I can categorically agree with Brian on this. 1700kms and no ticket ! Quite an achievement! It is the best enthusiast car I have owned period. A bonkers masterpiece of engineering. Cannot wait for additional fake sound packs LOL

While I am disappointed that they nerfed the US options that are available to other markets (glass roof and HUD), I bought the car over a month ago and am loving it. FYI - Have seen 257 range in my 5 to 7 mile city daily commute. Edmunds saw 240 in their test. It's all in how you drive it… I certainly drive it harder on the weekend!!! 😂

I drove it as I pleased and didn't care about the range. Cost me maybe five bucks to charge it all week.

I agree about the missing features I’m just finding out about after owning the car for a week now. I might not have bought had I known the HUD and 120v outlet and others have been stripped from the car in the US. I’m glad I got it now anyway.

Agree. I got a Plaid and it is a rocket 9.2@152, 4.6 60-130 and 185 MPH to the 1/2 mile but to me even with the track package on mine, I find the Ioniq more track focused. I got a 5N to replace my daily not the Plaid, can’t be happier.

the Boost button was a great idea for the EVs.
It's sooooo good. Gimme a 10-12% size reduction and I'm a happy guy. (Same could be said for the new 992.2). Hyundai nailed it.

Rev matched downshifts!!!! They left no stone unturned. I'm putting on some faux exhaust tips if I ever get one in my fleet! Given that the power is "too much" for many drivers, I hope they can do a similar treatment with the faux dual clutch and handling, but perhaps keeping HP and torque around 350-400, with perhaps more range.

The complete package is too much for most and the problem is it's easily accessible. I suspect we might see poorly driven 5 Ns in Cars And Coffee exit crash memes soon.
Brian do you know what is below your seats? Any lower can be an issue with the road. Bags all around would take take of the high or lowering the seat brackets.

Limited to 162mph. I may have forgotten to drop that info. I didn't drive it that fast lol

All carmakers want to put sound in for the fun of driving, but they can't. To put sound in, it has to be shifted, but if other manufacturers put it in without shift, the sound will continue from zero to the end, so there's a great sense of heterogeneity. Even if they apply shift simulations, this is a loss (power, deceleration, etc.), but Hyundai has strong regenerative braking, but other manufacturers don't, so even if they want to force it in, they can't put it in. This is just a part of the many techniques that Hyundai has made. It's full of many other technical elements that overwhelm premium competitors. There are a lot of boring EVs that are simply fast in a straight line.

People tend you focus on the simulated eShift, fake engine sounds, etc. But the fact is that I5N has a real performance comparable to some ultra high-end performance SUVs such as Lamborghini Urus, Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT, etc. All the simulated stuffs are the icing on the cake.

I’m N pilled, I guess. The sounds are a bit disingenuous, but the simulated ICE drivetrain is the real deal and makes the driving experience a pleasure on every drive.

I would think the engine noise is just a software update. Maybe Hyundai will offer some new selections via OTA updates. Are you listening Hyundai?
