Iron Man Hulkbuster Cosplay Suit #9 | Mechanics & Motors | James Bruton

Part 9 of my giant Iron Man Hulkbuster suit, this time I'm attaching the hands to the forearms and looking at the motors. Most parts are 3D printed, Foam PVC, or Wood.
In this series, I build a complete Iron Man Hulkbuster cosplay with animatronics and mechatronics with a step-by-step guide to cover everything you’ll need to build your very own suit. From 3D printing the parts to installing the mechanics that make this whole suit wearable and actually able to walk around.

Also, I'm super excited to see how the pop-up weapon will look.

When you get the mechanics sorted out, you might want to consider shortening the wires that pull the ring and little fingers, so that the hand looks a little more natural when it's closed. I always look forward to your videos. Thanks for sharing.

Nice work, looking very nice indeed. The motors seemed to work really well, I actually thought the speed was neat, would give someone a jump opening up quickly and a weapon popping out. After all, when the bad guys come knocking you want your weapons out and ready dam quickly. :)

Don't know if you need and/or know this but I saw a way by which you could have a pivot for the had wrist that could be moved by a piston. This could be achieved by adding a pivot to the grey/silver piece, a pivot to the bar connecting to the repulser and a slot on the wood bar that the 3d printed red bar is connected to.

Music during the 3D printing reminds me of the music form the original Command & Conquer. Is that your own music? Also those ball bearings you used for the screwdriver mounts; Are those just bearings from a skateboard? It's looking really nice by the way, I can't wait to see what you'll have done next week!

This might have come up but I didn't find it. Are you planning on having the thumb and finger filaments come into a common block that is then attached to the motor? I was thinking this would make the pull on all of them inline with the fingers themselves so it would be smooth and uniform. You could place some small pulleys in the wrist area to redirect the filament for the thumb so it also pulls smoothly. (I should have said did you? Well, continue watching I suppose.)

wow the arm looks pretty big, cant wait till the rest of the arm is completed and connected to the suit. Also glad to see your poor lulzbot back in action, it was feeling lonely and left out thanks to its bigger brother. Does the vibration of the table from one printer effect the the quality of the other print?

Loving the suit so far, but I was wondering, why didn't u make the fingers of the Hulkbuster so that you could use your real fingers to move the corresponding finger of the suit? Also the music u added to the 3D-printing parts adds a nice touch to the videos, it makes the 3D-printing look more extreme than it is :D

Seeing as this is a custom design build would a new name make sense? Or something idk, I was just thinking about it and I thought it would be cool. Like it's still a hulkbuster, just not iron man's version. So maybe it's a Hulkbuster Custom XRo Class. Don't mind me I just let my imagination take hold sometimes. On another note, how would you make the "telescopic" weapon? Would it work kinda like the toy lightsabers? (Wowlongcommentsorry)
