This is a great introduction and overview. I was looking for something to use to introduce a good friend to integral theory/spiral dynamics/sdi, and this is perfect. Also cool that it's associated with my friends at BG. Great job creating a 30 minute introduction to something as scopic as IT. For myself, it's been a while since I swam in these waters in much depth, in terms of talking about the theory with others who are familiar with it, or reading Ken's latest stuff. But I reflect on the core principles frequently; how can we not -- those who are familiar with and resonate with the framework and ideas -- in such a polarized climate? Unfortunately, most of the "engagement" around it that I see -- particularly in related groups on social media, etc -- seems to be much practice of armchair ontology and analysis/interpretation of current events through this lens (at least by intent), typically primarily involving the relegation of groups and individuals to colored boxes of "knowns", according to the poster's understanding of the model. While that's some times interesting and of some value, what I am much more interested in is learning about and participating in initiatives which operationalize these ideas in concrete ways to address conflict in the world; much the way, for example, that Don Beck consulted with the government of South Africa in applying spiral dynamics to the abolition of apartheid. Who is leading the initiative here in the US, for example, to apply the "transcoding" that will be necessary to create interoperability between the value memes that are so increasingly at odds in this society? Even Ken ... writing more books to refine the model is wonderful .. but who is working to operationalize it in the sphere of public outreach and policy? Anyway, thanks for the cool intro. Peace.

This was extremely helpful in expanding my cognitive understanding. It's very difficult to explain. I'm an INFP as well and so my primary language of expression is in the realm and framework of emotion.....and I definitely had an emotional response to this information. Thank you for you're very inclusive explanation of intragal theory. You have managed to provoke a very visceral curiosity in me to explore this further. Please continue.

Hi I think before you get into the 4 quadrants, it would become clearer to have a synopsis about the early development of the Integral Theory i.e. the rationale and foundation that underlies this theory. In other words an extract and summary from Wilber's Book - The Brief History of Everything. Just my two cents

I could see that being useful :) I could see there being different versions of Ken's integral theory that have different aims, especially with having a time constraint of 30 minutes (which was what I was aiming for here). This talk was designed for a particular meditation training group, leaning more towards pragmatic use, and also a fairly open disposition to the work. But I agree, the rationale, foundation behind the theory would also be great in an intro to integral theory, and necessary for a longer version. I didn't even mention holons which to me are a crucial component. But I guess I cut myself some slack given the task of putting into 30 minutes what Ken took 1000+ pages to do lol (and no, I didn't succeed in that or think it's possible, at least not for a mere mortal such as myself ;)
