Instant Pot Corned Beef & Cabbage

Written recipe here!: pressureluckcooking.com/recipe...
Well if THIS one ain’t “The Luck ‘O The Irish!”
Being a Jewish boy who was raised in the burbs of NYC, I know a thing or two about Pastrami and Corned Beef, deli-style. But I must confess I never tried a Corned Beef & Cabbage yet. So seeing how St. Patrick’s Day is fast approaching, I decided to make one. True, it takes a little longer than most IP recipes, but it’s worth every second! It truly is the gold at the end of the rainbow! But don’t think that you’ll require Leprechauns at your table as an excuse to make this Irish staple. It’s good any time of year!
***AMAZING LEFTOVERS TIP!:
The next day, if you want to make this a totally different dish, get some rye bread, reheat some corned beef and add some decent Russian Dressing (I love Ken’s Steakhouse brand) and make an old school Jewish Deli-style corned beef on rye! To add even MORE bang, butter one side of each slice of the rye bread, add some sauerkraut and Swiss and grill in a frying pan to make it a KILLER Reuben!

I’m a ‘senior citizen’ and all my life I cooked when I had to. Since I’ve gotten my Instant Pot I was blessed to find PRESSURE LUCK and you! My husband is in heaven....I go through your recipes avidly and have never had a failure. Your instructions are concise, pretty easy (all things considered) and the final result is great food! I really enjoy ‘cooking with you’ because you definitely make it fun. Mama Eisner and Grandma did well!

I'm the same way. I always cooked because I liked to eat, not because I loved to cook. I just got an Instant Pot and I started finding these KZread video recipes. Matter of fact I'm headed in to make Corned beef and cabbage. I'll see if this guy's recipe is like grandma use to make. It sure looks like it will be. This Instant Pot thing is going to make me fat. LoL.

Ya know! I’ve been sorta binging on your recipes and don’t get tired of watching them like I do most you tube videos. I think that’s because you don’t waste time showing us food prep things like crushing garlic, or cutting up onions. You chat with us but don’t go into long soliloquies before you begin to cook or in the middle of cooking. You stick to the point but interject your silly personality while staying busy with the task. Just one persons opinion. Keep it up. Love it. Oh and of course every recipe I’ve tried so far was spot on delicious. Thanks Jeffrey 👍

In my crock pot, even after 10 hours, the carrots & potatoes sometomes still were not done. In my Instant Pot & this recipie, it was perfection! Thank you, Jeffery

I love corned beef. It fed tens of thousands of sailors of the British Navy for several hundred years. Large chunks of raw beef and salt filled hogshead barrels to be aged then filled the holds of the warships that created the British Empire. Having recently acquired an 8 qt. instant pot I've cooked corned beef in it twice. Incredibly tasty and tender. I saved the pot liquor to use to make rice or cabbage soup. In the IP sautéed 4 oz, minced bacon and half sweet onion diced, chopped the remains half head of cabbage an several smashed garlic cloves, A diced carrot and 2 small peeled and diced russet spuds. Added a pint of water and a pint container of the pot liquor, High pressure x 5 minutes. No need to add salt

I am making this for the second time, today. My family said "you made that delicious corned beef/cabbage like a MONTH ago... can you make it again?". My daughter said she felt more Irish after eating it... and belched it for hours. I asked if her burps sounded like bag pipes. ;) I was speechless. This is the first time my family has ever made a request for a recipe repeat. I'm not sure if that says more about my cooking... or my family's usual food apathy. I don't care. I see it as a "win" and put in firmly in the win column. Either way... I will be eating a delightful dinner. :) Thank you, again. Being a visual learner... these videos have upped my family dinner game!!! I am CRUSHING it. Instant Pot... and PressureLuckcooking..... for the win.

The next time you make this, preheat your oven to 400. Take your brisket and glaze it with brown sugar and mustard. Bake it for 10 minutes or so. Then slice it up and eat with your veggies and soda bread. Herman the German was half Irish and taught us this. He always invited everyone that lived nearby to stop by his farmhouse for St. Pat's Day for food and drink. They were a wonderful family and I think of them all whenever I make this. Food is fun!

Made this again, but having no ale, I used left over red wine. Removed the cooked corned beef and put the veggies in the pot to cook. When the veggies cooled I added a tin of stewed whole tomatoes then I used the immersion blender making a huge amount of soup, very delicious heart healthy soup. There was so much that I've canned it using my old fashioned stove top pressure cooker.

ok well, growing up, a Texas Jewish girl, I thought this was a Jewish dish. It was a such a repeated staple for dinner at my house as well as my grandmother's. And cooked in the old scary pressure pot, hissing and spitting! I will definitely try this! Thank you !

I come back to this video every year to make corned beef and cabbage as it is the best. I have tried sous vide, crock pot and regular pot but nothing beats pressure cooking in my opinion.

I bake my corned beef on a rack and add beer to the top of the rack. Cover n bake 4 hours. After 3 hours I remove most of the liquid to the instant pot where I'll cook my cabbage n potatoes. I uncover meat for the last 10-15 minutes of cooking. Yum-yum ☘️🇮🇪🍀🇮🇪☘️

Try mixing sour cream and prepared horseradish (to taste) as a sauce to put over corned beef.

This Italian/American, almost Jewish guy, from Long Island is going to try this on Sunday 3/17 St Patrick's Day to keep up tradition. This Guiness added will excite my Irish sister-in-law! From your expletive at the end, I know it is going to be heavenly. I'm going to buy my Lotto ticket and go for the Gold! Erin Go Bragh, as they say.
