Interesting and unique product! Do you ship to Europe?
Can you use the Lil Nova on a 1.9 " 4.75 inch tire on a 2.2" rim or do you need to go to the double deuce?
Great video. So do you just literally stretch the tire onto a bigger wheel? I ask because I saw one video where I guy cut the tire first.
So all this rides on non vented tires. Copy.
WRONG. Tires must be vented for air to pass through the tire carcass. No air movement = no tire conformity.
What recommended size of foam 5.25, 5.5 or 6" for the bully 5.35 aprx 7lbs rig. Thanks a lot
Intended usage? Rim dimensions? CWR-1391 front and CWR-1394 rear is a popular combo.
Great videos. New to the hobby and never even thought about changing from the stock foams.
The kind words are appreciated. In general, tire foam tuning yields the largest gains in performance. Without the proper rim/tire/foam combo, no surface RC will perform to its potential.
I know a lot of people like stretching tires but I just don't like the way it looks 😂. The 1.55 tires stretched onto a 1.9 beadlocks looks ok in some variants but the 1.9 stretched on to 2.2s look comical to me. I guess I'm just old school 😂
The reason they run such high pressures isn't really to combat flats, you need extremely low rolling resistance to maintain speed in the bowls and conserve energy throughout the run and higher pressures give more pop off the coping allowing you to air higher, so being able to run lower pressures isnt really an advantage. I can still see the run flat part being useful but im curious as to how much these weigh, as rotational weight in your wheels is the worst place to add weight on your bike, it makes doing everything harder especially spin tricks, which is another reason why you see lots of flats, lots of pros run Tubolito tubes which are extremely thin and lightweight. Might be better suited to street riders, extra cushion on drops, can run even lower pressures without getting flats, and that safety net of knowing you won't be walking home, all good things. Either way its a very interesting idea for sure.
I appreciate your input. Thank you. One BMX tire foam insert weighs 132 grams or 4.5 ounces. They are rather lite weight, less than an innertube, but that is without tire sealant which would also be required.
I don't see the benefit of putting 1.9's on 2.2's. It seems ridicules.
I've done it on proline tires that don't like to fit 1.9 rims
If you prefer a scale model look, instead of an all out performance aspect, there is no right or wrong here, it's personal preference. I lean towards function over form, so once I experienced the benefits of stretched tires on the rocks, I accepted the look. It is what it is.
Great example, Proline has that terrible tire bead design that comes to an angle and the beads never want to stay seated regardless of bead lock brand. I don't often use Proline tires for the reason, but when I do, CA glue on the bead lock FTW, or stretching the tire to a larger rim. Thank you for your comment.@@theoalbert897
This already exists and is called a tire mousse.
You do realize that those are for a motorcycle, not a bicycle? Also, those are an injected molded foam filled with nitrogen. It's a very interesting technology for dirt bikes and has good reviews. It is also an entirely different material and machining process than the tire foam inserts Crawler Innovations offers, since our products deal with vehicles lighter weight than a motorcycle. Thank you for the comment.
Great tire tutorial. 👍🏾 💯
Thank you for the kind words, I cannot say that enough to all the kind comments. This world can be extremely tough at times and an individual too hard on oneself. I've shied away from creating these videos, but with continual phone calls and emails regarding similar questions, changes needed to be made. Thank you for the encouragement!
I'm looking for foams for the Baja Pro X by ProLine, they are a 1.9 x 4.85 tire and everything you guys carry is 4.75 any recommendations? Element trailwalker with some brass on the rig and in the wheels.
RTR weight? Intended usage? Rim dimensions? Tire dimensions? If you have the opportunity to watch more CI videos, you will learn that in general, all of our dual stage foam inserts come out of the package larger than the tire they fill. It is recommended to remove the outer tuning ring for initial testing.
Great video man please make more videos of your new products and technical info
Thank you for the kind words and encouragement.
anxious to try the WIDE comp cut foams on my injoras that are 1 inch wide . when i run the regular comp cuts on my TGH wheels .8 wide i get zero tire dancing ,
Making me miss my old Moonbuggy AX10 Edwardo 😂. That and you being covered in tire dust from grooving lugs out in your garage with the Dremel. Good times man.
Great video. Cool lamp
Dubble Bubble chewing gum tub from Sam's Club for the win! The original glass diffuser broke when the lamp had tipped over, not a problem. Thank you for the kind words.
Thanks for the education! I'm kinda new to 1/10 scale, so it is much appreciated.
You are welcome. Thank you for watching and for your interest in Crawler Innovations products.
Duct tape and a ton of sealant! That’s how I make my non-tubeless into tubeless. 😂
Great vid! I love your guys products! Been running them for years!! Happy new year
Thank you for the kind words and your business!
You havnt seen the full size rigs like this have ya? They're all about wheel speed. Very little about control
Great video Eddie, there is no comparison for consistent, predictable tire performance. The best foams available.
Thank you for the kind words and for selling Crawler Innovations products at Shaka Hobbies.
Still the only foams to use!
Thank you for the kind words and continued business sir.
Glad to see you still at it Eddie, hope you’ve been well.
Thank you Phil. We are doing well. How's your family?
Doing my and our best to get by. Been a rough couple years now but we are still kicking.
Are you still doing competition car audio? @@ThePhillB
No sir, stopped doing that consistently around 2010. Sadly I had to cut down heavily on a lot of my hobbies.
Thank you 🙏 Very interresting ... The problem in Europe and in France is what is the distributor ? Where i can buy your foam ?
A Main Hobbies, and RPP Hobby sell CI products and ship to EU, CI is looking for a consistent EU distributor. RC Mart also sells CI products.
My rig weight is 10 pounds on proline super swamper xl 2.2 mostly trail rider over lander light rock crawler what do you recommend
Awesome video and sled I just picked one up from the local hobby shop and I love it ty for sharing this video
Well i know the weight of my chassis... been speaking to one of your "agents" he asked me about the tire size and chassis weight. After 2 or 3 mails i got no more answer like the agent does not know what to recomend to me... somehow not just we got confused with this system but actually also pple in your brand are not able to help us out. Kinda sad and very USA maket focused since in Europe we don t talk in Inches ... So to end i m still not sure if i go Crawler Innovations (for the first time) or xxx (stay with brands i know) since after 2 weeks waiting on answers are not helping me to choose the correct foams and i will not wait till the end of summer of course to get my rig rolling... I don t like to make negative assumptions on brands that i don t know but here i have nothing possitiv to add too. Hopefully this message will get me some info. ENJOY R/C
Very nice!
Happy New Year, question about those tires, how are in general, is the compound soft even with your foams inside ?? I want to build a Unimog on 2.2 but not high tire. Thank you !!
I built a cfnn chassis with clod buster axles back around 05 or 06. Was a beast with those 7+ inch proline moab tires. I could drive it from the floor up onto my couch. Had 4 wheel steering on it as well. Man I loved that thing. RC4WD made some portals for it, but used the same size screws you see in a scx24. It didn't even make it 4 feet across smooth garage floor before the portals broke and spun in circles on the axle ends. Truck wouldn't even move, just hump the air like a chihuahua. RC4WD refused to make it right, and they was close to $300 for the set at that time. That was a lot of money back then. Never done business with them again after that, and never will. There's a really old grainy video of it on my profile here, the only thing I have left of it. Lost everything shortly after in a home fire, arrested, and divorced all in 07.
i have a 5.8 tall tire. and i wanna know if i shuld be running the 5.5 or the 6 inch dual stage foams?
