I have been following arroz for about 2 years. I remember when we got introduced to Stumpy when he first lost his arm. Arroz marisco is definitely the best monkey videographer in all internet!

Like you, I am happy to see Bessie enjoying herself and having fun with the other younger monkeys. I feel like she was robbed of part of her childhood because of the injury and had to sit out when everyone else was having fun. The fact that she can rough house and not be having pain or issues with range of motion is such a good thing.

I notice some concern about Ridgy possibly miscarrying or is injured.. Correct me if I am wrong please but I do remember learning that Rhesus Macaques menstruate and do so in a way that is noticeable like we do. Considering the time of year maybe this is why she is bleeding from the area?

Rhesus do menstruate like humans do monthly but most of the time the bleeding is hardly noticeable as the cycle is anovulatory. Ovulation occurs during the breeding season from mid Nov to late Feb for roughly 4 months and menstruation in those months will be noticeable with obvious blood loss. If she is menstruating it seems Ridgy isn't going to get pregnant this year.

ya i noticed Ridgy bleeding right off the bat myself...1st thought i had was she misscarried but irs the wrong time of year...so she eithet aborted very early or shes injured.

Wow! Ridgy is really bleeding a lot back there. Either she has her period, a bad wound or she's having a miscarriage. Is it normal that she is licking up all her blood off the ground every time she moves? Now, if it is her period and it's February, does that mean she won't be having a baby this year? (2019) Although, she could still get pregnant & have a baby in August, like Lizzy did with Mickey. Correct me if I'm wrong but, I believe the gestational period for these monkeys is approximately 6 months.

She was in two of the videos from the weekend. She is still favoring the affected leg but is weight bearing occasionally so that is a good sign. Her baby is doing great.

@@justinturner9097 Sorry, I guess I don't know what monkey you are referencing. I didn't know there was another one with a bleeding butt. I saw Skinny with a bleeding butt quite a little bit ago but that has healed and then she got hurt on her leg and has been favoring it for the last several times she has been on camera, although she is using it now so likely will make a complete recovery. The butt wound healed a while ago. Sorry to have mistaken who you are talking about.

Elizabeth Rogers I’m not sure she was in estrus.

It seems as if she was bleeding, what was going on there? did she have a baby? did it pass? or is she like on a monkey period? she seems to be leaking blood and cleaning it up pff the floor

she seems to have gotten hurt badly on her bottom. Blood was trickling out of the wound.

Ridgy was drinking water when she was next to Fify on the road

Sorry I’m late to this one...did we ever find out what happened w Ridgy? It seems I’ve seen her lately and she seemed ok? Also - any idea which baby was crying so much in the background? I kept thinking you were going to pan to another kidnap of Dy’s (although it seems it’s been a min since she’s had a bad episode) I wondered if she was due? Lol. Whomever it was surely was unhappy and Momma didn’t seem to be coming to the rescue! Hope whomever it was turned out to be ok?

hmm what happened to ridgy? she's bleeding pretty bad that looks like a huge gash. hope its not taggy. he's becoming a bit of an idiot and bully lately.
