i7 4770s vs xeon e5 1650 v1 with gt 730 which is better for 1080p streaming.

Brilliant video. Has this on my mind as well. Xeon is clearly avaliable for cheap giving same speed but not everyone deals in these thus they ate not very popular and the consumer doesn't have enough knowledge either

Awesome video bro, I always thought why xeon weren't as famous as core i processors. Xeons are better binned cpus plus have extra features like virtualisation, pcie bifurcation , ecc memory support etc yet they are cheaper. A consumer chip might have seen use and abuse but servers are well maintained and use in climate controlled environment. didn't expect Nibhan Baig for supplying the builds for this video. Recently bought some ram from him i gotta say hes a real professional and friendly fellow.

True I was also suprised

On older H81 boards, especially Asus and AsRock you can run the Xeons at the single core turbo when all cores are loaded. At that point, it will outperform the i7 in some scenarios (at least the 1240 v3, the 1230 v3 is still a bit weak with its single core boost).

I live in the Philippines and bought an HP Z230 workstation, E3-1225 V3 for $70 US delivered. Perfect condition with a new 7200rpm drive, it will take 32gb of ram.The E3-1225 V3 has IGPU along with the E3-1246 I believe. Upgrade will be to an E3-1270 V3 soon for another $60 and a GTX1050. I only play 1 game and my son wants to play COD. Excellent video.

Both performs identical in productive workloads as well.

I have a second pc, also a Xeon 1230 v3 but overclocked (BCLK 106.3) + Ram 2x8gb 2133mhz CL11-12-12-31 and makes 3928mhz All Core. In Cinebench R15 (multi-core 795 points and single-core 159 points. I would not have thought that there was still so much performance in it as the graphics card is KFA2 GTX1060 6GB oc and it can also be super overclocked. With FullHD there are 60-70 FPS in high to ultra settings, with Esport of course more FPS but these games are not for me.

With both of them performing exactly the same my concern would be bottlenecking. I would either turn down the settings on the graphics or use a higher end gpu to compare both processors again. Nonetheless xeon is definitely a gaming capable line of processors.

X5650 is not that good for gaming not all xeons are good for gaming this is same for many i series for good gaming cpus see number in description

People remember that these old xeons were not meant for gaming, but they were designed for workstations. These old i-7s will perform on pair with these old Xeons in gaming, but not in workstations. If you are going to build one of these old med range Xeon gaming rigs. Make sure that you fully utilize PCIe 3 and not PCIE 2. Most of the poor performances in the GPU is because the GPU PCIe 3 is in a PCIe 2 slot.
