love your products! I've got the 1.9' Duece's Wild for my 1.9" Rock Beast tires, and I use larger Lil Nova foams for my 1.9" Trepadores. I love having the comp foams for my pits, and the firm support for my taller general trailing tires.

I am a fresh noob who realized i need to buy your foams a month ago. Since then ive had no luck with my 50% effort researching which to buy for my Wraith that's within a 1/2 lb over stock rtr with no wheels. until watching this video. Now its which dub D's and tire combo for strictly slow crawling because I haven't found a tire that impresses me on this east coat rocky Tennessee terrain. I now see how the correct foams will make a huge difference getting most out of tire and up the run offs on the side of the mountain behind my house. They transition from packed and loose dirt to rocks and couldn't be more fun. ive never seen pics or videos of anything more naturally scale than what's behind my house. I have run stock, cut mudslingers,pl tsl xl and the tsl seem to thick and arent soft or sticky(ive run many sets but only these with best setup to compare) Mudslingers do pretty good but only when going straight up and parallel. If you(are even able to) or anyone can help me out with what tires/foams combo will stick to the rocks and do ok in damp sticky clayish dirt ill be thrilled and ready to pay for performance. ive spent way to much money over 8 months trying to figure this out. I also come to you after realizing the vets and boys at the shops haven't necessarily been pointing me in the right direction due to fear of skills and rig capability I believe. I do prefer a tall tire. Thanks in advance. I will contact with this message on CI site. sorry for length. thanks Nick C

my wheels will be knock off Vanq and for now I will have to add weights but am aware of needing to trim and make room for them. if there is a weighted wheel or wheel recommendation that that is less than $100 please let me know.

It is best to contact Crawler Innovations direct. What vehicle do you have? How much does it weight RTR? What tires do you have? What rims will you be using? What is the intended usage of the vehicle?

I'm running RC4WD Interco Super Swamper TSL/Boggers. 5.7" diameter, 1.83" width, on a basically stock Bomber without the spare tire. I drive in a variety of terrain, but especially looking to improve tire performance on rocks. I'm leaning toward the Double Deuce 5.5 Narrows, but need a recommendation on which firmness combo to get. Thanks!

Thanks for posting this! Tons of info, especially for a noob like me. I got 6.0 DD Comp Cuts for some Rock Beast 2's to mount on some Method 101's on my Axial Bomber. If my plan is for rock crawling, would I be better off dropping down to the 5.5's? Oh yeah...thanks for the Double Bubble in my order!!!

+mzvelo74 Thank you for the kind words and for your purchase. Which outers do you have with your 6.0 DD? What does your bomber weigh rtr? The aluminum bead locks combined with the tires will add 1 pound of weight. Did you get the narrow VP Method 101's or do you have the new wide cans that VP now offers? You are welcome for the Double Bubble, I'm glad you enjoyed them.

Thanks for the response. I have a set each of your soft, medium and hard outlets with the tuning rings in DD Comp Cut. With the upgrades so far and battery installed I'm around 7.5 lbs not including the Rock Beast 2's and Method 101's I'm getting in on Thursday. I ordered the 1.2" beadlocks if that helps with your advice. Thanks so much again for your guidance. Take care.

I have a set each if the soft, medium and hard DD Comp Cuts outers with the tuning rings. My rig is at about 7.25 lbs right now not counting the 1.2" Method 101's and Rock Beast 2's I should be getting in tomorrow. Thanks again for your advice!!

Hello Manny.Yes, your 6.0 comp cut double deuce foams will work. They are the suggested foams for your final RTR weight. Once the added weight of the bead locks, plus the added weight of the Pitbull Rock Beast 2 tires (which are heavy), that will easily add over 1 pound to your existing weight. I would Not suggest the 5.5 DD CC in your case. Install the CWR-1024 in the front with no tuning ring. Install the CWR-1025 in the rear with no tuning rings. Foam break in is roughly 8 -10 battery packs. Thank you for your business.

I have a Capo JKMax (13 pound) crawler with 2.2 wheels and 5.0 OD tires. Since it is very heavy, what double deuce would you recommend?

My rig weight is 10 pounds on proline super swamper xl 2.2 mostly trail rider over lander light rock crawler what do you recommend

  • @jonh9710

What would you recommend . I have a 18lb truck and its got 5.4 Proline Swampers on it and I recently spent $50 bucks on their 2 stage foam to kinda keep the tires from flattening out and turns out when the blue foam is in their I cannot use my Gearhead beadlocks . The beadlocks will not bite into the bead and lock it . The rim lock pieces just fall through the center of the tire when tightening the allen screws. Once I take the blue foam out the beadlocks work ,.

Is it truly 18 pounds is my first question? That is extremely heavy for a 1:10 rc car. Next, Pro-Line tires have a terrible bead design that does not clamp to standard bead lock wheels without a special clamp ring. The Pro-Line bead design is curved and comes to a point, instead of being flat and square. I prefer to use glue on CI 6 Bolt wheels with Pro-Line tires. You will probably have to glue your Pro-Line tires to your RPP Gear Head wheels. If you're truly at 18pounds, you should be thinking single stage Deuce's Wild foams like part no. CWR-3003 for the tire you already have. Dual stage at 18 pounds, will probably run pretty flat. Standard weight for a 1:10 rc car RTR is 6 pounds on average.

What would you recommend on a TRX4 with Pitbull Rock Beast XL's?

  • @CrawlerInnovations

    @CrawlerInnovations

    7 жыл бұрын

Rock Beast XL Tires can use either 4.50" or 4.75" Lil Nova. I wouldn't recommend the XL's though. The Traxxas TRX4 has a high center of gravity that makes it top heavy. The TRX4 already has good ground clearance because of the portals, so using a smaller tire is actually better for sidehill and break over performance. CI is using the standard height Pitbull Rock Beast on our TRX4.

The recommended dual stage foams are P/N; CWR-1004 front and CWR-1005 rear; those are 5.5 Double Deuce Comp Cut Inners with Soft outer front and Medium outer rear. Sorry for the late response. Thank you for your interest in CI products.
