iRacing Guide MX-5 Rudskogen Motorsenter - Hot Lap + Setup -

Ойындар

Learn how to drive the Global Mazda MX-5 on Rudskogen Motorsenter in iRacing!
In the guide we will take a look at every turn, I will showcase important details, and in the end you will be ready to join the next session and attack your best times!
You can also practice with and race against my ghost, or compare your telemetry with mine. You can find all those additional files over in the database on the community discord!
SETUP: The setup I'm using is the standard baseline setup from iRacing - the setup which is on the car when you boot the sim for the first time. It's also the setup you have to use in the Rookie series, which means you already got it and there's no need to download anything.

Can you explaint why you dont use 100% brake pressure into the turns? It this a generel thing in Iracing to not use 100% brake pressure even if you have ABS in the car?

Balance iRacing simulates the whole suspension, and every time you hit the brakes with 100% pressure the whole load of the car shifts to the front and leads to understeer. That's why you pretty much only want to brake with 100% pressure at the beginning of straight and hard braking zones. Towards the end of it you want to decrease the pressure to shift the load away from the front and give yourself an easier time on the turn in. You're not gaining that much additional braking force beyond 85% pressure because as you say, the ABS kicks in anyway, and the disadvantage from the weight transfer almost always destroys the slight benefits you can generate in certain situations. That's why I'm barely, if ever, braking with full force.

Noob question, are you braking with your left foot? Or right foot braking and blipping the throttle with your heel?

You don't need the clutch in this car aside from helping to optimize standing starts, so I would imagine he is left foot braking.

I'm braking with my left foot 👍🏼 I was born with two left feet. If I'd try to blip with my heel I'd probably break my ankles 😅
