    I min-raise pre sometimes to isolate IR. Last time I did, it was UG+1 with QQ to $50 trying to fold out small pairs and weak Aces behind to isolate UG who plays fairly loose pre.

    Yeah, you lose sometimes. But that is ABSOLUTELY 100,000% how you MAKE money. You can't let people see cards for free when they're willing to shovel money into the pot. But likewise, he definitely overplayed the aces. He's got the best pair possible, but it's still just a pair. You don't want to make bets that are only getting called by better, which he absolutely does

    AK is unquestionably where I have lost the most money. A lot of people will only want to get it in preflop with 10s or better or AK themselves. All of those pocket pairs have an advantage on AK (10s is even, rest win most of the time). Also end up valuing myself a ton bluff c-betting post flop like in your hand. AK is a great hand but I have been much more profitable with it being willing to let it go after the first C-bet and trying to NOT get it all in preflop except against maniacs.

    My experience with the min click is usually AA or JJ…the min click with AA to get more money in cause of being scared of people folding I’d they went to big. .. or JJ because the inexperienced don’t know how big to make it or don’t wanna make it big and face a huge 4 bet.

  • @jamespearson00

    The min click on your second AKo makes sense for a suited Ax, and Im betting it was A9dd. Thats my read withiut really being there. Thats a spot to trust your gut, but getting almost 4:1 was pretty good odds. Tough fold, but was probably the right move given it was an all in. Most decent players wont jam there, sometimes the great ones will.

    wolfgang im pretty confident u made a good laydown. the min click preflop in my experience is a hand like ace-jack or ace-queen. the player know that they are suppose to three bet there but do not want to get four bet most of the time. u r right a savvy pro may do that with aces or kings hoping for you to four bet especially if u r an aggressive player. i am pretty confident this guy had ace-queen of diamonds or the very rare ace-nine of diamonds. rare because its not a hand i would three bet pre in that spot. anyway, u saved money and made the right play i feel.

    "Min-click", or just minimum raise is what I do with AA, KK, or QQ. Makes the hand look weaker than it is, and if someone 3x raises that, then they can 5x raise if they have AA or KK, or staight up call with QQ and think they're going against AA, KK, or AK. It's a good little pre-flop trap.

    I noticed when you have the nuts, you bet aggressive. Try betting small. Most players will call, but some will raise, expecting you to have a semi-strong hand, but not the nuts. So they end up thinking they have the best hand with 2nd or 3rd best hands. Works quite often.

    No, AK is not overrated. People's expectations of AK are just too high. Statistically any unpaired hole cards have the same odds of flopping a pair, about 32% of the time. So AK doesn't hit any more often than any other hand. What makes AK powerful is that when you do flop a pair, it's always going to be top pair, top kicker. When you hit a straight (except A2345) it's going to be the nuts. A flush is always going to be the nuts or second nuts.

    I think your AK fold was a good one. I don't think he had AQ, because he would have bet the turn with 2 flush draws on the board, but I'd believe A9, and I'd also believe something like 78 of clubs, either of which I think are at least reasonably consistent with the min-raise pre-flop (not that I think that's a good play, but it's at least defensible) and the pot-size C-bet on the flop. Also it's hard to figure what he might have had that you could beat in a showdown -- any worse ace I think he just calls, and I agree that he doesn't have enough behind to effectively bluff.

  • @anthonyhu742

    @anthonyhu742

    10 ай бұрын

    A9 makes no sense on the river. So he improves to 2 pair and turns it into a bluff? He likely had A2 of clubs. The raise on the river is just a nutted hand kind of bet. $275 more into $100 is a crying call. Edit: Sry, i misread the last bet as 375 into 100.

  • @brendonw456

    @brendonw456

    @@anthonyhu742 No no and no. Ace anything on the board makes sense. He absolutely didn't make the flush, as the villain himself said his suited ace became a TWO PAIR. Not a flush. You don't need your hand to be nutted when your opponent has shown weakness on every street by check calling. Check call is standard for most one pair hands. This is also why so many bad players own themselves with one pair so often. They WAY overvalue top pair
