I started to question my sexuality when i was starting high school, like i felt a little crush on my 'Straight' Girl bestfriends and i was scared for admitting because growing up i believed that being a part of LGBTQ+ was a sin, So i forced myself to change which i did, i had a boyfriend and all but we broke up. Recently during quarantine i was talking to one of my closest girl besties and she admitted that she has a crush on me, Ive experience a lot of confession from straight guys but hearing it from a girl and surprisingly was also my bestfriend just hits different, I felt happy but the fear i felt when i started having a little crush on girls Strucked me again, I wanted to tell her 'I like you too' but i held my feelings because i was scared....Until now I'm still closeted and no plans on telling my parents because i came from a really religious family and i was terrified by just thinking that they might disown or won't accept me, I didn't want to be bisexual...I keep telling myself 'Gurl you straight' it hurts me denying who i truly am because I don't want to be hated...When i was really confused about my sexuality i cried i wanted to slap myself and snap out of it but never worked, I'm a Christian and i believe in God.

I remember when I told my siblings I was bi, they asked me What bisexual meant and they assumed I was a lesbian (I’m not). Told them the meaning of what bisexual meant and my brother, (who’s extremely homophobic) told me it was a sin and next thing you know in the evening, my behind got caught since I came out to some of my friends in February since I was questioning in December, but my mom and siblings were not very accepting. My mom told me the story of sodom and Gomorrah and told me being gay was a sin and that were Africans we don’t date women. I love both men and women equally and she even told me to change “sexual into men”. For 2 weeks, I was forced to read the Bible, so “God can forgive me for my sins” From the start, I always loved people for who they are, no matter what and I always saw this as wrong. My mom says that it’s an abomination to be gay, AND IT NOT! But I do not believe in ANY of that nonsense they say. I read the Bible and the Story of Sodom and Gomorrah, the story was about rape, not homosexuality to those who don’t know. Which actually relieved me and it changed me entirely, cause I was scared to actually learn about the story of sodom and Gomorrah cause the way my mom put it. They basically told me in the 7th grade (Going to 8th) that loving someone of the same sex or gender was a sin. But I didn’t listen! :) Im still bi The only thing it did to me for 2 weeks and went from 4 months was, me being scared or nervous when someone said the word Gay. What it did to me for two weeks was crying, no laughter or happiness in me at all and lastly, going into depression, and my mom telling me “That’s not who I am”. I couldn’t recover nor forgive my siblings for what they did, but things got a lil better afterwards. Im happy again and accepting myself as this almost 13 year old bisexual. I already told one of my irl friends back I was bi and he accepts me!! :D which made me more happy. ✨💖 To everyone out there who needs this, I Accept you, I love you, I appreciate you, God loves you, Jesus loves you, so does my friend. Being gay is NOT and I repeat NOT a sin. God loves you no matter what he wants me to let you know that he always loves you, and he’s going to accept you into his kingdom. Your not a disgrace to your family, nor me, or anybody else. Jesus died for all of us even you! The people who are homophobes ARE the ones going to hell, cause they call themselves Christians and their the ones damaging this earth, NOT GAY PEOPLE! The Bible should be used to tell love, truth, acceptance and power. Not to teach ignorance and hate. You all are god’s children in my eyes, he loves you, even if you are LGBTQIAP+ ! Your never too young to know your gender, sexuality, or identity! It can even happened when your 5 or 12 it, doesn’t matter! We love you just the way you are and nobody has the right to change you and the way you feel toward others. You have EVERY right to wear want you want, clothing has no gender. You have EVERY right to not tell others, until your ready, there’s always gonna be time. I love you are just the way you are and that’s a promise to all of y’all. :D ✨💖✨💖💖✨✨

I get so sad when I see Christians walling off lgbtq members... it's like they are choosing to ignore the foundational message of the faith: truly LOVE everyone! They sound disingenuous. I am so impressed to see how kind you all are in retaliation to that. Showing them understanding and respect back is how you prove your maturity. Don't return hate for hate! This is so much better to see than a group who hates Christians... Most of all guys, wanted to say: don't let other people determine your relationship with God. There is no one that has the right to keep you from Him, no matter who you are. He loves you just as much as any straight person, that's for sure.

The people who supposedly translated to the RSV version of the BOOK were supposedly well-seasoned scholars who had many decades of formal training, and not some 20-something seminary student. Absolutely the same story with me here. It's deeply painful to me how so many followers of a religion with central values of peace, love, acceptance and justice, have become followers of a true hate cult that only worships dogmas based on a distorted interpretation of some tiny parts of the scripture, ignoring the Spirit part of the faith, and the main messages conveyed.

It's extremely saddening for me as a catholic christian and trans woman not to be able to go to to the church and connect to the ecclesial community. I would be banned from the sacraments if I were to come out to anybody there at all, which is completely unfair and obviously demonic in the eyes of any christian - it's persecution based on what cannot be chosen or prayed away, that's how God made me after all. I would have to lie about my gender, wear dysphoria-inducing clothes and just feel pain, which is the last thing God would want. I hope from the depths of my heart that this will stop one day when Vatican steps in to make this dark practice of my church finally end. This unfortunately applies to all orthodox churches and many protestant and non-denominational communities as well, meaning it affects millions of people around the world

I started having trouble at studies, and I can’t get along with other boys, i prayed to god for my happiness so many times but things just kept getting worse. I started losing friends and getting depressed. Now I just think god hates me and I don’t belong anywhere. No one gives a damn about me. Also, Whenever I saw that message over and over again I become more and even more heartbroken and shed a few tears..until I remembered that this is how God created me and that I know he loves me for who I am and that message was a sign that made my heart grow and that other peoples religion don't define who I am. 💖💖💖💖💖💖😭🏳‍🌈

This used to make me question my beliefs entirely because I didn’t want to give up on some aspects of my belief . But this showed me that the original Bible was just swept under the rug. I'm Protestant, and I'm from an extremely conservative church (we use the KJV Bible, not the RSV), so pretty much everyone is massively homophobic or at least believes homosexuality is a sin. I used to be like that too, but then I went to college, watched actual LGBTQ people talk about their experiences, educated myself, and even met another bi girl at a church youth group (ironically). Now I know I'm bi, but I also know my family and church/community will never accept me, and I don't know what to do. Nobody will accept this information, even if it's completely true, because it doesn't come from one of our ministers. Also, if we have to follow the Bible to the letter, then it's a sin to be homophobic, sexist, racist, xenophobic, islamophobic, antisemitic, or anything that involves hating another person, based on the multitude of verses that command us to love our neighbors, love our brothers, etc.

Don't know if I will reconvert but it is my personal view that sin is what drives us apart, causes hate, confusion, ignorance etc. Love, real love, is the opposite of sin, because it brings us together and bridges gaps. But I know many attach 'that which offends God' to their definition of sin as well. Doesn't God need an ego to be offended? Very strange to me. And then I have to question, if this God doesn't share the same goal as me, which is to bring people together and increase the amount of good in the world through mutual aid and understanding, what DO they want? I think the Christians who worship this God who doesn't want gay people to be together or trans people to feel safe expressing themselves have a false image of God. And if God possessed the human ability to be offended, they probably would be offended by the idea that they were so delicate.

My mom is a Christian and she said that if I see any homosexuals' to keeps scrolling or don't even look because if I become gay I'm going to hell. I tried seeing if the bible said liking the same sex is a sin but cant find it. But what I do know is having a relationship with god and liking the same sex is not going to send you to hell. I'm not African but I have African family that said its not natural to be gay or have intercourse. They way the bible was shown to me did not make anything better with my relationship with god. It seemed like he didn't like his people if they were gay. I'm bi sexual but don't really feel attracted towards females anyway. But I have two years left and know everything is going to be better once I graduate.

I’m bi, I came out to my Christian friend as lesbian ( what I first thought I was ). She was fine with it, accepting. Then the day after she said she actually said she didn’t support it which hurt me a lot. It made me think like what did I do? Considering the fact we had a crush on each other in elementary, she said she used to be bi but likes men more so she said she is straight. I forgot about this for awhile. I recently started thinking on it like “maybe being gay is bad” and started searching up if it was wrong to see why my friend would t accept me. But I’ve decided to not worry about it as I cannot change who I truly am but have to embrace it.

I kinda don’t like religion. The amount of people who take the message wrongly is deplorable and I don’t think the actions it has done can just be forgiven. This is why I’m an atheist but I’m learning to be more tolerant of religious people so I don’t eventually spiral into justifying genocide against religious people and become the very thing I swore to destroy. I’m starting to be more tolerant but I still don’t really like religion and I think it’s holding humanity back from what it can really do. I’m not trying to convert people to atheism but I’m tolerating religious people more. If you want to believe in a holy sky man or men then go ahead but respect my ability to not believe in those things.

To the gay verses: those verses reference what god told Moses to say to the Israelites, not us today. “The Lord said to Moses, 2 “Say to the Israelites: ‘Any Israelite or any foreigner residing in Israel who sacrifices any of his children to Molek is to be put to death. The members of the community are to stone him.” As we go down in God’s list, we see the verses not being about homosexuality. This is the book of Leviticus by the way. Homosexuality wasn’t even in the bible until recent. Also it translated to “arsenokoitai” meaning boy lover/ m0lestor. but it was not translated to mean “homosexual” until 1946. “Boy molesters will not inherit the kingdom of God.” Is the actual translation.

Hey Is that what it meant? I was told In The New Testament, Paul uses two words in 1 Cor 6:9, “μαλακοὶ” (malakoi) and “ἀρσενοκοῖται” (arsenokoitai) The word malakoi literally means “soft.” & arsenokoitai is recognizable as a compound word which originated in the Septuagint (Greek) translation of Leviticus 20:13 which speaks of a man who lies with mankind as with womankind. In Leviticus, the compound word arsenokoitai word is presented as two separate words - arsenos meaning “man” and koiten meaning “lay.”

Okay so there are a few problems with this video imo. First of all, you didn't specifically address verses in the bible which seem to state that it is a sin, such as 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 and the infamous Leviticus 20:13 from the Old Law. Secondly, you failed to show us an analysis of the language used in the original text, and just left us to take your word for it that there was a miss-translation somewhere in the bible. I personally am not a christian nor am I straight, so naturally I see nothing wrong with homosexuality, but I have to call out a poor analysis when I see one.

They also watch christian videos and watched a few about lgbtq+, all saying it was wrong. I hate it so much having to pretend “oh, yeah that talk made me straight!” My friends and i are all lgbtq+ and we joke around and write on whiteboards about lgbtq+ being okay.
