Introducing Starmatter Vision & Dash and the updated TS Ultra | Verge Motorcycles

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Verge Motorcycles is proud to announce significant updates to our flagship model, the Verge TS Ultra. We have enhanced both - the hardware and software of our electric superbike, making it the first in the world to feature a 'sense of sight' through advanced cameras and radars that utilize artificial intelligence and machine learning. Our goal is to make motorcycling safer and more intuitive than ever before.
Integrating six cameras and high-resolution radars at both the front and rear empowers the motorcycle with a new level of environmental awareness. This advancement is a critical component of our Starmatter software and intelligence platform.
The Verge TS Ultra now also features updated displays. The display on top of the tank is larger than before, which makes it easier to use. The Starmatter Dash view revolutionizes the way the rider interacts with the bike. The new dash makes managing essential functions easier and more intuitive; it informs and warns of potential hazards and displays the image from the rearview camera when the rider uses the turn signal, for example.

    I can see a paired helmet HUD like car windshields have being very useful for radar that can show vehicles behind others as they are so often the danger. Free upgrades? Kudos, that's amazing.

    Charging in the USA and Canada is done through the NACS plug which the bikes will come standard. We are in the process of acquiring certificates and sales permission in the USA. We plan to start sales and deliveries in the USA in Q3/2024. You can already make a preliminary reservation to be one of the first to receive one once we start shipping.

    New features through OTA updates are only OTA if you've made any deliveries. What's the ETA on doing 10 thousand deliveries a Year, then per Month, etc. Features are cool but a bike in the hand is worth way more fun than a new feature you can't use yet. Until people can start to see independant reviews of the range and speed to 60mph etc then they are going to keep holding off placing an order. I will say though if you can actually deliver over 240miles of range per charge and you have fast charge capabilities, you will likely sell heaps of bikes. No fast charge and you will fail like the rest. Fast charging is an absolute minimum requirement for a sale of any EV these days, especially going forward. Even if the bike can only charge at 50kilowatts, it's still way better than lvl 2 charge speeds. Edit: I just saw on the CES video you were charging with a CCS adaptor. At around 19kilowatts / 60miles an hour, which for a bike is ok but not great. I'd say up that to 50 kilowatts if possible, even if you need to add water cooling while charging. With that taken into account if you can keep the price competitive, you should be onto a winner. Just focus on the manufacturing. Like Elon tells us, prototypes are easy, making 5000 a week is hard.

    115mph top speed? No thanks. Any bike that has over 700hp and over 700 lb/ft of torque that can't do 300km/hr isn't competitive to other sport bikes. Add to the fact that it can only do 200km on a charge at those low speeds, well no thank you.

    Tesla's auto driver has been driving under trucks and killing the drivers. Having a large touch screen is not what you want on a bike, something to take your attention away from riding. Why do you not ask people what they want before making changes. The largest problem for me is the price, I could get a nice car for 30k to 40k euro that is a metal box that shields you from rain and hail and what you can drive in winter with no issues. Most people that ride bikes are young and do not have that kind of money to spend on a toy and the people that have the money have reached an age that they are more interested in comfort than dealing with the weather. If you want to put people on your bikes the base price is to much and the fancy fake green screen graphics just reduce your credibility.

    Your points are all valid...for YOU, in the same way YOU are not buying a Ferrari. People who want Ferrari’s, buy Ferrari’s. Ferrari’s have buttons for indicators and several features that your 40k BMW doesn’t etc etc etc. “Most people”, this bike isn’t aimed at just “most people”, the same way a Ferrari isn’t aimed at “most people”. Come on Mr Cream Truck Log 69, let’s realize the context before venting and realize the ground breaking stuff this can do. If this catches on, all bikes will have cameras and a hell of a lot safer…oh wait, just like Tesla within the car industry. To the Verge Team, just amazing

    If you and Mr. Truck prefer your lifestyle the way it has always been that's ok for you two. However, it's not okay to try to force everyone else, with old inaccurate information, to live or think like you have been. Some of us like to push beyond the maps drawn for us. You can be angry at new fangled technology and methods or whatever else. Just politely keep it to ya'll selves, please.

    You're either completely misinformed or you haven't done your homework! Anyone who's never ridden a bike might think this is all good stuff... but believe me, it is quite the opposite! Motorcyclists do not need constant distractions whilst riding a bike. In a modern car, these constant interventions are annoying and distracting at best. All they do is shift your concentration and attention away from the art of driving safely towards unhelpful dashboard warnings. It's dangerous. On a motorbike, where there's much more going on than in a car, anything that adds to the many things you should be concentrating on, like staying alive, would be seriously unwanted, and inevitably lead to an accident. Just because you can do this digitally doesn't mean you should! Instead, spend your R&D budget developing technology that people actually want... like smaller, lighter motors, and small light batteries that charge in a heartbeat for instance. Achieving this will give you a point of difference and competitive advantage... stop wasting your time & money on unnecessary and unwanted gizmos that don't add any value. Focus on truly understanding what your customers really want and innovate right there.

    We appreciate your concern and understand the importance of focus and safety while riding. At Verge Motorcycles, safety is a top priority, and we design our bikes with this in mind. The quietness of our electric motorcycles enhances riders' ability to be aware of their surroundings, without the distraction of engine noise. We're committed to refining our technology to meet the real needs of riders, focusing on innovations that enhance both the riding experience and safety.

  • @pete266

    @pete266

    ...and your inane reply tells me you've completely failed to understand or even recognise any of the points I've made, and reinforced your ignorance by suggesting bikes with no engine noise are safer. Wrong! The majority of noise on a bike is wind noise not engine noise... and this noise isn't a distraction because it's constant and consistent with speed. What will certainly create constant distractions are your ridiculous electronic systems that actually add no value. No governing body in their right mind would approve & certificate what you're doing. So, if you really don't want to listen to good reason from a road & track motorcyclist with over 50 years experience, then good luck wasting your time & money.
