I purchased an Xperia 1 in purple just 2 weeks ago and it is absolutely mind blowing. To say, it is a stunning phone would be an understatement especially in purple color. It is not a phone when you hold it. It feels like a piece of art meticulously and carefully crafted and honed after continuously looking for perfection. The screen 4K OLED HDR is an amazingly sharp screen. Coming from an XZ premium, it is a HUGE step up. I have owned iPhones in the past and had Samsung phones, but Sony puts so much passion into what they build. This video also confirms I made the right choice. I love holding the phone so much that I cannot put a cover on it (my XZ premium was without a cover for 3 years and it looks brand new and now my wife's phone). Sad Sony does not sell more of these masterpiece as product loyalty and binding to everything Apple makes people blinded to the perfection that exists outside the Apple world.

Damn Sony is very competitive

Yes it's sad. I think it's the design. I was always a Sony fan, but when I saw all the othed brands coming out with infinity displays, and Sony keeps with their bulky design, that is a game changer. Plus the screen was never as bright, they must also use amoled

On the speaker test Sony's speakers had more details. Also it's not the RAM that is lacking, the resets from Sony is actually to save battery. If you want to stop the resets go to developer mode and you can choose how many apps you want it to keep.

Where is better base on the iPhone because at my end when i watched it sony sound 10times better than the iPhone..

My XZ premium was 4K HDR as well, but it was LCD. It was the successor to your Z5. My Xperia 1 now has 4K HDR OLED screen. Even with full 4K HDR native mode switched on in my XZ premium, the Xperia 1 blows my XZ premium out of the water.

For video audio shooting quality Sony always is the best...

I have been using Sony mobile phones for the past 5 years. I can clearly say that Sony phones are decent . But their software photo processing sucks big. You can easily notice this when you zoom in the photo, when you take photos in the evenings with flash on. The distortion in video is horrible when you take a SL-Mo video .

Sony lost the ram test because it loaded fortnight which is a huge game and kept it in memory while the IPhone didn't load the game, so I think the ram test should be redone without fortnight, or with fortnight fully loaded on both

I have both phones. The iPhone is the same as the Sony with RAM management, sometimes better with games, but the Sony is sometimes better with smaller apps. So it isn't that big of a deal.

mid spec? Xperia 1 is the flagship Sony phone. It is the absolute top of the range. It has everything better than the iPhone 11 Pro Max. The 4K HDR OLED screen is way ahead of the OLED in iPhone 11 Pro Max. I have a purple Xperia 1 myself and it is just the most incredible phone ever.

@@Jack_80 the main camera sensor from xperia 5 is an IMX563 and the xperia 1 has an IMX445 and the xperia 5 processes images better. The Xperia 5 has 3-5hrs more battery life than the xperia 1. These are not minor at all.

I would have buyed the sony it were more wider and more ram PS why don t these phone vs phone youtube videos never have a real phone vs phone test,loke audio quality ! Test both phones with some good heahphones and see witch one can deliver the better sound,witch phone records the better sound etc..test the modems..like walk away with the phone from ur modem see witch phone drops wifi signal 1st, walk away from the phone with headphones on see witch one drops bluetooth signal first,show us some FPS in games not only,put 20 apps tp install and tell us witch phone finises 1st,4k render,pocket fit and image quality ! Thank u .

i just ordered one, will have it in a week. i can't wait, i've been using a galaxy s6 from release until now and it's on it's last legs. i'll be lucky if this phone even lasts another week. i thought i would just stick with samsung but after researching for days, i like the design of thd xperia 1 far more than the galaxy 10 and it's something new and more exciting. the sony is a little more expensive now but i'm hoping it'll be worth it.
