And greetings from France, my younger days were also in Bangor and I have happy memories of my grandmother baking these breads on her griddle.

@@barry5356 Ulster is one of the four provinces of Ireland which includes 9 counties. Therefore very much an Irish fry 😊

Being from Belfast now living is the US I do miss a good ulster fry. My dad was a butcher we used to have an ulster fry at the weekends occasionally we would have a little baked beans also. It nice to be able to make the soda and potato but getting good bangers and black pudding here is very difficult. Thanks for posting the video.

Not sure if black pudding is the same as the blood sausage we eat in Argentinean bbq. I'm in the US as well and we buy blood sausage at Wild Fork. They have stores in different states.

You said add 1 teaspoon of baking powder but the tub you took it from says bicarbonate of soda? Baking powder and bicarbonate of soda are 2 different things surely?

You mentioned something about freezing the bread or the dough. How do you go about doing that? Do you take the potato/flour cakes before they're cooked and freeze that, or freeze the fried farls? I've always wanted to have these with a homemade breakfast, but doing this all in the morning in addition to the rest of a full Irish seems like a too big of a production to be feasible outside of a restaurant or b&b setting. I'd love to know how to make them in advance, so I can just throw some on a pan when I'm making the rest of my breakfast, though.

At 6:18 he says "I like to cook them off and then freeze them". I think that's your answer! 🙂

Sorry but you seem I nice guy but I'm heart sick with folk trying to make the Ulster fry some Avant Garde dish. It's an Ulster fry !! It's made by common people and ate commonly!!
