Into the Impossible with Dr. Brian Keating
Ғылым және технология
What if we find intelligent life tomorrow? What can you learn from Nobel Prize winners?
John is joined by Dr. Brian Keating to discuss his new book Into the Impossible: Think Like a Nobel Prize Winner: Lessons from Laureates to Stoke Curiosity, Spur Collaboration, and Ignite Imagination in Your Life and Career. How can you unlock creativity and imagination to inspire, teach, and lead? What mental models do the world’s most accomplished scientists use to supercharge their creativity and strengthen their most precious collaborations?
Dr. Keating also discusses his involvement in the Galileo Project, a new project led by Dr. Avi Loeb of Harvard to search our skies for UAP and search our solar system for exo archeology or alien artifacts.

Also, John now has a dedicated studio, which is being finished up now but this is the first episode from there! A tour of the studio will be part of a MAJOR announcement we will be making about the future of how to enjoy Event Horizon... A paid podcast version of the show, live stream QnA sessions with John (including a phone number to call into), and much more will be announced fully soon. Let us know what you want from the show. More to come!

Content is exceptional. These are just the suggestions. I would anyways appreciate the channel equally. Although a few things if it is possible, 1. Background music, I associate you videos with a soothing and calming music, it somehow helps to concentrate over talks more. Videos are supplemented with that. 2. Maybe introductory and the final phase can be Camera on, because it would be great to know the participants. In middle the old format is fine for me. Good work

Okay. Cool story.
Unless there were large alien crafts visible in the atmosphere, I don’t think most people would care even if we found intelligent life. I asked my girlfriend how she would feel if they found microbes on Mars. She said “well that would be boring.” She’s on her second chance now.
@itheuserfirst3186

I never understood people who are uninterested in microbial alien life. I mean, that's the most likely form of life you're going to find. Some people want a sci-fi film. They're not interested in the details.

the opening music is beautiful, it puts me in a 'your about to get your mind blown' mode 🤯 ...
I often get into such a meditative state when listening to all your videos John, both these conversations and the ones from your main channel, that when the video ends I snap back to reality and realize I forgot to do whatever I was going to do while listening/watching. As the video ended I just now realized I have a bowl of ice-cream that I made specifically to enjoy while watching this, but only had a bit of before my surroundings faded away. I'm now slurping away at the former ice-cream without a single regret!
I am by far an intelligent Irish man but every week listening to John and his guests makes me learn something new every week and when you listen to something enough it will start to make sense so thanks for that , also love the way John pronounces his surname , so cool 🇮🇪

I like the new format, and the content has always been excellent. This channel was instrumental in helping me not go insane during the many lockdowns we had to endure in the UK. Same goes for Keating's channel. You guys are a treasure.
So delighted to appear on my second favorite KZread channel!!! Thanks Ross and John…you guys are making a dent in the Multiverse !!!
Very much enjoy your show, keep it up! I fully prefer your normal video/podcast format without cameras, but I understand if some people enjoy that as well.
What a great conversation. This guy is pretty brilliant.
One of my favorite channels by far. thank you.
Two of my favorites on one show! As a psychology researcher I am absolutely fascinated by xenopsychology. My theory of if-they’re-here-why is that neurodiversity is the most valuable resource in the universe. They can only know themselves by the reflection of themselves in others.
My two favourite KZreadrs being brilliant together! What a treat. Thank you!
Love the addition of the in studio cameras.
Love your shows JMG! Listen every week and binge listen to past shows at work to cover them all.

Wow. This particular episode has to be ranked above all prior ones. And I rank those a 10 out of 10. My compliments to Dr Keating and his brilliant insights. Refreshing to hear a Scientist who is both comfortable w both the scientific method & fundamental religion.

I like how you had both cameras on for this interview! I usually find myself listening to your interviews in the background while I do work/school related stuff, but I found myself glancing a few more times at the video this session because I actually saw you & Dr. Brain Keating! Some people will always listen to your videos as a sort-of podcast, and nothings changed for them. But I know some people watch the visuals and listen at the same time, and that's a cool touch. Keep doing it, if you can!

The perspective he gives on humans towards the earth and life is probobly the most accurate, well put way anyone could have ever put it.
I frequently find myself listening to these interviews two or three times or more and take away different elements every time. Thank you!

I'm an Agnostic. Yet I feel seriously great comfort everytime I walk into a Catholic Cathedral or a Buddhist Temple.
John, Roos, Eryn - thank you for everything. Also, love the new format!
First, yes, please keep the interviewer/interviewee cameras and keep improving the graphics and images correlation to the discussion. All the best in your expansion plans. Second, it seemed that at some point Brian veered off and answered a question you did not ask, at least directly. The controversy of disclosure in the UAP field is orthogonal to Keating's points. It is not that most of those who call for disclosure believe there is some coverup in the general scientific community. Rather, it lies within portions of the US government, technology and defense industries. Many think past efforts of particular groups and individuals revealed in FOIA requests and suits show that outright lies and the issue of national security interests are dishonestly used to hold back some amazing revelations from the country and the world. It is a very deep and broad topic that could take someone years to explore comprehensively. It also seems that anyone who would or does become part of the leaking of such information (implied to be probabilistically assured by Keating) would be dismissed by the unhealthily incurious as liars, fools or scammers. We see that quite regularly from within and without the UAP field. I would also take issue with how he frames the extremes of the two sides of the issue but I've probably written more than enough at this point.
@CessnaPilot99

Yes many of his UAP answers were long-winded but we're just meaningless platitudes

A peer-reviewed journal publishes a retraction if error is proven. A White House lawn announcement follows the political dictate, "Never apologize. Never explain". That is, on the White House Lawn, it's politics, not peer review.
Dr Brian Keating is very well spoken and articulate.

One of your best and most timely.
Religion has a viable function in society. The great majority of society is religious; whether it be God, politics, ideology, or individual ego. Something is followed and revered, held above and adhered to "religiously", for better or worse. Most men are followers, a fact that will never change.
