Yes was absolutely awesome but at the same time if he could put a simple twist on a basic meal I think it would be better in my opinion, because that way it would actually be something that I could make at home and not have to add all these industrial ingredients that aren't readily available. A simple twist to turn a basic meal gourmet for the next one?

I’d hope someone who owns their own fancy restaurant and has been a tv chef knows how to cook.

I'm from Windsor. Went to YorkU. When I graduated, my parents got me dinner at your dad's Restaurant. Changed my life. Worthy of being a graduation gift. What an experience. love the channel.

i love to hear when he say "son", kind remember me of my father. he pass away in 2021 because of covid 19. miss u dad 🙏🙏🙏🙏

This guys energy makes me want to work in a kitchen again. You know when it's game time he doesn't f**k around but you know he's the type of chef to always take the time to explain something to you if you're willing to learn. I'm sure that kitchen environment is rock solid and turns out some absolutely amazing food.

I was thinking how i never wanted to work in a kitchen , but if i ever were to, it would be under him. Cake decorating is the closest thing i've done.

I think there's so much to learn from the movement of a great chef. He's so efficient and deliberate with his decisions to the point where it's almost unconscious. How he just has a feeling of when to start making the different parts so that they are done at the same time in the end... just incredible

It's like watching pure magic. Thank you for making these videos and please thank your father for being so generous with his time and creativity - He is genius.

So humble. Dude literally owns the joint and modestly asks, "Can you shove that in the oven for me?" I know they can't say no but this dude is a straight role model.

I logged into my Google account just so I could like and comment on this video. This might be the best cooking video I've ever seen on KZread. PLEASE do more cooking videos in Susur Lee's kitchen. It makes me so insanely happy to watch him think and craft. Bravo.The breaking down the macaroni and then steaming it was brilliant, alongside the Béchamel. Ahhhh! So amazing. I wish I could try it!!!

I love the at home challenges but seeing the way chef was performing in his professional kitchen was such a treat. One of my favorite videos you’ve ever made.

I found Surur's sons on KZread because of him, so I love these. What I really admire is his love for his sons. Susur could make a good paycheck for time he spends cooking with his sons, but you can tell he enjoys the camaraderie with his sons and isn't even thinking about the business aspect. I also know there is another side to all of this, which is that he may be trying to make up time from the past, while he grew the empire that they now benefit from. I have been through, and am going through, the same type of situation.

You & your dad need your own Netflix show doing exactly this!

UNREAL to watch Susur Lee cook soggy kraft noodles in his professional kitchen. I love his creative energy, THIS is how I aspire to cook at home.

Your dad always kills it, but there was a certain grace to this one. Easily top 3 for me so far. I look forward to these every time.

when he said "just drop the nuts right on top" i couldn't help but burst out laughing, most passionate likeable guy i've seen in a while on youtube, so authentic reminds me of my dad! thankyou for sharing your awesome father with us :)

Watching you interact with your father, witness him practice his life's mastery, and display your perspective of him through your editing; really makes me want to do something similar with my father. This should be a regular thing: son's witnessing, appreciating, and portraying their father's greatness

Really appreciate Chef Susur going out of his way to let us have a peak in his kitchen and taking the time to explain his cooking process even though it was the middle of him getting ready to open his restaurant. such a cool dad! for most people, including myself, won’t have that patience to go out of their way like this when busy and in the middle of work, especially someone at such a high caliber position, it is really touching to see him despite his busy schedule, making an effort to show where and how he works for his son. maybe some might say it’s not a big deal, but it’s just not the usual norm to let your close friends or family into your work life. it was calming to watch how relaxed Chef Susur was even in a professional setting with his son and the camera on him, opening for work and easily taking on a challenge, coming up with and making, not one, but two gourmet dishes. A level of expertise that is hard to reach in any profession.

This is one of my greatest pleasures on KZread. The relationship you and your father have is something so genuine and familial. I love it. My dad lives 1200 miles away, and we are close, so every time I watch y’all it reminds me of me and my dad. Not to mention the cooking is phenomenal!!

His cooking skills are impressive. But he just dissolved noodles and then refused to use the orange powder. This is like pretending he turned water into a cake just cause he used it as an ingredient. He basically just made a gourmet meal. Nothing to do with the mac and cheese

Must be going on 25 years ago I made box mac and cheese and green beans for a friend who said there was no way you cna make it gormet and I did it and plated it all pro style and the dood went on to be a chef. I know he already had the pashion but I selfishly like to think it;s because I showed him how wonderful even the simplest dishes can be when you put some love into it!
