falling in behind 500 ci Cadillacs and cruising 90 mph for hours on end. Back in that era, the term "muscle car" had a time honored definition of any car that had at least 1 hp per 13# of body weight, thus some of the pony cars were also muscle cars. So were larger, heavier cars if their engines met that standard. In this era, I think the definition of muscle cars has been forgotten. Seems like it's modern use is to identify any American retro car that's used to show off. I remained a fan into the mid '90's before I gave it up. Then the retro looking Mustangs appeared until everyone had one and they were a dime a dozen. Our world was filthy littered with them. The retro Camero appeared. Then the Challenger appeared and it was immediately declared as the most faithful to its original look. I saw it and it made my ❤️ beat fast. It was absolutely beautiful. Finally in late '12 just 2 months from retirement, I gave myself a retirement present, a new 2013 R/T 6 speed, 3.73 limited slip, base model. It's my toy and does no duty except to drive it for fun occasionally. Didn't need options and made it out the door for $28,500. I love my R/T and it's plenty fast enough without thrashing or abusing it, costs me $65 mo for full coverage, including liability on my '03 Trailblazer that does the mundane chores. What"s not to like?

My V6 challenger is very dependable. Only maintenance has been done, timing belt, plugs, oil, trans service, rear diff service and that’s it. Still running strong with OVER 200,000 miles. Also, IRIDIUM SPARK PLUGS make a huge difference in economy and power.

Yesh but those are nice gears for the highway? I have a ‘14 SXT Plus with the option gears and it tachs pretty high at 80mph highway speeds.

Got mine at 90,000 miles, costed me 10,700. Previous owner definitely used it. I lined the trunk with bed liner (tons of mud in it) ,put my old ken speaker in it, added led tails and smoked sides and she’s still goin after being over 125,00 miles on it. Done numerous burn outs on it, bout to put a lift and get it off roading mad max style. Love it

I lucked up and got a 2011 with 65 k miles on it. I love it and it has a sunroof which was a cool surprise. I plan on adding to it.

I just bought a 2010 challenger SE with the racing strip down the middle it only has 115K miles leather seats beautiful car. Everything out the door with pricing tax license registration it was $11, 300 out the door. Ive always loved the challengers. I also own a 2013 Chevy camaro RS with only 26K miles. I got that almost brand new in 2015 from a Chevy dealer that one I paid 27,5000 bucks I rarely drive, but I love both cars so much. I always loved the camaros too. That has a v6 3.9 liter that car moves lol

Recently bought a base 09 challenger with 90k miles for about 10k. Love it to death, even though it isn't much but boy my challenger fever is through the roof and want to upgrade a trim level or 2 still lol

We, I mean my girl & me drove a that car in 2015 from Albuquerque to Chicago and further to Lansing Mi. and used 450 $ in gas cost for the half way 3000 miles (my guess) of Route 66 , that means a lot of detours and sightseeing.!! Once I count the average gas mileage and I got 24,424 MpG. Can that be correct? Surprsing low for us !! You know , 3 weeks driving !!!

I was looking at a 2013 charger RT and a 2018 charger gt plus V6 chose the V6 the insurance cost was the same between the two where I'm at chose it for Awd and gas mileage she's my daily driver 👊

I am a old geezer with a 2009 Challenger V6. Bought in 2015, to me has more pep than the 73 Baracuda I had.

For the v6 go for the Different Trends 49265 mufflers and HR lowering springs. Beautiful sound and ride.

Nothing bad about getting a v6 but just save up for that hemi, you will regret getting the v6 later on. I got a 14 hemi and you can’t go wrong. Threw in a lowering springs, 20 in wheels, straight pipe, cold air intake & a tune. Fucking love it. Great video btw!

looking at buying a 2009 or a 2011 challenger, I'm probably going with the v6 but's looking like $12-14k so it's quite the bit of saving up for a 16yr old.

Dopboyfreshh I live in the north east and own a 6 cylinder GT AWD for the past 2 years. It runs great in the snow and the looks I get driving through it cracks me up. Hope you get one or have gotten one

I had a 2007 Mini Cooper S (Worst car ever btw...so many reliability issues). Welp... engine decided to throw some issues AGAIN so was in a bit of a rush to offload it to at least get something for it. Took a trip to Carmax and ran into a 2018 Challenger SXT. Test drove it and loved it. The only thing that's weird is missing the clutch pedal but that is about it so far for me. Personally I would get the 2015+ models for the updated interior. Insurance isn't too bad. All of my cars I always paid in full except for this so I expected insurance to be higher. $205 vs $75 and the payments aren't bad either.

The 2011 and newer models have the corporate 3.6L Pentastar VVT V6, which has plenty of power vs. the old 3.5L V6 in the 2009 and 2010 models... it blends the best of fuel economy and decent power, and is much better on gas and much more practical if you drive one every day. :)

@@cuzz63 yeah the 3.9 truck engine. BTW none of those engines were made by Dodge. They were made by Chrysler Corporation. The only V6s in the Challenger were the 3.5 and now the 3.6 Pentastar.

I mean the v6 has like what 305hp now..that ain't bad..plus if you wanna save money and have power you can always get a 6.1 srt8 with 425hp.they still move and their cheaper then a new v6

I want the 6 Bc I only want the reliability and jus overall better for daily driving

I bought a 2007 Chrysler 300 touring back in 09 and a few months later I text drove a 300c with the hemi...from then on I regretted not getting the v8...just bought a 17 challenger rt ...no way I could go back to a v6...

Depends what state you live in. If I wanted to step up to to a v8 in Massachusetts, my insurance would go up significantly

I have an SXT with a sunroof. Its quiet for now, a Borla cat back exhaust is going on it in the spring

Interior in 1st generation Challengers looks like in my grandma's car.

The V6 SE in 2010 only had 250 HP

I have a hemi orange rt. 5.7 l. I'd have no issues. Driving. A 6 cylinder. Challenger.

It has that big beefy muscle car look... maybe because it’s a muscle car?! Just maybe?!

It doesn't make that much sense unless you can't afford the v8 at that moment because insurance will still look at it as a muscle/sports car

It makes sense unless your a 20 year old that feels the need to race everything under the sun lol. I love classic Fords but I daily a 2016 Challenger sxt plus. The 6 cylinder is fine for my needs driving my kid to school. When I want a nice V8 sound I drive my 66 Tbird. That's just me though.

Oh yes it does. I was quoted $325/month for an r/t and $145/ month for sxt. Same company and coverage. Plus, you have worse mileage and have to use remium in the hemis. Do I want one....yes. but I just picked up my '19 SXT and it doesn't disappoint.

@@johnmatlock8588 You're on the right track and the V6 SXT is a perfectly good and affordable version that owes no apology to anyone. It just doesn't have enough "WoW factor" for the young immature guys. If you drive within reasonable limits, the V6 with it's 6 second 0-60 time is plenty quick. If you gotta drive it hard all the time, human nature wants more. I am probably a good bit older than you, so full coverage on my 2013 6 speed R/T and liability on my '03 Trailblazer are just $65 mo. The 5.7L engine doesn't require above 87 octane although some additional ponies do come alive if using 89 or 91/93 octane. I live in the country where most of my driving occurs, and since it's my "toy" and only driven for fun, my average mileage is 21-22. I've found these figures to be my cruising mileage: @55 - 33mpg, @65 - 28 mpg, @70 - 27 mpg. My R/T is the base model. I don"t race it, do donuts or burnouts, don't do banzai charges, don't thrash or abuse it, just enjoy it as a fun car. The Michelin 245 tires are quite adaquate and I'm very happy with the car. Wishing you full enjoyment of yours.

I prefer the V6 over the V8 because the V6 has better mileage and the V8 has strong speed, but you won’t even be able to use it without getting pulled over and getting a ticket, so to time the V6 still runs great, it has better mileage, insurance cost less and it still looks good, but i think getting the base model is pointless, spend a little more for the GT and skip the SXT, it’s just like $2000 more

Wish dodge would make the v6 a little more powerful for crying out loud the base v6 Camaro has 335 horses compared to the nimble 305 horses in the dodge plus the dodge is way heavier for the model that sells them the most and is what is really keeping them afloat they sure just leave it behind when it comes to the performance at least 335 horses with 300 torque think I might trade in my 2020 sxt for a 2020 camaro rs

It feels like a V6... Well... It should. But if comparing it to an 87 IrocZ, it should feel like a V8 with better suspension. If you are used to newer cars, the V6 may not impress. If your last new car was a 99 Lumina with 160HP V6 and your fondest memories are of a 1978 Chevy Corvette that you had after High School... This car with the V6 will blow your mind. The 2011 SXT with the 3.6L Pentastar performs better overall, but the 3.5L holds it's own. The people who say that cars that run a quarter mile in 12 seconds is slow may have never driven a car that will do one in under 16. Don't listen when people tell you the V6 Challenger is junk. It's a bit heavy, but it will put a smile on your face...

So far the only ppl whose telling me I should've bought the V8 don't own a challenger & secretly wants to drive mines..Haters

I live on a steep hill in a country with snow. The V6 is the only option If you want a AWD.. I had a BMW E30 before.. it really requires a lot of skill and luck to get up the hill with a RWD in the winter.

3.5 engines are pretty bulletproof

I just got one from the auction for 4500 it's a v6 but I'll take it for now it's better than driving a kia soul lol

I just think, we don’t really need a V8, for this car, is too much power for what?,is going to be just a daily drive, and a v6 go super fast, you don’t go to be all time over speed or drive at 120mph, don’t pay extra on gas and insurance guys and drive safe. That car look great just enjoy

Sure, I’d like the sound of the V8. But for everyday purposes I’d like the V6. I would just like to have it in a manual transmission! I have no clue why they don’t have it as a manual unless you move up to the V8. I wouldn’t want to spend the extra money on fuel and insurance.

*OH SHIT* handles was a staple saying by my aunt while riding in my uncle's 1975 Chrysler New Yorker. They are a staple in most of Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth vehicles through out history.

sasuke2483692 the company called “ripp” makes kits for the v6 but adding a supercharger will decrease the reliability in the long run. Plus it’ll be cheaper to buy an R/T if that’s fast enough for you.

Base model Challenger cost about $24,000

Trust me I see the difference from 2012 and up

Please dont call those 5-spoke wheels “5 star wheels”. You did it many times

V8 on insurance is going to be the car note . Believe that 5-6 hundred a month. I have 2018 v6 . Challenger $260 a month full coverage w/gap.

Update: Traded in my '14 Dodge Charger SE for a '19 392. Yes, I'm paying $123. I'm not going to lie that I miss getting over 500 miles on a full tank vs 350 miles.

quite frankly depends on you. I got the V6 for ofc finanical circumstances. with 305hp 268tq its sufficiant power for the average consumer (mopars are just heavy as hell but if it were 300-500lbs less it'd fly). Now if you are focused on the drag strip and are willing to pay the extra cost of insurance and gas then ofc V8 is adequant for you. I get 16.8mpg on my V6 and managed a 5.2 0-60 best with bolt on mods (5.4 0-60 posted on here). I could supercharge it and get 450whp and about 370tq but the reliability ofc will be compromised longterm. If I could I would get a 392 hemi but not willing to pay an extra 15k for it and cost of gas and insurance would increase my expense as well.

Would you mind sharing what mods you've done?

Dead giveaways for the differences between older 2008- ^ and newer 2015- ^ is that the older ones have the big bar brake light, and also have the full 4 lights in front as opposed to 2 solid lights and the 2 halo signals/intakes

seems fair a test drive and a check by a mechanic would be a wise choice..but you could get an aftermarket exhaust if you wanted ..not like this car is really worth preserving.. have fun with it!

This is the se, the lowest of the low end challenger. Most v6 challengers are the 305hp engine and have duel exhaust. Way sportier than the se.

You will always wish you paid a little more for the v8.... especially when one rumbles past you on the street

Not really, I have one and to be honest I'm happy with it and don't suffer from envy. I think they are all nice, will I get a v8 one day? Maybe...do I care that mines not? No.

@@husky3g shit a turbo challenger v6 I'm pretty sure youl deff be in srt territory deff way past RT at that point especially these new v6 pushing like 305 hp stock thel be making like 410hp but I'm sure are lighter then the srt

carlover 247 wouldn’t adding a turbo decrease the reliability of an engine? It would wear out parts quicker as well. I would rather spend a little bit more on a faster car that would have more reliability than a v6 with a turbo. An R/T is only a few thousand dollars more under 30k miles and it has a manual option plus you get the v8 sound for cheap. But all trims on the challenger is good so it doesn’t matter what you get.
