I wonder if thrawn will bring them into canon and under his command...

I could definitely see Seperatist droids being adapted into a Skynet-style military. It was enormously dumb for the entire Separatist military to have a single shut down signal render it completely useless. Realistically, they should have won the war early on. Clones still need time to mature, whereas droids can be instantly mass produced. It was a wonder the Republic didn't use their own competing droid designs and just augment them with organic clone soldiers for specialised tasks requiring creativity.

Interesting, I love Zahn's Thrawn in the new novels. He's given so many layers and his motivations make him a lot more intricate and mysterious. I honestly think the idea of Katana fleet becoming canon is a bit far-fetched, though it would be really cool to see it in live-action. But I feel like the hyperspace ring is purely for the Chimera, seeing the damaged condition it is in. I think that Filoni will take a slightly different path yet similar to the one in Legends, where Thrawn's return causes a split in the New Republic itself. We already saw hints of many influential people supporting the Empire indirectly, and seeing as even Moff Gideon has moles within the New Republic, it's highly plausible that Thrawn's return galvanizes the Shadow Council and makes the New Republic split into two factions, one that supports Thrawn and another opposing him.

Who knows. Who pulled her into the world of worlds? Who knows Why did she have an arc about grieving clone troopers when she already had that in the early seasons of the clone wars? Who knows Nobody, not a single KZread channel can agree on what anakin was trying to teach.. live or die?? Well that’s pretty obvious but here’s one: some people saying ahsoka was afraid to turn out like anakin… who writes this??? She literally met luke before in the book of boba fett which takes place before this show..: the literal son of anakin and look how he turned out, and leia, and anakin did turn to the good side, so why on earth is ahsoka worried about that? Who knows. Why on earth didn’t they have an emotional impactful dialogue of her feeling some guilt of pain regarding anakin turning to the dark side and order 66? Nah, just ambiguous live or die. Was he a force ghost or what? Who knows. Does thrawn have an impact? No because the sequels are directly after this and the main antagonists of them don’t even care about thrawn, he has nothing to do with the first order, Rey, the resistance etc. What is heras arc in this? Who knows. This show creates more questions than it answers.

Those brand new Cruisers the Republic has introduced in the series - we saw a bunch of them being built in orbit over Corellia when Ahsoka and Hera were investigating Morgan's operation and found Imperial sympathizers there. What if Morgan's operation runs deeper than that than purloining hyperdrives from Dismantled Star Destroyers? What if she has/had people who had access to the new ships and could install some sort of hidden Trojan Horse programming that at the flick of a switch automatically revert those Ships to Imperial Control?

Slave-rigging a bunch of ships together is a great idea on paper, but has massive risk tied to it. Just the thought of that many ships connected together, adrift somewhere in unknown space just waiting to be claimed sends a shiver down my spine because of the sheer potential of it. Also, isn't Boba Fett's ship Slave 1 slave-rigged too? (No pun intended) I think I remember reading that somewhere because he has full control over its systems with a keypad on his bracer. Even for one ship, the layout of that level of control can be devastating in the wrong hands, and that's what makes the Katana Fleet so incredible.

Thrawn could be the big threat to the New Republic post-RoTJ, but Disney won't let it happen with the sequel trilogy being a thing. It just wouldn't make sense for the New Republic to demilitarize and blow off the idea of a rising power to challenge it if they fought a huge war against Thrawn. I hope Ahsoka is setting up for Mando S4 which will wrap up with the movie, but Disney can't fathom a better storyline than the one they gave us in the sequels overriding the canon they've already set in place.

I think there will be a reference to it as Zahn did help write for ahsoka... but on the other hand the fact his ship is in the condition it is in leads me to think he hasnt found it... or maybe he does know its location and is waiting for elsbeth to show up with the ring and they will jump there...but as you said maybe they are waiting in the system that peredia is... or side thought...maybe the reason why he star destroyer is the likely last of the 7th fleet is because he came in contact with the katana fleet and it decimated them

I think the hyperspace ring already served its purpose which was to transport Morgan to Thrawn on the other Galaxy. Although in the book Outbound flight there is a similar ring that all the ships dock to to jump over to the next Galaxy. However before they make it they are attacked by Thrawn

The sequel trilogy established that a defeated Empire has/had enough resources to make Star Destroyers much larger than Vader’s, as well as a “Death Star” that was actually planet sized. What’s my point? Zahn’s books were written assuming that resources were limited. “Free ships” (and clones as prequels didn’t exist and we didn’t know clone history) were enough to tilt the balance (if your leader was a military genius). Disney-cannon doesn’t have (enough of this) scarcity. Empire still flush. First/Final order able to built whatever. This idea doesn’t fit into the current cannon in other words.

They do have scarcity, otherwise Mon Mothma would have responded to the attack of Morgan. The fact that villains have unlimited weapons from their ass is just the problem of the sequels, not the whole canon.

Theoretically, they could do other things with how the fleet is found...I wouldn't be surprised if the Chiss knew of the ships and where they were but due to the virus (or something similar) at the time, they just left them where they lay...Thrawn deciding to use it since the virus might have run its course and burned out

I think Grand Admiral Thrawn will do both. He is bringing his fleet and his hoopty ship, but he has been building an army the whole entire time with him all of his gang of darkness from the last season of the Mandalorian. Whatever happened to him on Peridia took out a lot of his troops. So, he's going to need some time, but not very much for an attack. I think that if Moff Gideon is still alive, he is going to be a dead man for doing experiments behind everyone's backs and his disrespect for Thrawn.

Well, we know from Bad Batch, Rebels and Mando the Empire and specifically Palpatine was interested in the cloning, ofc for himself to secure his life. So him having activity on Exegol long before his sudden death. Palpatine was always ahead and planing dark things, even using magic. So it is likley, he always had plans for the Sith Eternal - maybe within time we learn that secret remnants of the empire headed to Exegol to build the structure of the final order

I doubt. The only thing familiar from Legends are the slave rig system, the linker of Palpatine's Star Destroyers. The katana fleet itself isn't present. It's logical from Palpatine to reuse the slave rig system, the only thing left after its original katana fleet got lost.

I really love the old Thrawn trilogy. Especialy that Thrawn respects his Co-Workers. At one point in the books, one of his captains has an idea that Thrawn didn't think of and he promotes him unlike Vader who would've killed everyone daring to say something against his order. Trawn has honor and says that not everyone can think of all, not even himself. This trilogy and Darth Banes are my favourite stories in star wars

But hearing you explain it makes it sound eerily similar to the eternal fleet from SWTOR in terms of being controlled from a single vantage point controlled by what could be characterized as a “skeleton crew” as only 1 SCORPIO Droid was needed to control a single dreadnaught

Some issues I have with the theory: 1) If it was made after the war and lost after the war how would Thrawn have heard about it unless he stubled upon them while he was exploring his new galaxy 2) If he did find it and does get back to the prime universe with it how would any of the events of the sequel trilogy be possible without mentioning the new war the would take place without completely retconning the sequel and 3) If he had found the fleet why wouldn't he be on one of those ships and how did Morgan and all them miss the 200 ship armada once they got to the planet. I don't see how any of those questions could be answered.

I thought the whole point of Heir to the Empire was that Thrawn nearly took the New Republic with just a few ships and his brilliant strategic mind. Also they need to acknowledge how Thrawn's only true allegiance is the Chiss Ascendency, and how helping them would realistically be his only motivation for restoring the Empire.

I think we wont be seeing the Katana Fleet yet in this season but more like on the next. We need a new big space battle again in Star Wars. I've been very impressed with the Ship VFX in the show and I think its time to big with it. Give up a space Battle worthy of that of the Battle of Endor in ROTJ and Battle Over Coruscant in ROTS. I dont want it to be just ship spam that they did with Battle of Exegol. I want a really detailed tactical space battle where we see Thrawn take command and lay it on the New Republic.

Only problem with bringing back a fleet is that there is only one giant hyperspace ring. He is coming back with only the Eye carrying the Chimaera. An interesting thought though. If it was any other fandom, it wouldn't make sense, but the prequels demonstrated Imperial (and post-Imperial) weaponry doesnt' appear to have changed very much, meaning it probably wouldn't be considered as obsolete. 'Star Wars' technology is, honestly, very weird and inconsistent. up until 'Rebels', it wasn't even properly canonised that Imperial fighters had no shields - that was more an invention of the games. In the movies, TIE fighters and X-Wings blew up as easily as one another, meaning shields must have either been useless or Imperial weapons were far more powerful than rebel ones were.

Makes sense. The Zahn books had a LOT of great content in them, so in most cases I am always up for using that source material if it is legit to do so. Personally, I don't think we'll get it. I think Feloni is more pushing Thrawn towards mastering the fastest travel possible, not just to escape, but so he can , in the future, strike in any number of spread apart places and therefore defeat the New Republic through the speed and unpredictability of his offensives. Then again I also thought that Luke was going to be Grandmaster as a Gray Jedi by teaching the force with balance, and that sure didn't happen...

Star Wars loves to rhyme itself. To make the katana fleet feel the same yet different it would be great if Abeloth through reanimated Ventress would suddenly kill Thrawn and took over his katana fleet to hyperspace bombard various systems, like in The High Republic, and Luke Skywalker would have to stop her. It would feel like rhyme of Rise of Skywalker, rhyme of The High Republic as well as bringing back from Legends unexpectedly suddenly killed Thrawn by his powerful allay, and Abeloth and Luke Skywalker conflict.
