Pixel 2 picture sharpness. S8 low light video, some lens flare but still looks better imo.

What really changed the game was the portrait mode on the pixel 2 in combination with the moment lenses. Unbelievable quality !

S8 has selective focus, that started over 3 years ago for Samsung, no one seems to even recognize it as an option In the camera, I don't get it, I have an S6 and its does very well in that mode.

On portrait mode Iphone looks like : whoa that's really cool Pixel looks like : was it taken on a dslr ?

As a professional photographer it looks like the average consumer would be happy with any of the 3 phones. Each one had 1 area that was superior to the other 2, but no clear winner in my opinion.

Personally like the Pixel 2 XL best but I think all three phones did great. Can't wait to get some Moment lens :)

You mean manual focus? All phones have that. Doesn't take portraits though.

No no, it actually does something exactly like a portrait mode, its just termed as 'selective focus' by Samsung. You can google the term and check it out.

Selective focus is a full software bokeh by Samsung. It works with good contrast between the subject and background but for most use cases, the portrait mode on the iPhone and the Pixel will come out on top anytime. The S8 does not have an equivalent to the Portrait mode.

The portrait mode on the Pixel 2 is amazing..but then again I love the how videos look on the iPhone 8 plus. I vote iPhone 8 plus if you're going to shoot a lot of videos. Pixel 2 if you're more into photography. Who am I kidding, I want both.

Pixel 2's video stabilisation is the best, it's like using a gimbal. Have you seen this compared to ip 8+? Ip is easily trashed.

Kesley Benedet It really wasn’t. There was heaps of glare from the sun with all the videos filmed. The colours in IPhone 8 Plus’s video is amazing. Pixel 2 XL is definitely better for photography but the video on the IPhone is impeccable.

Great video guys! Please do a test video with all of these with Moment Lenses! I'm especially curious to see how image stabilization works with Moment Lenses. So it would be cool if you could shoot the same scene with the same phone having the lenses on and off. I'm asking, because in your Pixel 2 video on the beach, a few days ago, the video footage seemed weird and shaky. Thanks, and stay awesome!

Guys as a result of watching your videos I've just bought the Pixel 2 XL your Moment case, super wide fish eye lens, version 2 wide angle Lens and tele photo lens! The portrait mode on the Pixel 2 with your Moment lens looks amazing. You guys at Moment are bringing a whole new level to mobile photography. First off, thank you for your amazing products. I'm a backer since the first moment lens, and I'm super happy with the new wide lens and the new cases. In my bias opinion the Pixel 2 wins. This year I will be switching from iPhone to Android (Pixel 2 XL). I have owned each iPhone since the 3GS and currently I use the iPhone 7 Plus. I have it in your moment battery case and mostly use the moment wide lens. And I'm super happy with the setup. But the one lens portrait mode, the machine learning and the OIS/DIS in video mode on the Pixel 2 XL just convinced me to make the switch (For at least a year :-) ). I can't wait to get my hands on the phone and take some pictures and shoot some videos -- my wife & I have a KZread channel (WantedAdventure), and I use the lens for that so much. Your videos (blog style) are entertaining and informative (60/40) and I love them!! Thanks again for your awesome products ☺

As impressive as these shots are, I'm more impressed by the three dudes. First time stopping by this channel and the video was both informative and entertaining.

Thanks guys. Enjoyed the comparison. Regarding night video test. I noticed the sign with letters in screen with iPhone , however not with other devices. Would of been nice to see this for comparison purposes, clarity and detail of lettering and how the cameras handled additional lighting variances as a whole. I know you mentioned non scientific. Again, liked the comparison. The add lenses for pixel 2 look great!

i would say it wasn't fair for Samsung .They had a dual lens phone called Note 8 and you didn't choose that. It has portrait mode which s8+ didn't have.

The S8 actually has a software based "Portrait Mode". It's called Selective Focus and it's found on the cámara modes (where you can turn on the panorama and stuff). Not as into your face like the iPhone or Pixel but it's there
