iPhone 15 Pro Max Restoration - They Broke The Titanium Frame!
Ғылым және технология
I purchased this iPhone 15 Pro Max 512GB for only 370USD, but it has sustained major damage from falling out of a motorcycle riders pocket and onto a motorway at 110Km/h.

This legit happened to me a couple of weeks ago. I dropped my Oppo Find X5 Pro from my car going 120 km/h yet all that broke was my back glass. And even that only had 2-3 cracks in it. The rest of the phone was in perfect condition. Still no one believes me except for a friend who saw everything from his car.

My old cheapo Nubia M2 fell on the front screen many times from waist high. No crack at all. But your story doesnt seem plausible because you said from car at 120km/h speed but you never tried to mention what caused the phone to drop.
The hardwork you put in your repair is unmatched. I mean the cleanliness you follow and trying to retain the originality is amazing! Great job Hugh! Way to go!

It's an amazing feat that you accomplished this :) Repairing iPhones is something, but restoring the frame is something else. It is a real shame that the replacement display causes auto brightness not to work, that Apple anti-repair nonsense is really getting out of hand.

In all honesty, auto brightness is hardly useful anymore since iOS 16, they've completely botched it, it's much better to manage your brightness yourself.

I'm really impressed, I expected this to be a simple case replacement, but doing things like actually repairing the frame is what keeps me coming back to your videos
This is by far one of your best restore projects! Bravo. That phone was totaled and your work has kept it from a landfill! Too bad Apple doesn't care enough to salvage otherwise working phones this badly damaged.
One the whole youtube there are ONLY 2 channels that have me glued to the screen from start to the end: Hugh Jeffreys and Project Farm. Thanks Hugh! Excellent job!

I LOVE the idea of repairing the frame! never even thought about that haha I do wish you had used a genuine display and rear glass assembly from the self repair store though, the MagSafe magnets not being aligned correctly did bug me a bit haha
The repared frame which you have done it’s a work of art it has an image a history and a story Hugh what you do is you bring phones to life and you give back their identity
Kinda surreal feeling when you said "lets plug in the usbc cable" tbh 😂

Excellent video as always. I would use a titanium epoxy instead of super glue, and also sand with a 2000 or 3000 grit sandpaper the scratches on the bottom.

Always looking forward to your fix it vids, cant wait for the nwxt one, and can you make one about DIY housing for iphones
Excited for you to hit 1 million subs!!!
I'm amazed you were able to salvage the broken titanium piece. Bravo.
I was going to recommend a device like the Qian Li iCopy to clone the screen data from the broken panel to the refurb panel, but it seems the current model only supports up to the iPhone 14. Hopefully they get a revised daughterboard and software to do 15' panels soon. Still, quite a spectacular repair...I would have parted it out and sold it, frankly, thinking it too far gone. I'd never have thought that frame would come anywhere close to aligned after that much damage. Thanks for posting this!
This was an interesting repair - love how you fixed the frame with glue, that shit is right up my alley.
Nice work! Bravo.
It's like a sunday tradition now watching another of hughs brilliant videos.
Amazing repair!
Wow! Beautiful! Well done!
Nice job Hugh
Regarding the ready-made adhesive strips, they usually require activation as well, so heating while clamping down, and then let them sit for up to 12 hours. Had a S10+ back glass pop open again because I missed that step.
This is so painful to watch You did a great job Huge!
Wow I agree so expensive you done wonderful job fixing it
Wow, that was fast.
hope the people of the future will appreciate the effort we have to go through to repair a phone
Literally no one who would see that phone would think the literal frame was in shambles. This has to be the craziest phone restoration so far!
The reason I subscribed to your channel. I these sort of restoration videos, great one
Great result Hugh! Pop it in a cover and you're back in business. You get epoxy for metal that sets to a silver colour and can be filed/machined. How much more would it have cost to get the Apple OEM screen replacement to get full functionality?
I'm impressed that the photo module has no outside scratches ? 😳 Looks like the sapphire glass works well, even if sapphire don't like be shocked... ...maybe the future IPHONE will be in full Titanium/Sapphire ? 😄 Oh I've forgot, very impressive job ! 👍
Top repair!!!
The cost is ridiculous. It’s literally dead to 99% of the population.

Good job on the iPhone bodywork!!
Super glue? Maybe an epoxy like J-B Weld would have been better.
Legend!
The grey 15 Pro max looks great
Great job mate🙂👍🏼🍺
a 2 part epoxy is stronger than super glue bond and not instantly bonding so you have time to align the 2 ends. can mix ground carbon fiber with it for added strength. aluminum epoxy likely also to work as well as titanium as someone mentioned. if i were ever to try such a repair i'd take a photo, print it then scotch tape the corresponding screws to where they go in photo.
Another Banger from Jeffrey.
That's pretty crazy that the titanium frame actually broke apart 😳
Awesome job for restoring the iPhone 15 Pro Max, Hugh. Even though I prefer Android phones and tablets designed from 2008-2020 rather than iPhones, Samsung Galaxy S21, S22, S23, S24, it's plus, ultra, ultra plus models and other new designed phones, my mom and I would try to fix the Samsung Galaxy S9+ in it's midnight black color that is on AT&T my dad had that has a broken LCD screen that needs a brand new one.
Very impressive! I can't believe you saved that frame! Also loss of auto brightness is a feature lol
Really amazing job! Put a case on it, and no one would guess how bad it was 😮
About a year ago, or so I was out for a workout, running. While crossing the street my iPhone 13 pro max fell out my pocket and about ten seconds later a car ran over it with both front and rear tires. Both the front and back glass broke, the rear glass even missing a few chunks, but ultimately the phone had no deformation, and even kept working for a few months until it fell in water right before the iPhone 14 release. I do believe the iPhone 15 frame is weaker compared to the previous 2 iPhones although it’s made out of a stronger material. Sticking with the 14 pmx
Such a beautiful phone
Hugh really said fine I'll fix fhe frame myself
Impressive stuff
You are very good at fixing phones
Great restoration video. Wonder if an epoxy based glue would provide more structural support to the broken parts.

That’s why I’m sticking with my 12 mini: easy repairs (as rewa has cracked the antirepair tricks for my model)
the fact that the restored frame looks like new is wild.
Not bad, and I'm glad to hear that this almost destroyed device now has a new lease of life. Just a shame that it is currently worse than my Galaxy S7 Edge and Galaxy S4, as both of those devices (despite being several years older) have working Automatic Brightness.
Genius !
Amazing to see Hugh battled with fixing the newest iPhone lineup, nice job!
Amazing! I wouldn't be surprised if folks at Cupertino are subscribed, taking notes for how they can further lock down the iPhone 16 and 17 to make even super hard for you. Moral of the story, store your phone securely and put it in a case. Going 7 years now with my iPhone X and not a scratch.

I’m surprised you didn’t use a little sandpaper on the titanium to smooth it out a touch. But overall, great job 👏🏼

Hey Albo, ni Coaches Nyoro. Great work right there. I believe bado unakumbuka maboys hapa Nakuru
thats impressive the person tracked down the missing titanium piece. my luck the frame would have separated by 3000 feet at that speed
Nice restore
Frame is a W. I mean, buying a new one would be too easy haha.
Wow , well done mate , 99.9 % of us would have instantly put that phone in the too hard basket , again , well done sir !
Save the old screen. Chinese have tools to change the display serial, truetone etc.. information to new display. It's called REFOX RP30, you will also need the iP13P-15P/PM true tone adapter for it.
Bravo!
