I think every Chaves is a Grail.

If the world would end and i could only take 1 knife, i would be this one for sure.. And my respect for Reate is huge after buying this knife.

I agree. I'm waiting for my gravity knife. I pre-ordered it and it ships in July.

I just picked up an Ultramar Redencion Street. This is my first "nice" knife. It has lived up to the hype. I'm impressed.

T.A.K., Street Flipper, Redencion Street, and Redencion Kickstop (all titanium) in my casual Chaves collection. The Kickstop is an excellent big brother blade to the rest. Love it.

My Chaves knives are some of my favorite EDCs. I know the skull clip isn’t for everyone, but it is the Chaves trademark, people always say “gas station” look. Surprisingly anyone familiar with knives sees it and says “Chaves”. Not too many gas station knives in Ti and M390.

I have 8. I carry one every day. They’re heavy, somewhat expensive and kinda unwieldy. And, after carrying a knife every day for 30 years, I found my perfect EDC a few years back. Chaves rocks!

Thanks for the great video! Have you found that dirt and grime have affected the kick stop mechanism?

Great video. Just purchased a g10 version with a drop point and a full Ti with a tanto. Been carrying them everyday for a few weeks now. I wasn’t sure if it was going to be a great slicer and while it’s no Spydiechef it is still REALLY good and holds an edge well. I’ve been cutting boxes down after Christmas with the drop point one and cutting straws and tags off cloths for my son and there is no noticeable difference in the edges sharpness. For such a blocky knife it stays in your hand pretty well when slicing and it also passed the lock, “smack the spine” test. Basically I hold the knife blade up against a piece of wood then use a mallet to smack the spine a few times to see if the lock fails. 5 smacks later and the lock held just fine. Btw, I have ZT’s that fail the smack test with just a lite smack. What really appears to hold up well is the tip. The tip is very strong but looking at it from overhead the blade stays think almost to the tip so not really a surprise. After my messing around it shined up like new, no damage to the blade or tip. That’s the good. The bad is that both of mine absolutely have hot spots at the rear of the handle. If your hands wanders back there while opening or gripping you will feel the pointy edge of the angular handle. I understand it’s the design language and in all reality I’m fine with it but it’s definitely not an ergonomic masterpiece. Overall this knife is sick. I can deal with the hot spots but wanted to mention so that anyone looking at this for a working man’s knife will know that it will beat your hand up under hard use. It’s in my top 5 knives to be honest. And I recommend to anyone as a normal use edc but I don’t recommend for someone who uses their knives for work everyday like a carpenter or an outdoorsman as under hard use the handles will work your hands pretty well.

Just bought the eknives exclusive with the chisel grind and damasteel. Should be a fun knife.

My favorite thing about and reason I'd get the Kickstop version is it doesn't have a giant stupid choil cut out of the blade.

Got mine today and i do own a spyderco lw manix 2 , mad tanto and plenty more ans the redencion kickstop is my fav knife ive ever had , as someone who loves to customise them tho .. all i found is like 300$ scales 😂

I think now what i wonder is. How might this Chaves vs benchmade bailout might compare

How might this compare to the Cold Steel Recon 1? Is Chaves better?

Honestly since I haven't carried a recon 1 I couldn't say..I may need to change that though!

Dont know if i would agree with fidget factor, but no doubt its a grail. Love grail or garbage.

It's all personal preference, Reate is the oem and while pieces manufactured by them aren't ever cheaply priced the quality of their work is top notch and in most cases better than the majority of American production knives in that price range..in the end its either worth it to you or not, buy what you like🙌

Love the knife and I have the kickstop but the skull clip screws are garbage

I'd be in favor of chaves going back to the old style with the screws hidden underneath the scale instead of through the clip

It’s new, so it is exciting. In all honesty I have the previous version and I think it’s much better. It should’ve came with a thumb stud. They will probably add a thumb stud to it and sell it to the next idiot. i’m not impressed with the kick stop. it’s a gimmick.

Nice ish knife, absolutely ruined by that awful looking redesigned skill clip. Why!.......😢
