I bought a SMASHED iPhone 12 from a Tradie. Is it worth repairing?
The cost of replacement parts coupled with the time and effort involved in restoring this phone is up for debate. iPhone full frame swaps are notoriously difficult and tedious, but are they getting even more complex?

That's great, thanks! I'm always worrying about the audio, thinking it sounds crappy, or music too loud/soft, narration too loud/soft. 😀
I always appreciate how thorough you are with your phone repairs. Crazy what you had to do to get the battery working without the warning notification

Speaking of which, I thought the add-on little circuit board only needed to stay on temporarily, in order to fool the iPhone it’s a genuine battery, and possibly to reset the cycle count to zero using the battery programmer. At least that’s what I seem to remember watching other repair videos. Or is that model-dependent too, and Apple cracked down on this yet again, forcing the dongle to stay on? 😢
I wasn't confident this one would go well given the state of it - but you did it! That lucky little fella was saved from landfill for a few more years thanks to you 😇

The Face ID edit and criminal records joke cracked me up 😂
lol. When they tell you, "I have never installed a passcode on the phone, I'm sure of it". Then 20 minutes later they tell you "But you can try XXXX and see if it works", and it somehow magically works.

Another masterpiece from you. The detail is so good. And I love the way you're adding in the subtle dry humour. Very cute! And how good is it that @PCBWay sponsors you? They're the perfect company for it because of their extensive range of tech products and components.
Great video, very entertaining to watch a pro. First time I've seen the battery replacement be a 100% success.
The ringer going off sent me into panic mode 😂 been working on call in IT for 5 years now. Scrambled to check my phone before I realized. Nicely done audio trick there. Not sure how you made it sound like it was in the room rather than from headphones. The rest of the repair was great as well, as always with your channel.

Wow, the struggle you had to go through with the battery is pretty intense. My experience is limited to a galaxy s8 and s10. But I can't say I've ever seen that kind of anti repair BS before.

@RestoreTechnique you dont have to reprogramm the battery on the pc. after you installed the bypass tool on the battery you have to start the phone with the charger. then it will show 100%. greetings!

i love sound of battery straps removal :D... thank you for fantastic video!
I think you should have bought a case with the small parts included, and it was unnecessary to replace the battery. This would have saved a lot of time and some money. Making it more worth your time. However I am glad to see the replacement of these parts in the video.

Transitioning from red to blue is like having a new iPhone lol
That micro tig is new to me 😍 I search for it and can’t find it but actually they market it as jewelry spot welder LOL
I have NEVER been successful doing this 7:11 - any tips from anyone? This is a great video, very satisfying. Worth it? I think this kind of effort is always worth the experience you gain. Unfortunately, by selling it you won't be able to recover the true bench rate.. as if the owner was bringing this unit in for repair. Thanks for the video. Very enjoyable!
용접 보는데 와~ 소리가 절로나네요.. 따봉 안줄수가 없습니다 😊
Cleaning the grids of the iPhone 12 I drilled two of them, I should replace the grids on the right and left in the articular the one where you replaced the orange colour part and the one on the left. I bought the kit you showed on video but unfortunately I can't find any video how to replace the grids

My son has an iPhone 11. It has a lot of micro scratched on the screen and the camera lenses have some nicks around them. The battery health has about 90%. Would it be worth it to have it restored.
The original battery is smaller for a reason. The battery expand after a few years a few milimiters. This new battery is quite dangerous if you ask me...
How long did it take you? Because you can divide that 175 into the hours spent and see if it’s worth your time. And was there a true profit based on the revenue per hour

Why do you ned the REFOX Tag-on if you've swapped over the original BMS?
@RestoreTechnique
8 ай бұрын
Umm.... I don't know. I was going to use the Tag-On so I didn't have to transfer bms or reprogram it, but then when it didn't work, I went down the other route, and left the tag on it without thinking 🫣 😂 I'm no expert with battery swaps, and the rules keep changing all the time.
