Nodded off watching Cutting Edge Engineering, Australia. Always interesting and props to Curtis' one man shop. No disrespect to wife, Karen. Package mauling dog, too. 😁 Woke up to squealing sounds coming from this video. I then watched the rest of it. Honestly, I'm kind of impressed. I'm just an old hobby machinist with a modern home shop with better machinery and tooling. I feel quite fortunate, and now a bit humbled. Would I do as well under similar conditions? That's a tough call. I can't speak to how the end product works in the field or the injury rate in the shop, but they're doing the best they can with what they have to work with. Kind of hard to find fault in that mindset and spirit. Liked the John Deere T-shirt. Didn't see that coming. Cool. Live well, stay safe.

Those lathes are begging for some lubricant. Perhaps even just some water while cutting? Damn, even WD40? Watching a drill bit being forced down a section of stock without cutting fluid or coolant made my heart cry. And just look at the lathe beds. The last time these saw lubricant, Noah might have been building an ark!

I myself am very surprised when I look at this production culture and technology of yours, I feel very sorry when I see how backward the Muslim world is! Why do you like to work in the dust, almost without shoes? Why don't you have a concrete floor in your workshops, and the surroundings are full of iron scraps? @@franzrogalewskiWe need to understand that Health and Safety regulations in this country is basically non existant. In Australia this would never happen. Although it is people's ignorance that let it happen. Workers need a job and will do anything asked of them. There are so many Health and Safety issues here. I could easily list 20 activities happening that could cause death or lifelong illness. Maybe in this country employers do not have a duty of care. The employees are carrying the burden of health and safety. For a start it should be the employers responsibility to provide PPE to each employee. You can see by the variety of clothing they are inappropriate and provided by the employee.

I am commenting from a professional welder's point of view, the cutting level in this video is not high. The first is that the cutting Angle is not set, resulting in continuous pauses, the second is that the distance between the flame and the iron plate is not controlled well, and the third point is that the flame is not adjusted well. Under normal circumstances, the cutting of this round discus can be completed without stopping. There is also the phenomenon of molten iron melting in this, which can show that the speed of the operator is not accurate when cutting.

What a poor workmanship. A blacksmith cannot be a lathe machine operator. No formal technical education. De-commission machine from the 70s era. With chattering and worn bearings, But still put food on their table. That is how sub-continent industry works. It's a dumping place for Europeans and Americans for obsolete technology. Your steel is colder then the air around it so moisture condenses. Keeping steel in a warm dry place would help in not rusting. If you kept the item air tight rust won't occur. Say a room which had the air removed out of it somewhat like a partial vacuum.
