I wonder how many navy wrestlers became Navy SEALs officers. To go to the naval academy and wrestle takes a special person.

I kind of envy the military schools wrestling programs, there, every student is required to enroll in a sport, so you can do wrestling without worrying about being cut unless you slack off. I was a good (not great) high school wrestler who went to a non-wrestling school, and I would have loved to just go though the training and the fun of the sport while not having to worry about making weight and still focusing on my education.

Louis Garday that's what I don't get about sport in college. There are only sport programs for competing athletes, most of them only for those with an athletic scholarship. There only very rarely is any sort of more armature sport program.

dc rob I know what ur saying. Just to be clear though, swimming is physically demanding but wrestling is even more so. Wrestling also requires faster thinking and way more thinking. There are thousands of situations that require quick thinking in wrestling as well as physical conditioning that's more demanding than swimming, not to mention a way higher probability of injury.

Mxracr53 Even in drilling you should hit everything intense. You don't practice it that way, you don't perform it that way. I saw a lot of rookie mistakes but its obvious they'd been pushed pretty hard so they have a little bit of room there. The last guy had the intensity, but lacked a polished technique, which again, I'm fairly sure is simple fatigue.
