    Wow Grandee really is the most amazing, loving, gentle and caring Gather/Alpha I have ever seen. The first few mins of this video was completely heartwarming and over the with cuteness, out of any interaction between father and son I have ever seen as well. My mind was blown and I couldn't get enough of the whole situation. These are such beautiful and amazing creatures and every episode I get the honor of watching sheds more and more light on their whole hierarchy and how amazingly close they are to us humans. And in so many ways they are more genuine. You get to see the love and close family ties. You see babysitting within the troop and not just with immediate family members. You also see the darker side that to so closely resembles our own human behavior. I am obsessed with watching every episode A.M. You really do a better job than anyone out their at connecting through your lens to the inner workings of the incredible animals. And I mean that in comparison to main stream organizations like Nat Geo as well. Thank you so very much for how much time and effort you put in to capturing this glimpse into their lives. Anyone who cares and is interested at all can tell how much trust you've gained and how your presence is responded to. I only wish you could turn this into a long form series and documentary and were able to spend even more time being involved and capturing everything. Troop dynamics, aging milestones, good and bad behavior and how it plays out not only through the troop but with all the surrounding troops. I really think it could be something never before documented on a level such as you've built. I see myself there with you in every episode and have felt the tears with any loss and the amazing beauty watching as a young member is latched to mom 24/7 all the way through starting a family of there own and the happiness inside that I feel. It really is truly amazing having found you and this format you've created. I hope everyone gets the chance to fully indulge in your work and get to learn and grow with these troops you have integrated with. I can't wait till the next episode and I'm constantly on the lookout. P.s. your series that you created and have a whole storyline as you follow has got to be unprecedented and I really hope someone in the sciences/animal documentary field of Nat Geo or Discovery get a chance to see it and offer you the chance to further what you've already done. As long as it stays the way you've done it and wont become invasive and a negative thing for Golden hill road and all the troops within. You would really be able to show everyone their beauty and intelligence. Along with an extremely wide audience you could reach and I'm sure a financial windfall for yourself that you deserve. With that even better content would follow with even better tech to reach inside the troop and capture purity. I will continue to share your channel with others and thank you for all you do.

    Beautiful footage, as usual, Arroz. I loved all the focus on Spocky and Grandee! He is so good with Spocky; so sweet, loving and tender. I got a real laugh, at one point, after Spocky woke up and was twisting around in Grandee's lap. He suddenly did a nose dive into Grandee's "privates" and I thought for a moment that he was going to pull a Dopey and suck on something he shouldn't! HaHa!! He sure gives big bro Baty a rough time, doesn't he?!?!? Thx so much!

    Its not if the babies feel safe with others, but Moms as they are protective and they say yes or no to whom they let aunt or even dear old dad can look after the little one and they seem to be a bit more watch full after a little one in the care of an aunt that either dropped or let slip from her arms. Moms all saw that so it takes a bit more sugar and I cant blame them for being super close watch.

    Can someone please explain Thais "Aunting" thing? Is it like babysitting, do they nurse them? Are these females that have had babies? Any clarification would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • @kkossor3046

    @kkossor3046

    6 жыл бұрын

    Mar Chap Hi Mar Chap. Aunting is very much like babysitting or "alloparenting". Usually they have no biological relationship to the babies. Most have been sterilized but as we saw recently, Aggie's daughter Lilly was trying to Aunt Little Bessie (or Spotty. I can't remember which one right now) They do not provide them with milk but we did see sweet Knotty suckling on his Aunt one day (it may have been "comfort nursing). I hope that helps. :)

    In a normal and healthy troop like this one, "aunting" is practice for young females who are learning how to care for babies before they have their own little ones. A group of females Arroz calls the "spinsters" also engages in aunting, but those unfortunate females are usually the ones who were spayed and cannot have their own babies. Females in rhesus macaque troops are very interested in babies and will try to get close to a newborn. Since rhesus macaque troops are matrilineal -- hierarchical societies led by a Matriarch, where females stay for life -- a lot of the "aunts" are literally aunts, older sisters of the babies, cousins, grandmothers, etc. But they don't necessarily have to be related. The majority of the time they do not nurse other mothers' babies, but occasionally you'll see an infant suckle on a female who isn't mom. In macaque troops, females usually spent their lives in their natal (birth) troops, but males are driven out by the dominant males once they reach adulthood, to prevent inbreeding. Hope that helps.

    Spocky is top baby of the year. I trying hard to understand the love that Grandee is showing Spocky. If Spocky had been about 6 to 7 months old I would say that he was hanging about for mum to come back into estrus. As Spocky appears to have "Special" qualities ie: highly advanced behavior could it be that Grandee recognizes this and nurtures this ?. Whatever it is it is very interesting. Looks like we have a bit of a pervert coming up Charly playing with Grandma`s tits then playing with Bertie`s rear end come on boy not really on :-). Thanks Arroz
