Great review, Dave. I was really curious about this unit considering I recently got the original Skytrak. I don't think I'd benefit from upgrading. While they introduce some club data, I can understand what the club has done when considering the ball data provided by the original unit. I can see why they call it a Skytrak+ rather than a Skytrak 2. The original unit has been seeing some updates as well and the team appears to be continuously working on improving it and supporting it too. Great video. Cheers :)

Thanks Greg! I agree it’s an upgrade but not as big as I would have hoped. I like their software but it’s the same for both units so I think the original ST is a better buy especially since you can get them cheap used.

I think an experienced golfer like you doesn’t benefit as much from the club face data as a beginner like me. It’s really helped me improve in the 6 weeks I’ve had the Skytrak+.

I use my Skytrak+ outdoors every day in a semi-open environment similar to a range. Lots of sunlight; no issue with shot misses.

Glad you don’t have any issues, that’s awesome! I tried it outdoors and experienced enough missed shots to not want to use it. It picked some up but not enough for me to be happy having spent $3k.

I've got the ST+ as well. I use it outside all the time on my patio. I played last night until 830 in low light. 1 miss read from my mat shifting a little. Otherwise its bang on every time. I've had mine for about a week or so at this point and hit probably 300 to 400 shots. I've had a handful of miss reads and I think its cuz my mat is squirrelly sometimes.

@@m.g.1089 - I hit ~120-140 shots/day, & I get maybe 1-2 misses because I shanked the ball. Had mine for ~6 weeks, now. Works very well, have retired the R10 to backup status.

Wish I could. Challenge is you can’t do simultaneous shots. The software is exactly the same, just club data added with plus. I am editing a video comparing club data to GC Quad that will come out soon.

Had old SkyTrak, switched to GC3 with club data, but sold - wasn’t using enough to justify cost and depreciation. Just bought ST+, practically 1/2 price of GC3 / BLP. Happy to leave the unit in situ so that wil increase my usage - just personal for me. In terms of club data, ST+ doesn’t measure AoA but it has club face angles, when GC3 doesn’t. The software is so much better on ST*, big improvement on delay, and you can eliminate non-reads by using the right ball - like TP5x pic. Question: did you ever do the comparison of club face angles against the GC Quad?

Ive had skytrak plus for 5 weeks. Unit has been back to the manufacturer for 3 weeks then replaced with a new unit. My problem is the face path and spin is all over the place. Shot to shot they vary so much. Also been having some crazy high path and face numbers. Up to now skytrak have no fix for it. I wanted it to use as a practice tool but it gives me no confidence in the numbers .

Has anyone experienced their skytrak reading 1 out of 10 shots since the new update on july 21st??

does it work with a golf net/mat in the garage? My garage has flourescent bulb lights, will the FL lights cause interference for the ST+? Also does it show where the ball strikes on the club face like toe/heel shots?

Yes it’ll work with a net/mat but make sure your mat is secure and doesn’t move. Little movements at or before impact can cause issues. The lights should be fine. No it doesn’t give strike location unfortunately.

@@DaveBezeaugolf Hey Dave thanks for the tips. Yes my mat tends to move on the concrete each time I swing. Any ideas on how to keep it from moving without drillimg holes in the concrete? I'm renting our house so I dont want to damage the garage floor or anything else for that matter. Thanks

​@@electricblue73 I struggled with this problem with my old mat. I ended up getting some foam tiles that gave some extra grip to cover my sim space. Eventually I upgraded to a fiberbuilt mat that has a very heavy base so now movement is not a problem. Hope this helps!

Interesting to see you pick 85 yards, as it’s not a distance that’s in your matrix 😅

ST+ does not miss that many shots maybe one every 100 shots. Tried inside and outside for 6 weeks no issues.

That’s been my experience as well

Shot score is a number based against your last 20 shots with that club and a predicted number on the heat map. Its not about what its thinks you would shoot.

Thanks for the review. Still produces noreads, huh? I had the old version, and since they have not fixed the noreads, I'll pass on this version.

Hopefully they are able to fix the issue with firmware updates. They do a lot of things well but no reads were still an issue in my testing.

I don't know what you are doing for setup but I get 1 in 100 or less miss hits

Just my 2 cents on outdoor use, I don’t have the ceiling height so I use the Skytrak+ outside in my driveway and hit into a net. It works great, I might get 1 or 2 missed shots out of 100.

It is a Upgrade from original Skytrak but not worth $1000 More. That is the issue..

This has to be the most biased review I have seen. He even admits that he is a Foresight rep. The skytrak plus has been proven to be pretty accurate in all other tests and it just does not miss hits like the old one.

A cut is not a 23 degree left path. This is a terrible reading
