The V30 is so underrated. LG dropped the ball with marketing and availability with timing. The only thing bad about that phone is the front facing camera quality. Coming from an iPhone 7plus user, I would definitely get the V30 if I were to switch back to android.

LG wins for me for their heaphone jack and Hi-Fi quad DAC. Music sounds way better in my Audio-Technica ATH-M50X's from the LG V30 then the 2019 MacBook Pro I use for work.

As a V30 owner, LG has stepped it big time. I am a HEAVY user and especially going from a V20 which uses replaceable battery I was afraid for the new change but man the battery is amazing! 6am to 11pm. Not even once have I reached under 20% props to the other phones as well.

V30 the underrated PLAYER

At the start , the Samsung galaxy s8 plus and note 8 had edge lighting on.

Man you are great. You're one of the channels that I follow when it comes to phone research. The way you do the test is great. Thanks to your videos I chose s8 and I love that this phone has a good battery drain time which lets me to use it for at least one day. Keep going like that. Additionally one advise for you : dont wait too long by trying to make big review like this. Ofc this review is one of the bests but I was so curious when you will add an battery drain test and it took you long to add the one which has iphone x in it.

hello world I mean I have owned Samsung phones for a few years but I wouldn't say fanboy. I myself have an s8 plus and know for a fact my battery has lost some luster over time. This shootout went down to a few minutes and am honestly relieved that my phone is still battery efficient compared to the rest of the big dogs lol

Since you didn't know, the lg v30 have been rated the second best. The s7 edge with exynos chip still is number one, that is if you are not comparing the Motorola in the mix that is.

Man wow look at the v30 from 8:26 till 11:32 just kept on 3% usually phones drain battery faster when they become less than 20% but the v30 just kept 4 minutes without losing single percent!

You should not look at the video timeline, rather the clock (time) on the actual phone (because of cuts between scenes). We saw 3% first at 5:14 and the video ended with the clock reading 5:23 and still on 3%. So not 4 minutes but closer to 10.

PS: It's not that I'm poor to buy a Galaxy S8 plus (when it came out it was not cheap to be a smartphone), what happens is that Samsung lowers the price of their devices faster, they are not as fucking as apple 7 is still expensive and does not currently make the weight, but for being "apple" costs expensive when today as I said, the Iphone 7 is still expensive to be what it is, any other current smartphone violates it. Paying the full price for an iPhone is indeed not clever. I bought mine for less than 900 dollars as it was a showroom model. Doesn't change a thing. So I agree there. But what makes all the android fanboys a bunch of ignorant and obnoxious idiots is that they actually call the iPhone a bad phone. That's like denying gravity. Yes they're more expensive, but in no way worse than any android phone out there. As a matter of fact, at this moment it is the fastest phone in the world. The A11 processor really outsmarts everything.

Yeah Samsung did make the display for the apple but apple was the one who calibrate the screen. For eg iPhone made came up with a recipe and Samsung made that from the recipe. So in reality the actually came up with the thought of the screen because they knew Samsung made the best screen. Get it?

Best battery test video so far, loved it. One thing to note though, is that for some weird reason Apple forces you to use a white-colored background on the music player, whereas for most android devices is black. On the iPhone X, you can greatly save battery by using Spotify or invert colors on Apple Music as OLED displays can save A LOT of battery when turning pixels off.

Nikola Jovanovic we all know cache partition and charging cycles affect performance and battery over time his one plus 5 is about 5months old and V30 is about 2days old . I don't prefer either phone so it doesn't matter to me lol I'm sticking with my note 8 but if both were fresh out of the box the test (could have ended different ) Good example His s8+ out of the box use to beat the 1 plus 5 now it looses to the 1plus5

Ive been very pleased of my S8+ battery performance. I took mine out of charger today at 5.15am, now at 9.10pm ive got 14 percent left. I have BT, NFC, Wifi, cellular, sync and gps on all the time, screen at 75percent. Regular usage through-out the day and not once have i felt like i need charger before i go to bed.

I saw in one video you got the A9 Pro the update to nougat, is possible to make another speed test on that phone? You can make a simple test like play youtube till ran out the battery or so, just to see the benefits of Energy save in our lifes

Adam Benko btw those screens have diffrent Max brightness example v30 screens Max brightness is around 400nits when Nokia 8 has 700 nits display. Also screen resolution and technology will make diffrence to the battery drain.

Thanks for the hard work to provide us with priceless knowledge that indeed helps us make purchase decisions. I have the Samsung Galaxy S8+ since launch so I'm very glad it's the runner-up in your battery test which btw was awesome, keep up with the real world usage for future tests. Couple of days ago HTC launched the U11+ here in its home country Taiwan and I got the 128GB / 6GB ram as my secondary phone, they upgraded to 6 inch 2K display, almost 4000mah battery, BT 5.0, Android Oreo right out of the box, etc. Hope you can get one to include in your rests. I personally love it so far, the Quad DAC and Quad mic which enables 3D and Hi-Res audio in video recording mode kills it in the audio dept. Qualcomm's aptX HD outputs through BT 5.0 LDAC (3x previous BT speed) 24bit audio WIRELESSLY. That alone was worth it for me as I love music.

Aleksandar Kolev Greetings from Taiwan! are you in Europe? I think it will launch by there next month but it seems it won't be available in North America. Check if there are shops in your country that import phones, like here there are private phone shops that bring versions of phones that are only available in particular countries. I was thinking of getting the Note 8 256GB model only released in Korea but then S9 and S9+ will be announced in February so better wait a bit more 😉

I heard that the Mate 10's poor battery life is due to some bug with Google services, but it was fixed in a recent software update. Could you redo this test with all the latest updates to each phone? I am currently considering the Mate 10 since the V30 is still not available where I'm from, and the S8/S8+ prices is kept the same in retail stores (no eBay/Amazon where I'm from either).

The edge lighting on the note 8 n s8+ was on and continuous for the first hour while listening to music which I believe put them both at an obvious disadvantage... But still a cool video concept. I hope that u do it again where it's an even playing field.

The Mate 10 for one still needs major updates for stabilization including battery drainage, not to mention the fairly new kirin processor installed that needs it's own share of updates in android Oreo, considering that other phones like the Iphone 7 also were much worse at they're release.

S8+ still going strong even though it is one of the oldest phones in the group. Not bad for 2nd place.

if all screens were set to max brightness then its not fair for the note 8 because it has more brightness than any other screen

Besides it's based on actual usage all the phones are very different to be 100%. If I get a note I'll probs just push the brightness high and keep it there regardless if it's brighter than the iPhone or oneplus or whatever.

Max Lee has a video showing that the V30 actually is brighter than the Note 8 at full brightness indoors.

Nice, thorough test. Wonder if Nokia 8 got any better since the Oreo update. Only had my phone with Oreo so far, with some rather impressive battery, so bit surprised it fared so badly - hence the Oreo question

Could you please do a battery drain test of the OP5T AND OP5(when you get your hands on the Op5t)

Subscribed....this kind of tests must be rewarded. ;) One complaind though, you should set all the screens at the same brightness, lets say 250 nits or something. The most bright screens have a huge disadvantage now.

He just got v30 yesterday, and one plus 5 is from months ago maybe ..the battery is not gonna be good.. BTW both phone impress me , great job, LG and 1+
