@@wahahah dude the front camera has no stabilization at all, we are talking about the rear camera and that one has EIS on Sony, it isn't "shaky" as iPhone's. Rear camera test at 2:10

They are the KING of sensor, but remember, what software you use for that sensor is another story. It's like I can teach you how to bake a cake, but I'm not going to give you secret recipe lol. :) Sony make the sensor so of course, they know how to utilize their their products to make the best of it. Just look at their Sony Alpha Camera line. They are #1. Canon and Nikon is now fighting so hard to get back their place where they were before.
Xperia killed it!! Hit like if youre an xperia fan :) :)
Watching this on my iPhone XS Max and I agree with most of the comments here, the XZ3 has the better camera. XZ3 has more natural output. Bravo Sony, they should rethink how they market their products. Here in Switzerland, Apple products have a big market share, like 60%.

Sony uses a customized sensor for their phones. They don't sell what they use until they developed a new one. In a sense, it's like their last gen sensor sold to the latest phones of competitors. Though they somehow get beaten in the software department at times since the camera division doesn't want to cooperate till the Xperia 1. We'll know how huge is the improvement then once they release it.

i am using xperia XZ2 compact which has the same sensor with XZ3. can say pictures and video quality have improved much after upgrading to Android 9 Pie. Looks like they did a good job on fixing their camera app)
Sony is always top notch in Camera, Display, sound means everything. they just need better marketing department
iPhone won on some points but the automode in low light and stabilization wrapped it up. XZ3 is better.

Unfortunately, Sony doesn't get their market in my country, Vietnam 🇻🇳. I changed from Iphone 7 plus to XZ2 ( same price with the 2nd products ) and feel like reborn. Why did I miss XZ2 long time like that? Sony makes their own fans be proud of.

The difference in stabilization is so drastic, the iPhone looks as if it went against the GoPro Hero 7. Anyway, I really love the natural look of the results on the Xperia.

listened to the audio very well and it looked like one of the mics in the xz3 was covered. The stereo recording sound was not balanced if you listen with an earphone

Make sure the setting for sony microphone is on high because it normally set to auto which will tune the audio a lot when hearing loud sound

Both have splendid cam! I'd say iPhone's front facing cam is better, while Sony did a better job for the rear. But all in all, both are great. Nothing could go wrong with both of these devices.

Fantastic Stabilisation on xz3
The iPhone still does great dynamic range and shoots with a flatter looking profile. Sony tends towards better colours. The bike test seems to upset a few phones. In reality, both of these are fine with hand held usage.

Cameras are terrible at it. Shoot a scene with a lot of contrast between light and shadow and you'll either lose all the detail of what's in the shadows, or you'll lose all the detail of what's brightly lit. That's the very definition of a low dynamic range - the inability to see from the darkest darks to the brightest brights, with clarity.Like our own visual system, the iPhone XS is combining its optics and its processing acumen to piece together images that can cover that dynamic range far better than any lens and sensor can. you press the shutter button, and between those images (all captured in a fraction of a second), it also shoots another set of images at a different exposure, so it can cover both bright and dark areas..they added dynamic range for videos too.. A12 processor analyzes each frame pair and intelligently combines them to expand the dynamic range of the video.. sony is developed only hardware , no software improvements..thats why apple,google pixel and some of other devices has better image qulity than sony..
