Dymo I think that if someone has the opportunity to buy the 11 Pro or Pro Max, they should. The reason I decided to go with the Pro Max is so I could get that third camera, an OLED display, a better IP rating, and the biggest battery in an iPhone to date. Those features are all something I value in a smartphone.

I'm still using iPhone 8+ as my primary phone. Thought about upgrading multiple times, but the home button with the haptic engine, the design and how it runs so smoothly even in 2022 post 14 launch is beyond me. I'm a great fan of iPhones that had the traditional Steve jobs touch and it wouldn't let me think take an action to upgrade to something new. And it came with a charger that I'm still using, although I had to upgrade the cable on multiple occasions.

@@cthulhuiabsBut what's the point of it being higher resolution? 720p on a 4.7" screen has a higher psi than 5K on a 27" screen and everyone praises the 5K display for being amazing and you can't see the pixels even if you try. So what on earth is the point is having 1440p on these tiny phones where you couldn't even tell the difference between 900p and 1080p? The only difference I can see is a decreased battery life with no real world difference.

I didn't listen, finally replaced my old iPhone 8 with iPhone 15. The notch wasn't my jam.

don't listen to nobody,listen to your gut,go to the store,feel each out and buy what you feel is good for you.Iphone 8 is compact and great overall.8+ has better cam and display but it's bulky.Iphone x front display is great can have a silver back but it has that notch and no home button.Decide for yourself what you want,my opinion touch id is still better and that beautiful ring around button is great.

There have been reports of bad call quality on the Iphone 8 so far. Rumor has it that it might have something to do with software, but the antenna in the iphone seems to be pretty shoddy compared to its Android competitors regardless so that might be a factor as well.

The iPhone 8 is the most underrated iPhone. Everyone was talking about iPhone X at that time.

I got an iPhone 8 coming from an iPhone 5s and I love it. It's everything I want and need and this will be my primary phone for the next few years. Sure, for people who upgrade every single time an iPhone comes out I can see why this update is boring, but for people who try to make their phones last for a while, this is a beautiful phone and should not be overlooked or dismissed.

I think IPhone 8/plus is good for still having the same design and screen because many people would still prefer having a home button or prefer the old design over edge to edge display, that's why Apple probably included iPhone 8/plus as an alternative. It's also good mention other than design and display the IPhone X and 8/plus are almost the same in every other aspect so I really like the fact that Apple did this. Also note that though a OLED screen will look much better than the already perfectly nice looking 1080p screen, at the end of the day it's a phone screen. Unless it's your main entertainment device, a fancy OLED screen is pointless on a phone because you'd be more focused on the functionality of it notice the sharp blacks. (I have used a Samsung phone, so I do know how an OLED looks) so buyers know that your only going to be paying extra $200 for an OLED edge to edge display... And that's about it. Furthermore if you have been using Apple you'd know there is a certain pattern, when the iPhone 4 came out it was great but the 4s was the same phone but so much better, same story with 5/5s 6/6s and now 7/7s which they call the 8, and with the X it's going to be a great phone but you know what's going to be even better the Xs. So if you aren't too bothered by display and design, please save your self some money and buy the 8 or even 7 which still holds up pretty well.

I like the review. Solid and truthful. I also like to see an iPhone 8 and 8 Plus as a swan song to an old design. Looks the same, but is a freaking beast.

I'm still using the IPhone 6 and am ready to upgrade. Do ya'll think the 7plus or 8 is worth the jump?

Prefer the X, but it’s not worth the money for what it offers. Maybe 1/2 years from now. Simply, I’m satisfied by the experience I have with my 6S, but would like to have the completely new screen, a better camera, and stereo audio. But I will wait a bit more.

Same why I’m getting the 8 plus cause my 6s plus battery is bad and my phone over heats like crazy and don’t like the x it reminds me of the nightmare that was a Motorola cheap phone

That would be a pointless feature, you just wouldn't get enough power from a solar panel the size of a phone for it to be worthwhile. Even with the panel angled just right in direct sun at noon you'd get much less than you get from a regular USB port.

im watching this on my iphone 8 right now 4 yrs later

I got the gold iPhone 8+ in 2018 and I remember thinking it was the perfect combination of the 7 and the X because it still has touch ID and the 2 cameras (GREAT QUALITY TOO) but then, it also has the wireless charging feature. Plus, personally, I thought the Gold looked really nice! (I know some people don't like it. So, I guess to each their own!) I have the iPhone 12 Pro Max now but the 8+ still works GREAT so I just gave it to my mom.

Taking the sim card out of my 8 plus and putting it into a 12 mini today. Still 1080p in 2021. :D

I think I might b=go with the 8+ just because of the tele lens and because in Canada theres a bigger price difference compared to the X

i agree with Marques - if you don't need the latest and greatest you can just buy a used one on Craigslist and it will be a lot less than this "value" phone for 800 bucks. and if you must have the best then it's either iPhone X or Note 8 for you ... maybe the Pixel 2 if you're into that sort of thing.

Am I the only one who actually likes having the home button? instead of swiping.

James Greek its only a 1080p screen on the 8 Plus, and 720p on the 8. You can record 4K video on both but can't watch them in 4K, only 1080p

I love my 6s and the performance is still sometimes better than the latest Android phones, but the battery life took a huge dump on iOS 11. Now I have to carry a portable charger with me.

I got the iPhone 8 Plus a few months ago, and man i love this phone. I tried the iPhone X hands on, it was good. But then i tried the iPhone 8 Plus, and man i loved it. Beautiful looking, big screen and the battery life is pretty insane! Huge fan!

Despite having A11 chip they got just 1 more year of software updates compare to iPhone 6s which had A9 chip.

I still have my I phone 8 since day one. Battery capacity is 89% from new, still looks great, works great, and I do like the home button. I did however turn off the thumbprint locking because it didn’t work if you’re slightly sweaty. Especially in the morning. I’m probably going to upgrade when they release a mini iPhone again. I’m talking iPhone 4 size.

Couldn’t help but notice you have two different coloured straps/belt on your apple watch it looks good though

I got the iPhone 8, and I absolutely love it. (Upgraded from a 6s) I don't want to beta test the X's facial recognition. We all know it will be much more solid in the "Xs" and then I'll think about it. I also don't want to blow $300 more (Canadian Dollars) as my 8 was already $1050 after tax. The 8 is insanely fast, but if you want attention the 8 won't give you it (Which I prefer) as 95% of people don't even notice I have the 8 because it hardly looks different.

DeShawn Terrance false, this is the same case every time Apple releases something different from their regular product line. when I bought my iPhone 6 Plus on launch day everyone said it was a mistake, criticized it for being too big and many other things. Few months after that those same people all had the same exact phone as me. I’ve purchased multiple new products at launch that people would call “beta’s” and they always stood the test of time, lasted at least 3 years and never felt like a beta product.

uwotm8 because its a waste of money, unless you have it. As simple as that. Unless you havent upgraded for a while then id say go ahead, but i wouldnt get the new one just yet because i could buy things i actually need rather than upgrading for new simple little feats we dont need at all.
