I used to run up and down those stairs around the arena 3 or 4 times. Not a wrestler, am a pro bodybuilder but, man watching them do with db that's awesome. Good memories for me.

has sixpp or whatever produced national champs; I think Iowa wrestling is doing just fine producing well conditioned bad asses. And... "what kind of curls are those?" agonizing in a superset meant to simulate fatigue during a match----this is strength training for WRESTLING dudes, not bodybuilding

darrell hastings Dayton Larson iowa wrestling is no joke. High school wrestling was demanding enough for me, and even if I was good enough for a school like Iowa I never would have done wrestling past high school. I will always love the sport but it was not for me long term. I respect anybody who continues doing the sport out of high school in no matter shape or form

Shoulder issues have many different causes, of which only one could possibly be injury during weight lifting. It is just as likely and plausible that he injured him self in practice or competition. If Iowa's style of strength training was in some way more dangerous we'd see a lot more of their guys missing time for the same kinds of injuries, and we simply don't see that.

Jesus. And that's just conditioning! They haven't even hit the wrestling room - yet. Is it possible they might be overtraining? Certainly the "law of diminishing returns" could be applied here. I do know that at least you've got to have some rest / light days in between this level of intensity.
