I've been working on a vise jaw design that can hold a workpiece of any shape. The jaws are designed to fit ontop of a KURT clone vise. These common, inexpensive machinist vises are clones of the popular D675 KURT milling vise.

😂 they sure are. My neighbor has a VEVOR roof rack, and the other day I saw a VEVOR drink mixer at the boba tea place. They don't even bother adding their logo to this vise or box. I was just looking for an inexpensive vise to use as an adjustable base for the adaptable shape vise jaws project.
I like my Kurt D40, DX4, D675, and DX6. The 4" cost more than the 6". I got the D675 used and cheap, I bought the others new. Yes, it is an expensive hobby... buy once, cry once.
£76 delivered in the UK at the moment. Subtract eBay fees, VAT, and delivery, and you're looking at half that amount. To me, that's a miracle, and there's no way the manufacturer can make more than a couple quid of profit on that. eBay/Paypal get about £15 for doing close to bugger-all and the government gets another £15 for doing absolutely bugger-all.

that is a $290 vise delivered. vs a DX6 kurt $1300 delivered.

Delivered where? Kurt DX6 is $650 + $45 delivery, but if you live on an island, the delivery cost may be more
