Is 1 Day Enough for us in BANGKOK? Reclining Buddha | Flower Market | Sampheng Market
We spent a whole day in Bangkok, coming from an 18-hour journey from Manchester, UK. This is what we did :)
Thailand Episode 1.
We arrived at approximately 8am in the morning, jetlagged, but got the buzz for the month-long adventure we had in front of us. From the Airport, you can get the trains to the city which is user-friendly. We got lost as you expected, getting off at the wrong stop, but we eventually got to the Hotel at about 10am. As you guessed, it wasn't time to check in but it was not a problem as we did not plan to stop for a long time.
We didn't waste time and got a tuk-tuk to the Reclining Buddha. Don't forget to haggle the price :) From where we were staying it was about 15-20 minutes away so the price wasn't that steep. As Tiegan mentioned, you need to be covered up in the Temple so REMEMBER to bring a scarf for your shoulders and wear long pants to cover your legs.
The Reclining Buddha was very fascinating, however, we felt a bit lost as we didn't opt for an audio or a walking tour which may shed more light on the meaning behind the Buddhas. Nevertheless, we were happy and privileged to have made it there!
Past the Reclining Buddha was the Flower Market, situated nicely 10 minutes away. This is a must if you love the smell of fresh flowers and are fascinated with the colours. We had a quick stop here as we hit the wall and eventually went back to the hotel for a 3-hour nap.
Lastly, we went to the Sampheng Market which was the highlight of Bangkok! The town was alive with funky food, acoustic music, colourful tuk-tuks and tourists from all over the world! This is a definite must if you want adventure, cultural experience and amazing food.
Please do not be shy to leave a comment if you have any questions. We will answer this for you as much as we can.
Don't forget to subscribe to follow the rest of our trip in Thailand.
Thank you for watching :)
