Anirban Pratihar considering the iPhone 8 has 2600mah an 7+ 2900mah (last years flagship running newer software) vs 3300mah an 3000mah the ip8 did about the same in battery hours as the s8 an note 8 for the size of battery. If ip8 had a 3300 mah battery it would have performed th same as the s8

Man Bear pig nope. 3 weeks ago he did almost the same test but w/o 8 plus and got comparable results. btw, most devs had access to ios beta for a few months so if their apps are "not optimized" then they're couldn't be optimized at all.

Nice video, just one suggestion; when setting the screen brightness set it based on nits/candela(amount of light) rather than full brightness. It will give a more realistic result. Cheers

Not a fair test at all. The note 8 screen is twice as bright as the iPhone 8 plus. It doesn't matter if the note lasts longer or not. Having them set on the max brightness is not a fair comparison. The note 8 will use much more power on its max brightness compared to the iPhone 8 plus. The iPhone 8 plus has a max screen brightness of 625 nits. The note 8 has a max screen brightness of 1200 nits. So the note 8 will last much longer than your video suggests if it was set to the same actual brightness .

Nate galaxy also have a mode called ambient light which puts less stress on ur eyes and u can set it to activate at any time prior to bed like 30 mins prior

Please get a lux meter to set all phones at the same level of brightness. The note goes up to 1200 nits. 1000 for the s8, the iPhone 8 and 7 are way less. Just a thought to even the playing field.

hello what what tests lmao. Note 8 goes up to about 1200 nits. Even if it's exaggerated by 100 nits it's still pretty damn bright and in a whole different league when compared to the iPhone screens

Big deal... A percent at most, still shows Apple is crap, maybe Note 8 would've lasted an extra 10-15 minutes at best, more likely 5 minutes. Still shows how quality Samsung is. I just wish Samsung had Apple's camera quality, then I would be happy with my Note 8.

Set the brightness to 500 nits (a comparable level) on all the phones because Samsung can go upto 1000 and 1200 nints where as iPhones can get to 500 nits only. So the test is not very fair for Samsung. It can do far better

iPhones get to 625 nits and with auto brightness off the S8 gets to 610 nits and the Note 8 728 nits. Know the facts k thanks.

We already know Iphones suck at battery life (they suck at many other aspects too lol) so lets focus on the Galaxies. The Note 8 has 20% more brightness than the S8+ thats why it lost.

This is the best test video I see so far who dislike this video..

The part which worries me is that the weather tempratures are different on the S8 and Note 8 even though the place and time is the same 😁

Thank you for making the video. If we take the battery size vs run time, both iPhone 8+ and Note 8 are neck in neck. The battery difference is %20.9 between them, but Note 8 only lasts %19.89 longer than iPhone. Yes, I know that the screen size difference, but then also AMOLED supposed to be more efficient too, so either way I am guessing it is a wash. This is like comparing traveled distance between two cars. You take two similar cars with similar MPG, but one having 11 gallon tank and the other one having 15 galon a tank and expecting the car with smaller tank to have the same distance driven on a single tank.

Once my contract is up for my current phone I'm defiantly getting the Galaxy S8+!

Shit screens on those iphones. Not all phone have the same brightness output so you need to use a light meter and make sure they are as close as possible. Because the s8 plus and note 8 outputs alot of nits vs the iPhones lover nit output.

The reason why iPhones lose a lot of power while watching KZread videos is because they don't officially support KZread's codec because Google and Apple are horrible at making dealt with each other. Apple has to pay the price and they're using their own proprietary codec which isn't as optimized as Google's, therefore using much more power.

Ativ book Better than Samsung's hardware except two things. Display and battery. Other than that, buying an iPhone 7 in 2018-2019 (in my opinion as I will use it for that long), is better than a $1000 Note 8. Unless if prices drop even more and samsung really shows software support

Congratulation for you job. This video was terrific and the iPhone is a great smartphone but the battery is small, is like a stone in my foot . For that I do not buy yet. Will I buy the iPhone 8 plus?
