Intermittent Fasting MISTAKES That May Cause WEIGHT GAIN | Dr. Steven Gundry

Ойын-сауық

THIS is why you can't seem to lose weight even while fasting!
Have you jumped on the intermittent fasting trend or started to skip meals but still haven’t seen results? If you can relate to this, don’t worry because there are thousands of others out there just like YOU. That’s because 50% of normal people are metabolically inflexible, meaning they can’t make a switch to burning free fatty acids - thus, decreasing the chances of weight loss. So you may be wondering how you can fix this, well Dr. Gundry is here to help you finally lose weight for good. Stay tuned because in this episode he reveals how you can flip this switch to lose fat faster than ever before.

I think I keep a lot of insulin around even when I eat low carb or skip meals. I think I somehow tolerate the hungry state for a long time and never get to fat burning.

No. CGM’s are VERY EXPENSIVE. And every 10 days you have to change the Sensor. The Sensors are also VERY expensive. And your doctor must prescribe.

Yup, CGM is expensive in my city too. I don't think it should be prescribed though. The cost for 1 month usage of CGM is equal with the minimum wage set by the government😔

Hi, Dr. Gundry. I have a question unrelated to weight loss. Can you, on some future video or podcast, address the question of what effect a colonoscopy, and especially the colonoscopy prep, have on the gut? And, if a colonoscopy might be detrimental to the gut's microbiome, what's the best way to restore the microbiome afterwards and how long is it likely to take?

Yes, yes, yes, great question!! I am avoiding it due to the "nasty prep chemicals" you have to take the day before. Seems like just a 24 hour fast would be enough prep without the nasty drugs and sugar gatorade they want you to drink? I don't do any sugar and would never drink that garbage. I hope he answers!!

Questions: Does an insulin test show you it's too high so you know that it's the problem? How long doing intermittent fasting before you start to see results? How much protein should I eat? Right now I use 1 tbsp of MCT oil in my diet... should it be more? How much strength training should I do? I ask because I've been eating clean whole foods and my weight just goes up and down within the same pound, and it's very frustrating. I feel stuck and not sure what to do... I'll try the things you mentioned and I'm reading Unlocking The Keto Code.

Toxins in air, water, and food are uniformly bad for our metabolism, and therefore bad for weight and gut health. Unfortunately, those toxins are difficult to avoid. Water filtration to remove chloramines, fluorides, etc., are a good start. Getting outdoors is helpful (indoor air is often worse because of outgassing from plastics), unless you live in a big city. The only way to avoid glyphosate -- which is contaminating more and more soil -- is to stop eating anything they spray it on: wheat, corn, soy...pretty much all grains. Cooking from scratch is always best because you won't be adding additional artificial flavors, colors, preservatives, etc. But unless you can afford grass-fed, grass finished beef, pasture raised chickens, etc., you're still stuck with less than perfect meats. Every little bit helps.

Insulin resistance also occurs within the fat cells themselves thereby making it equally difficult to store fat! What still makes you store fat is the additional action of ASP even in the absence of insulin. Nuts are actually high in calories and could stall your weight loss especially when you're not tracking your calories. To lose weight, just get into a calorie deficit and forget all this BS!!

Well 1 tablespoon (15g) of coconut milk provides around 0.3g protein and 0.4g carbohydrates. Ergo, it won’t break ketosis, but obviously it will break a fast, as a fast, by definition, is abstinence from everything bar water 😉
