I put this on my Jeep JLU love it. Besides a great step, skid plate and recovery point it also serves as protection for those people who back into you in a parking lot as well!

Lol, it's great for your spare tire if you come off a rock ledge hard.

Great addition to any vehicle that has a receiver hitch. I've had mine for a little over two years and it is very useful on both my jl and jt.

I just got back from moab with no rear lift just 35 inch tires. Used this exact model and beat the crap out of it on hells revenge and 7 mile rim. Sounds terrible but works great!

Thank you for the instant feedback. This is the one thing I hate about our trucks. Wish Jeep would have scaled back the overhang just a bit more. But it is a truck first and Jeep second.

@@c130aviator yeah it is the sacrifice. I wanted a truck as my next vehicle but fell in love with jeeps over the past year so this way I got both! I'll take the sacrifice for now. Super cool truck and will do all of the moderate offroading I need for now. If i get into crazy offroading over the years definitely will need a jeep with no bed

Thanks been looking at this for my Gladiator. Does it rattle a lot when driving on rough roads or off-roading?

Yes it can but you can mitigate that with grip tape or hitch silencer products.i use rubber bands wrapped around the skid insert.

Be carful when using as a tow/recovery point! use a solid pin, the locking types are not strong enough no shear strength.✌
@c130aviator

I'm not sure I agree. The lock states it's rated for type 4 receiver hitches. Rated for at least 10k lbs of towing. The shear strength is 50k psi for stainless. I don't see exceeding that in any recovery situation.
@c130aviator

Sorry kept digging. Found that the shear strength is in the 30k lb range but a hitch is double shear so 60k lbs of pull force.
